  • We're getting yet another tech tree line of light cruisers - which, as a light cruiser main, makes me rather happy. So let's jump in and do a quick tour of what's coming up, new mechanics, and a round in the T7.

    Ohhhhh my Atlantico needs combat instruction to go with the bug-less turrets 😊

    It's interesting that these ships are getting combat instructions, which I also doubted that the combat instructions would never reach Blitz. All in all, I actually played La Argentina, the Tier V ship of the Pan-American cruiser, and I had a blast. Soon, we can expect the Spanish cruisers to arrive. Well, more like next year.

    I find funny the fact the tier 9 cruiser is called Santander, the name of a bank company here in South America.
    By the way, it seems the combat instructioms slightly reduce the reload time when activated.

  • @ignatius_rage
    @ignatius_rage 11 месяцев назад +4

    Well, the good news is, it doesn’t look like this will break the meta.
    It appears to be in-between the British light cruisers and the American light cruisers.
    Honestly, my first impression is that I would rather play either the British or the American over this, but time will tell.
    Thanks, Terry

      I think it's an interesting addition. I quite like both USN and RN CL lines (but then, to be fair, I like all CL lines), and I'd always be happy to play another support cruiser.

    The AA range on the T10 is the same of the Worcester, that's very good point. The damage AA is more low, but with a range improvement (AA range on slot 3 and perhaps 1), we can have a other good AA platform ship. I'm very curious about the AA of the T8 and T9.
    I think try this line, seems funny to play and really not over power (no nerf to expect 😂).

    • @FunandGameswithTerry

      Just from the numbers, for me, an AA build is probably over-specialised. I'll need rudder shift in 3, I think, but we'll see. Definitely nice to have more AA cruisers in the field

    Oh yeah I remember watching flamu’s hilarious video on this ship line for PC! Basically after tier 7 it turns into the “It can be assumed” line of make believe Worcesters that “could have been” sold to to South American counties after the war! 😂

    • @FunandGameswithTerry
      @FunandGameswithTerry  11 месяцев назад

      Well, at this point, there aren't any major navies left to introduce, so you got to start making stuff up... most of the Pan-Asian lines are in the same boat (pun intended)

    • @stevenmoore4612
      @stevenmoore4612 11 месяцев назад

      @@FunandGameswithTerry Yeah that is true they are running low on real ships. However, there were a few proposals submitted to Wargaming by South American players of cruiser lines that were made up of real historical ships all the way to tier 9 with 10 being a concept design. It’s almost as if they completely ignored the proposals sent to them and just copy pasted already existing ships and threw them into a tech line.

      @FunandGameswithTerry  11 месяцев назад +2

      It's interesting, but at the same time, they're very powerful. I see the CIs as RR/PA combos with pen boost - they'll need to be really careful which guns to give that to ;) But I'm glad to see new mechanics like this added.

    In the description it mentions, the reload is reduced as well (you can actually see a 10% decrease in the recorded battle).
    30% faster reload and more pen+accuracy on high tiers seems pretty powerful to me

    • @FunandGameswithTerry
      @FunandGameswithTerry  11 месяцев назад

      Yes, it's effectively a PA/RR combo skill with added pen. The pen is a double-edged sword though, if you're in a duel with a DD, and you pop the skill to get more shells on target, you also suddenly start overpening. With CI active, they start feeling like the Elbing line's guns.

    As disappointing as the nationality and naval flag is I am holding off on the U.K. battle cruiser split line for a a few months of silver, blue prints & free Xp grind to get up to at least TVII day one of tech tree launch. Notes : The “Pan - American “ navy’s were very well equipped with the very best of WW2 era USN ships including CV’s . Many USN cruisers found themselves serving in “Pan-American “ navies and one being quite “famous - infamous “ and very likely the reason for the generic flags .

  • @kardy12

    Nice, a new use for my maxed pan American commander that I ground to test how the pre-nerf Atlantico without the lvl 12 deck protection skill compared with a post-nerf Atlantico without and with the lvl 12 skill - couldn’t stand touching the Atlantico since then 😂
    It seems like a pretty interesting line with its own gimmick. Will be interesting to try out, even for a BB/BC player like myself.

    • @FunandGameswithTerry
      @FunandGameswithTerry  11 месяцев назад

      I think if you've got some prior experience with British light cruisers, you'll feel right at home. Otherwise, I find (from my very limited testing so far) that the guns have comfortable penetration, and with the skill active, you can take deck shots at battleships without too much loss of damage. Otherwise, bow/stern is always a good target.

  • @johnnyzippo7109
    @johnnyzippo7109 10 месяцев назад

    The “Ignacio Allende “ a Brooklyn Class USN Cruiser proves my point . And clearly this is a serious matter because it is so in the PC version as well . Hint , read up on a certain ship that was a “General”.

    • @FunandGameswithTerry
      @FunandGameswithTerry  10 месяцев назад +1

      I'll assume you mean the sinking of the ARA "General Belgrano", and the surrounding controversy. Not sure if that's influencing here - WG certainly has to manoeuvre in legal waters at times, like the Kriegsmarine flag in-game showing the Iron Cross instead of a certain other symbol - but at least from my memory, things around that Falklands action, while still a sore spot, have at least been cleared legally.
      That said, I haven't looked into that particular conflict in years, so maybe that's a good opportunity for me to brush up again :)

    • @johnnyzippo7109
      @johnnyzippo7109 10 месяцев назад

      All of my assumptions regarding this matter stem from past censoring , mainly the Belfast, when after release the Union Jack was removed from the top of the bow superfiring turret and the camo at release being a spot on copy was also modified . Then of course all IJN ships had the bow imperial flower removed . So clearly folks have a lot to say about censoring historic features of the ships in game , especially ones that were real . As always , love the channel and thank you for the reviews .

  • @hattrick8684

    Looks like CI reduces the reload as well. It was 5.5 then when active 4.5 or 4.9. Couldn’t tell exactly but it was def less then standard. Wonder if that’s a bug or intended. If intended if the higher tier gives a better boost?

    • @FunandGameswithTerry
      @FunandGameswithTerry  11 месяцев назад

      That's intended, and yes, the higher tiers give better boosts. It's effectively a RR/PA combo skill with a chargeup instead of a cooldown. I think 30% at T10, from memory.

  • @Autooo22
    @Autooo22 11 месяцев назад +1

    It seems like these cruisers have improved AP pen over the RN CL’s based on the low amount of bounces you got on those battleships. I’m not entirely sure about that, but if that’s the case, then this line should be pretty fun.

    • @FunandGameswithTerry
      @FunandGameswithTerry  11 месяцев назад

      That was my feel as well, the pen seems better. Especially with the combat instruction active, I think they're going to play quite nice. We'll see if they do anything on balancing, wouldn't be the first line...

  • @mwata1445
    @mwata1445 11 месяцев назад

    Seems interesting! When you released your first shot, an "hooo" jumped out of my mouth :) I like high velocity shells with lower arcs.
    Could'nt the tier x be compared to the Mino in some ways?

    • @FunandGameswithTerry
      @FunandGameswithTerry  11 месяцев назад

      Tier 10 seems like a Mino-Worcester hybrid, almost. I did some very limited testing yesterday, and yes, she can citadel an Izumo through the deck with the combat instruction active. Not reliably, and of course, these are 150s, so not too much impact, but satisfying.
      One big problem Mino and Worcester share is the arcs; I haven't done direct comparison, but here, they feel better. Interesting line indeed.

    • @FunandGameswithTerry
      @FunandGameswithTerry  11 месяцев назад

      once it's "charged up", it won't charge any further. When you activate it, you get the benefits, and once the activation has expired, you'll start charging again. The charge-up is technically unlimited usage, but due to simple math, there's only so many times in battle you'll be able to use it.

    Unfortunately due to a certain War in the S. Atlantic circa 1982 their will never be the appropriate national flags on the “Pan-American” ships , noting , if they can’t even be named cardinal direction opposite of North American ships , yeah , ain’t gonna happen . Yes for historic reasons it is unfortunate but that is the way it goes and really our S. American brother and sisters are a very important part of the total number of players on the N. American server , so as to prevent folks living in certain “Pan-American” countries from being Geo-Location Locked out of the game , then oh well . I started playing for the historic side of it , but it isn’t worth losing a large group of players over this . Hopefully one day all this non sense will be seen for what it is , non sense , but it is what it is .

    They're called Panamerican because Mexico is in North America and the tier 3, Vicente Guerrero, is a Mexican ship. The destroyers will likely have a gearing class tier 10, also Mexican, called Quetzalcoatl

      The thing with the flags is probably a placeholder right? I imagine they want to fix that before release.
      San Martin looked godly in Boblyn's video preview. I'm worried it's going to make my current grind to Wooster and Mino obsolete. Hell even Henri is on thin ice since the combat instructions also gives a reload buff, something i didn't catch you mention in this video. Combat instructions is basically Rapid Reload, Precise aim, and one of the penetration camos rolled into one and infinite charges.
