    It's true. Engineers in their early career get pressured to do exactly that and it takes a lot away from the real representation of project budget and estimates, not the mention the stress on the people working for those teams. It probably causes more frequent change orders, a number of other ethical issues, and also changes the environment in the workplace when we learn that the brand that some of these companies sell to us, as employees, is also not true. Thank you for sharing.

    What support does ASCE offer to those faced with pressure to complete time-sheets differently than they feel comfortable? When an engineer is faced with the direct influence of supervisors, who have a degree of control over the engineer's ability to provide sustenance to a family, these ethical considerations can seem rather abstract. It is one step to assert the rules but the degree of support provided for their implementation makes a substantial difference in how well the rules are followed.
