- Part one of my attempt to dry out my field. Digging some trenches in the mud. Also using the 24-8 inch tapered bucket for the first time.
I feel your pain. some of my land in Alabama is in between 2 ponds with 3 overflow streams leading to a flat area about half an acre. Im gonna find out this weekend if a JD 2015R can scoop some out or if I need a backhoe like yours.
Good video. Nice to see these machines digging around trees. I’m currently waiting for UDIG-40 out of Canada. All the digging I have to do it near trees. Trees everywhere in New Hampshire. How do you do with roots?
Not bad at all, I just use the bucket curl to break them. Sometimes instead of breaking them they just pull out of the ground and I have to cut them with a mini saw. I'd like to get a ripper claw eventually. Thanks for watching!
@@jbmountain4991 I ordered a ripper tooth with the machine. I know I’ll need it. Thanks for posting videos.
Appreciate your instructive video. What are you trying to accomplish? Are you putting in a culvert or is that a drain field?
So that trench and the one I'm doing next are all above that field. They all lead into a giant ravine on the other side of the property. So other than some bridges to get the UTV over them, they will just stay that way and divert the water coming down the mountain (it's a lot lol)
So many have wanted to see these things dig other than soft soil. They need to watch this video. Much better than a pick and shovel. Would have been tough to do with a tractor with a backhoe. Nice video.
Thanks! Yeah I was nervous about the machine at first for that reason, not a lot of videos out there with them in hard soil. But yes, so much better than a pick and shovel, been there lol
A 3 point tractor backhoe would be better, after trenching hook up the box blade and drag all that excavated mud far away from the trench so rain doesn't wash it back into the trench.
And that is how WE random guys who have bought the random backhoe (I have BRONCO one)
are trying to justify their purchase to their wife....digging randomly in woods saying that this is a threat to a house :D
Hahahaha
Maybe start at the other end might have less mud☺️
It was more the time of year. This mountain is mud most the year 🤣
Need more weight on back
Not a very good m/c for this job .
