- A total of 12 DLC characters are planned to release this year after KOF XV launches on Feb 17th, 2022. The first wave of fighters is Team 1 (Team GAROU) which will release in March, with the second wave Team 2 (Team SOUTH TOWN) releasing in May. Team 3 releases sometime during summer with Team 4 releasing in autumn. Each team is comprised of 3 fighters, so the total number added onto the current roster of 39 means players can expect to fight with 51 star-studded characters in KOF XV!

One thing to note is that how quick they been revealed and how close they are it means there's gonna be quite a lot of DLC teams for this game If it's gonna be supported for 2 or 3 years and im all for it

Maybe. According to the last released leak it's going to Team Samurai and Team Orochi(just Orochi versions of team CYS) also ""Surprise"" version of Omega Rugal(The white haired one from 98/2k2)

She hasn't been playable since kof XI along with Gato. I feel that was a game where SNK was really listening to the fans during development. And I get the same feeling with this game. That they're going out of their way to please the fans.

Love it. Gato's one of my most requested, South Town looks amazing, and Rock/Jenet are perfect choices for the Garou team. Just need some Adelheid, Duo Lon, and Shen in here now and I'm completely content; those three would push this roster above XI's for me. It's already insane!

I was not expecting to see this so soon. Espically not on a Tuesday. I'm blown away at these characters. I love Fatal Fury so its good to see it represented.

Great to see Gato and Jenet are back. Hoping to see the alternate Art of Fighting team consisting of Eiji Kisaragi, Kasumi Todoh and Mr. Big. Also, the Maximum Impact team consisting of Alba, Lien and Luise would be nice.

The redesigns for Team South Town is magnificent, Geese and Billy’s designs look like they were inspired by that one legendary Shinkiro Art piece from Real Bout Fatal Fury.
I’m hoping Ryuji keeps his fur coat aswell in match rather than taking it off just like in previous games because he looks too badass with it.

Yamazaki's fur coat would literally hinder his movements so that's why he takes it off in previous games. I mean who would fight in a death match wearing a long a somewhat "weighted" robe wherein there is a high chance of your enemy using it against you when fighting dirty?

@@WAEVOICE Yeah, KoF14 did the main roster trailers as teams and DLC as individuals. The team trailers are way more hype, but in 15's case it would have ruined a lot of surprising reveals regarding team membership, so I understand why they did it individually.

Beautiful. Team Garou is exactly what I would have asked for, Rock, Gato and B Jenet. I mean I would never have expected B. Jenet even if I thought she was a smart pick for growing the fandom. Fan favorites all. Geese is back, sweet suit and he's bringing Billy, hey hey hey, and Yamazaki. I'd still like to see Najd and Mian in like an international team and Vice because she's one of my all-time favorites. So many good characters confirmed, happy with what I saw and still though a lotta great characters yet to show up. Need some samsho folks. Need Kim, this is gonna take a while, hoping you have great success SNK, and now I gotta go see Max react to Rock's confirmation, lol.

I've always thought getting one character every few months was not all that enjoyable (although understandable) so getting a team at a time is very exciting to me
Yeah I do wonder if SNK will include guest characters because getting a team of guest characters from other games could be really good imo.

When compared to other fighting games, SNK always brings a show of content. When I remember the release of Street Fighter V, it makes me sad 😂 I hope KOF XV brings good results to SNK and can do more franchises
SFV could have been so much better if Capcom wasnt focused on eSports first and then content. Like it took 5 years, basically near the end of the game's lifetime, to be really fun with worthwhile content

Did you mean street fraud V? Yes everyone hate the feeling of not having a complete game for what they pay. The good thing here is that SNK always brings the full game, and they say the dlc's are not necessary to see the game story. They are optional.

Man absolutely love these choices. Love them! Some of my favorite characters are in here: Gato, Geese, Yamazaki, and Rock. I still want Krauser and Rugal to make it. I heard Rugal is coming but hopefully Krauser gets in at some point too, it’s been a LONG time since he’s been in KOF.
Damn, I forgot about Rugal. And he can definitely return, since Verse getting destroyed brought a lot of characters back to life. I expect Vice and Mature to make a comeback as well (two of my favorite characters, along with Ryujin).

Snk is on top of their game this year. I'm definitely hype that Gato, Rock, Ryuji and B.Janet is in the game. Billy Kane and Geese always been terror characters to me, but woo hoo. Now i can't wait to see if they going to bring Kim, his son's, duck and some other great characters back.

There's a leak before and so far it confirms everything that has been announced.. And for the last two teams, assuming its correct its gonna be team Samsho (Haohmaru, Nakoruru, Darli Dagger) and Team Orochi (Orochi Chris, Orochi Shermie, Orochi Yashiro)

Gato and B. Jenet returns to KoF after over 15 years from their last appearance in KoF XI. Didn't see that coming yet them returning in the KoF franchise after so long of a hiatus. Both of them play well with their moveset, cancels, etc. Hell, Jenet beats her opponent with her shoe for a her Lv 3, an expectation that I didn't expect.

@@dr.hasdan Thank you for pointing that out. It's been so many years since I played Motw that I forgot that she had the move on that game. Hopefully they can fit at least a few more characters from Motw on the expanded roster. I loved that game back in the day!!!

Yo solo deseo que el Team Máximum Impact salga para la Season 2. Al menos de lo que se filtró y que es Season 1 no estaban, pasó con el DBFZ que sólo filtraron todo de la Season 1 y se cumplió, pero nadie se espero de la 2. Si el KOF XV cumple, tiene éxito y se juega mucho lo más probable es que los veamos en la Season 2. Con Rock estoy feliz, pero que regresen los de Maximum Impact PLEASE SNK. 😭🙏🙏🙏

Rock HAD to come back after being in KOFXIV, but seeing Gato *FINALLY* make the jump to 3D *AND* the return of B. Jenet to form Team Garou is amazing to me, personally. Those are my three favorite Garou characters (aside from Terry), so puttin' them all together is pretty crazy to see as an official team.
I know Rock's always had a history of being low tier, but that never stopped people from liking him, as he always persevered to be loved by his fans in spite of that.
HOPEFULLY this game finally places him higher on the tier list to break that "curse" or whatever you wanna call it.
Oh...and TEAM SOUTH TOWN REFERENCING THAT ICONIC SHINKIRO ARTWORK/COVER ART THO
THAT done went and shattered my expectations! Especially since Yamazaki decided to be fancy and keep him feathery pimpcoat on, too. They definitely look full blown crime syndicate this time around.
Of course there's the elephant in the room of how two were base roster and one was already DLC last time, while with Team Garou you have a character being DLC yet again is bringin' with him two new characters to soften that blow.
But I guess in its own way, Team South Town getting new designs could be seen as an olive branch of sorts in feeling like not being as much of a retread, though I wouldn't be surprised if each of them gets some (or few) returning things from an old game that they didn't have in KOFXIV, or even completely new things to compensate.
Hope so, anyway, as Yamazaki gettin' his knife back would be great to see again, for instance.
Now, given there has been the datamined information out there for a bit, we can expect Team Samurai Shodown with Haohmaru, Nakoruru, and Darli Dagger, as well as what seems to be an Orochi Chris, Orochi Yashiro, and Orochi Shermie team again--which will be interesting to see if they just get their classic outfits as their defaults, recolors of their KOFXV outfits, or brand new outfits entirely (Hakkesshu outfits like Goenitz?)
Either way, both are exciting to think about how Haohmaru and Darli translate over to KOF, and what all's goin' on with CYS with their Orochi powers again, and how their outward appearances reflect that.
I reeeeeeeally hope for classic outfits for Orochi Team, I can't wait to see Orochi Chris colors, the original, the black, I could never set on a favorite.
They would probably change Yashiro and Shermie to be based on their base costume from this new game, but if they build upon that and aim towards their classic costumes it would be great, specially Shermie she's badass on her Orochi form.
I at least hope for Orochi Yashiro idle animation, that was also really cool

It's great to see them as a team indeed. Plus with Terry and King of Dinosaurs who is the updated version of Tizoc, it makes 5 characters from Garou. I wish they'd put Futaba Kain and Freeman for a darker team.
You think there's a chance they'll be a Last Blade team? Now that SS seems to be making it in finally.
I too hope that Team Awakened Orochi or whatever they wind up being called winds up freshening them up visually to some extent so that they're not just recoloring their KOFXV models (they could be alts they come with since they didn't get those colors for their current versions) but their Orochi versions need *something* to fancy them up this time, I hope, which is why their Hakkesshu outfits seems like a great idea and fits the angle.
As for their idle animations, they absolutely have to carry those over!
I'd love to see some more Garou characters, like Kain and Grant as a team with someone else would be neat, but the options are pretty nil now that Rock is on Team Garou since the only other realistic option is Gato's dad.
But Hotaru is pretty popular, so it'd be cool to see her back with some team.
Freeman feels like the type that would only roll with fellow overtly villainous characters.
I love The Last Blade, so I'd be all for a team of characters specifically from that.
If they didn't want to do that, but instead wanting a new Team Another World (from SNK, since a crossover guest team from non-SNK stuff could be branded as such) with characters from three different things, then they could bring in Hibiki and Jeanne since they have animations they could repurpose from them being in Samurai Shodown and SNK Heroines respectively, then use some new character entirely as their third...maybe from Kizuna Encounter or Aggresssors of Dark Kombat?
Rosa and Kisarah immediately come to mind as probably the most fitting choices.
Otherwise, it'd be neat for them to expand off of having Hibiki and Jeanne assets to do a full blown Team Last Blade and Team World Heroes.

Max is probably really excited right now. I haven't played Garou myself, but I've seen the characters before so it was cool to see them in 3D. Also, I love Geese, Billy, and Yamazaki's redesigns. They look sick!

@@AAKtheThird I hope so. Kim's always been one of my favorite characters in Fatal Fury and KOF. That said, I would actually like it if his teammates were characters other than Chang and Choi. Sure their dynamic is pretty hilarious since the two criminals can never escape Kim and his justice, but I'd like to see Kim partner with some other characters for a change and perhaps have Chang and Choi partnered with someone else (I personally see Raiden, Hwa Jai, and Cheng Sinzan as good options).
Aside from Chang and Choi, other possible team mates for Kim in KOF XV include the former Korean team members Jhun Hoon and May Lee Jinju, Kim's KOF XIV team mates Gang-il and Luong, and his sons Dong Hwan and Jae Hoon.
However, in keeping with KOF XV's trend of shattering expectations, I would personally like to see Kim partnered with Hon-Fu and Jin Chonshu since the two haven't been in many other games outside of Fatal Fury, and also have personal ties to Kim; Hon-Fu is a family friend of Kim's and shares his strong sense of justice, and Chonshu eventually became Kim's student. Furthermore, I also think it would cool to bring these two back since I think Hon-fu's fighting style looks quite fun and hilarious. As for Chonshu, I think his fighting style could incorporate elements of his old Teiou Ken martial art, but mix it up with some elements of Kim's Taekwondo.

@@AAKtheThird Oh yeah, I had completely forgotten about the American Sport Team. It would definitely be fun to see their inclusion in KOF XV. On the note, I would also appreciate it if the Japan Sports Team (Goro Daimon, Kasumi Todoh, and Hinako Shijou) were included as a foil to the American Sports Team if they end being DLC after all.
However, all of this talk has me wondering if other characters like Rugal, Goenitz, and Mature and Vice could potentially appear as DLC.
