I met Linda at a Reba show. I'd bought one of her t-shirts, and got in line to get it signed. She was so thrilled I bought a shirt! Nice lady, and a hell of a singer!

You know when she wore that dress for this performance here she had it on backwards. That why it was so revealing. If you look at the 2 times she wore the dress you will see the difference
@@sallycripe2697 Oh, I see. I didn't understand you meant at the time of the performance. I was looking at the time of the time that she did the reaction, and when you first made your comment. 😀Take care, and I hope you have a great day!
Their voices are so similar that make their harmonies so tight that it is absolutely incredible! I always thought it was one of the best songs ever! Both women are so beautiful and talented! Such a wonderful performance!
Girl you owe it to yourself to watch the official music video. You would love it! I also recommend watching Martina McBride and Kelly Clarkson do the song during Reba's CMT Giants concert. They're both so sassy and Reba looks so tickled watching them perform it together.
Yep! And this is the song that Kelly sang with Reba when Kelly on American Idol! They also did CMT Crossroads together and some of the videos are on RUclips! I love watching them over and over!
Also, Reba and Dolly did a video and recording of this for Reba's 30th anniversary of this album, the first time these two legends had recorded together despite them being friends for decades.
The guy at the end there, was Vince Gill. He's known for his magical voice and great guitar playing. A very popular song of his, by reactors and the public alike, is Go Rest High Upon That Mountain.
Linda and Reba are so much in sync because Linda used to be a backup singer for Reba. You should watch the original video for this song it is great. I loved your reaction it was on point for everything.
Yep,, she didn't ever quite reach the looks of mom, but the pipes were sure there! Linda Davis didn't make too many more "big" songs, but she really didn't need to...
There are many duets out there where it seems like they are trying to one up each other but in this with Reba and Linda Davis they literally compliment each other and it is just so seamless.
Country chops are in Linda's bloodline. She harmonized so well with Reba she was her background singer. Her daughter is also in a current country group. They were going to pair her with someone else. Then heard Linda and said nope, she's the one.
Linda is married to Lang Scott who is not only a country singer, but a guitarist, songwriter and entrepreneur. Their daughter Hillary Scott is in the country group Lady A.
It was always supposed to be Linda… that is how Reba wanted it… the producers were giving Reba names of other popular artists for Linda’s part… Reba told the producers just to listen to the song with Linda as the other voice…. Then the producers realized that Reba was right the whole time by pushing Linda for the part
This dress was considered highly inappropriate at the time, and she lost a lot of fans because of it. She wore it recently to redo this song as a big "You didn't break me, and I still look amazing."
Ok, it’s the 90’s we were still wearing big hair and the dresses were formal back then, our prom dresses were long, some had hoops, but never did we have to worry about bending and someone seeing our unmentionables. Like I told my daughter “reach up, touch your toes, if anything shows, go change your clothes “.
Linda had been, and still is, one of Reba's backup singers. When she's not off on a solo gig, you'll typically find her working with Reba. She's also the mother of Hillary Scott, the female lead of "Lady A" (previously known as "Lady Antebellum") As Debra said, below, you owe it to yourself to see the official video of this song. As for what else of Reba's you should check out - Print out a list, tape it to a wall, and toss a dart. You'll hit a good one.
Linda Davis's daughter is Hillary Scott of Lady A. Reba has a song, Whoever's in New England, which is another tune with a similar subject. It influenced Jennifer Nettles to write Stay, performed by Sugarland, which is the other woman's perspective.
She wore this dress again at the 2018 CMA’s to perform this with Kelly Clarkson. Reba did a version of this song with Dolly Parton recently for her new album and it’s up for a Grammy this year.
Reba has sung this song with many people in concert. Reba would often sing it with a female singer she was on tour with. She has even sung it with Linda Davis’s daughter Hillary - who is part of the band Lady Antebellum (their biggest country/pop hit was “Need You Now”. Liza was sitting next to Billy Stritch - one of her best friends and collaborators. I believe he co-wrote the song. Vince Gill (the guy at the end) jokes about Reba finally having a good duet partner because Reba sang a duet with him and I think it became his first top 10 hit early in his career.
You really need to see the music videos for both, "The Night the Lights Went Out in Georgia, and this song. The stories played out in the videos will be cemented into your mind forever.
Reba and Linda did this song on an elevated platform right over my head at Arco Arena back in the 90's. They were so close I could reach up and grab their feet. They both are such incredibly beautiful women. Linda Davis is no joke as a singer either.
And talking about her dress... lol you cant even tell on a screen. She opened the show with Fancy, but she's not on stage when the song starts. She's singing but you only see her up on a screen above the stage in the cab from the video. Then as soon as she really starts into it the cab comes out on the stage and she steps out in this just voluptuous fur coat. But she wears that until she gets to the first fancy part when she drops it... I swear to god you could hear gasps around the entire arena. She had this white sequin gown on and there were blue lights underneath her and they made it look like she was literally wrapped in blue lightning. You could see her on the screen above and they just slightly sparkled, but there, in person, she was wreathed in blue lightning, and to this day it was one of the most absolutely amazing things I've ever seen in my life.
The official music video to this song adds its own aspects to the story of this song, which are interesting. Linda Davis's daughter is Hillary Scott, the female lead of the country music group Lady A.
This is a classic performance. Your response that they don't do music like this anymore, is why so many of us are disappointed in today's country music. Linda, Davis, just so you know was part of Reba‘s vocal group for years years and years and Reba helped her start her her own career or tried to get her started and this is one of those songs where she stepped up on stage and they sang together instead of her, just singing vocals in the background for Rebapretty awesome

Linda Davis is so under rated and under appreciated for her spectacular voice and ability
