He will forever be too good right now
Too good? You 4got 2017.
@@evanbrad7327 you are missing the reference
@@evanbrad7327 You mean the year that saw the Preds make their first Stanley Cup Finals appearance lol.
@@brendankelly9037 haha, I get it...oh shoot!
I was waiting to find this reference on here.
Mikey is a man of culture I see. That or a Pens fan
One of the greatest goalies
“Pekka Rinne is too good right now”. Glad to see his number retired.
Love you Pekka. Can’t wait to get back to Nashville and see your number in the rafters and your to come statue. You deserve it. Thank you.
Fellow Preds fans, remember this moment and the epic shootout win over Dallas to celebrate 35 among the rafters forevermore. Thank you Pekka, for 16 years of absolute effort and determination!
"He shoots, he scores, you suck!"
What a great addition to his resume and honour . I wish our flames would honour fellow finish goalie mikka kiprusoff in the same manner. He also took us to new heights. Congrats to pekka . One of the great goalies that was loyal to one franchise.
Rinne, Price, Bobrovsky and Rask were the best goalies in the league, in my view, for a good 10 years. Three of them got close to the cup but never made it all the way. Hopefully Bob takes the Panthers to the promised land. They are all hall of famers in my book. Congratulations to Pekka Rinne on an amazing career and well-deserved jersey retirement.
How dare you forget Lundqvist ?
@@pexrinne5144 and vasilevskey
@@noodlestudiosgaming7613 don’t forget LU!
Pekka was amazing
That's was great, glad to watch him play all those seasons and a great goalie 👍🏽
As a life long Milwaukee Admirals fan, I am so proud of what Pekka was able to accomplish in his career starting out with us and finishing his career in Nashville. If it wasn’t for him, I probably wouldn’t have gotten into the game of Hockey as much as I have growing up. A great leader/person both on and off the ice. I’ve been blessed that I got to meet him and get his signature back in 2007. One of the best players I have ever seen play the game of Hockey. I wish the Predators got him a Stanley Cup since he really deserved to win one but this is the 2nd best thing they could’ve done for the guy. Congrats Pekka, we will never forget you.
Big time Pekka! Love him, hope he has a good retirement
This video always makes me cry 😭 may we remember number 35 😢
I love that they're using Bobby Roode's theme
We love you, Peks!
Pekka Rinne is too good right now
y'know the culture
is actually pretty damn good
too good right now
Most underrated goaltender...... hands down GOAT 🐐
may he forever be too good right now
Rangers fan here but I’m so happy for Rinne
Pekka, Miikka and Tuukka. Can we all agree Finnish goalies with double K will be legend? So the future is yours Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen!
Legendary goaltender of the nashville predators
one of my fav goalies for so long and I am not even a Preds fan. amazing honor for Pekka, congrats!
He's my number two favourite goalie of all time (besides my teams goalie of course). Congratulations 🎊
He did a TON for the Nashville Community and programs like Best Buddies that my Wife is a volunteer/mentor part of. Good dude all around 🙏🏻
Best Buddies? I love him even more!
Пекка Ринне ты один из лучших!!! Какие потрясающие сейвы.
Гол в ворота Чикаго Блек Хоукс !!
Жаль , что нет Кубка Стенли!!!
Congratulations Pekka! Well deserved. So glad I got to see you play in person!
We love you PEKKA RINNE
Man I wish he won a cup
I remember when i was just a little boy watching rinne as i grew up. this honestly made me tear up a bit watching this live
It’s sad he’s gone
Pekka Rinne is still, too good right now
happy retirement #35!
It’s not just that he was a great goalie and teammate he’s just an amazing person full of heart. You could always tell he was always grateful for his opportunity. 35 forever.
only the truly special in any sport deserve this honor
in no way does necessarily have to reflect the talent of the man who wore said number
but more than that it is a token of appreciation for the efforts made to define a club's culture
when that much has been done with a career, to see no one ever wear their number again is the truest pride an athlete can have
we've seen this earlier with Henrik, Dirk, Eli, and will be seen more of with Lou Whitaker and Keith Hernandez
the Predators without Pekka Rinne are incomplete
Met him at an ice rink the day he retired!
What a amazing career pekka rinne congrats
As a life long fan of the Columbus Crew, this brings a tear to my eye
This is the first jersey I’ve ever owned
Is he the first player to have his number retired in predators history?
yes
Best nhl goalie in this generation in my opinion
What about how he choked against the Pens?
@@evanbrad7327 how do you think the preds even got that far
Exactly, all rinne plus you have to face Crosby,Malkin,Bonino like how do you stop those guys
It’s not that easy to stop a superstar like ovi unless you have a good plan. Plus do you even know how to play textbook hockey like the pens and preds did?
Cause he didn’t choke.
Can’t wait to see Josi’s number in the rafters in about 10 years
There were lot of great Finnish goalies, you got: Mikka Kiprisuoff ( sorry if I spelled it wrong), Tuuka Rask and now we got Pekka Rinne
Now we got Ukko-Pekka luukkonen, Juuse Saros, Kaapo Kähkönen, Kevin Lankinen, Ville Husso and Antti Raanta (who is sadly injured most of the time).
Korpisalo
Way to go!
Forever the legend
Bobby Roode theme song
Rinne and Lundqvist are my favorite goalies, both get jersey retirement this season,so great!Gongrats!
“ThEy ReTiReD a FrAuD!”
Okay, well, look at what he did off the ice too. Great stuff on and off the ice.
Great goalie! Solid stalwart who never got enough credit. I think that Fins and Swedes get a bad wrap when it comes to the HoF.
Love you man, but I’m hoping Legwand goes up there.
Much love and respect to Pekka💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽
Amazing career pekka
Like the Robert Roode theme
Damn I miss him
Рине- потрясающий человек, играл у нас в Минске во время локаута, здоровья ему!
It’s about time goalies picked a number other than 35
I had to cheer up a the lady sitting next to me...so weird to be there at the beginning and now the end of his career. This four time Vezina nominee probably would've surpassed 400 wins were it not for lockouts, a hip infection, and COVID. The man literally set the mark for other Fins, too. I wasn't going to miss this.
What song is this?!
I love sports man. 😢
Pekka saatana 💪🏻
Guyse please NAME OF SONG playing during Rinne ´s jersey gone up.... sorry for my english😂... I ´m from Europe
glorious domination - the theme for Bobby Roode in WWE (at least his early days)
Whats that song?
Glorious Domination the theme of Bobby Roode
may you forever be too good right now
Thank you Pekka, very Cool
Keltainen tarzan
I remember when retired jerseys meant something. Nothing against Rinne. But we we really have to retire every player who played well for a team for years. There won’t be maybe numbers left ffs
There are 97 other #s to choose from for the Preds. Plenty of numbers for a full roster
This is the first number in Preds history to be retired, you better believe he deserves it.
Does he? He won 1 Vezina and I went to the final once. He was their starting goalie for years but that’s about it. IMO retired numbers should go to hall of fame legends. Not players who played for a team long enough. I’m a Habs and I don’t even think Price should have his number retired.
@@supremeleaderstarscream7898you don’t realize how hard it is to be a goalie for that long for one team. One bad season and you get ditched. Pekka Rinne was very consistent and he deserve this
@@teukka623 I agree. I played goalie my whole life and I agree he is top tier. But to have your number retired, again in my own humble opinion it takes the elite among the elite. Like Brodeur, multiple gold medals multiple Stanley cups and Vezina conn smythe
He lost the cup 4 Nashville in 2017!
No, he was the biggest reason why the Preds were able to stay with the Pens throughout the whole series. Unfortunately, we got an unlucky bounce off of the boards in our zone which happened to give the pens the go ahead goal in Game 6. I’d say that the refs cost us that game considering that they took that goal away from us which would’ve given us momentum but then again we still had plenty of time to score a goal throughout the whole game.
@@StevenSiepert2803 Dude, what are u talkin about? He was bad that entire series. That is why u had to put in Soro's sorry ass but he did even worse...
It not Rinne's fault. Team play a team and lose team. Rinne can't catch all shoots, players need score goals and defence much better. Pens had then very tough team.
@@evanbrad7327 While you were calling out Rinne as, “Terrible throughout the whole series,” I did some research. Take away Games 3 and 4, the Predators offense scored a combined 4 goals in 4 games, that’s it! They scored 3 goals in Game 1 and 1 goal in Game 2. Meanwhile in Games 4 and 6, they scored 0 goals! So while I was looking at these stats, I happened to come across Rinne’s save percent stats throughout the whole series. Playing in all 6 Games Evan, Rinne had a .636 in Game 1, a .840 in Game 2, a .964 in Game 3, a .958 in Game 4, a .667 in Game 5, and a .964 in Game 6. Taking away Games 1 and 5, he had a solid performance in the Stanley Cup Finals/crease stopping a total of 111 shots to 125 shots on net which puts him at a .888 save percentage total for the whole series. Those are good numbers man. Then you got Saros. Looking at his stats, he played in 2 games, Games 2 and 5. He stopped 14 shots to 17 shots on net. He had a save percentage of 1.000 in Game 2 and a .800 in Game 5 which puts him at a .823 save percentage. Sorry to burst your bubble Evan but the math adds up. Rinne and Saros both did well in the Finals while the Predators offense went silent in 3 out of the 6 Games played in the Finals.
#SissonsScored. End of this discussion.
