World of Warships Blitz - Tech Tree Talk : German Battlecruisers

- Let's take a look across the new, alt-history tech tree line of German battlecruisers that's currently in the preview. I'll talk a bit about what's unique about them, and we'll play a quick round in the Mackensen. Individual ship reviews to come.
Игры
I’m super excited for this line. As a aggressive battleship player who always gets In caps this will be a amazing
And the tier 8 looks like a star destroyer with its super structure
Same here, but the challenge will be to compensate for the lack of armour. I'll start testing T9 and 10 this week, reviews should be ready next week
@@FunandGameswithTerry good
I think building them for concealment is really worth it, especially at t8 and above. As you said, they are very squishy and it has already saved my life more than once to have that sub 9km concealment and decide which engagements I want to take or not. Whats also quite nice is that you can reducde the concealment of the T9 and 10 (not sure about the latter as I dont own it yet) to a range where your secondaries can immediately start shooting anything that detects you (theres a 0.02km gap if you use concealment mod and a permanent camo)
I totaly love PEF (Prinz Eitel Frederich) and are realy looking forward to this line :-) Looks like the perfect combo between battelship and cruser. And always secondary build on these things! Thx Terry for the video :-)
Same, PEF is amazing at mid-tier. Having tested 7 and 8, I'm quite curious to see how these work in top tiers.
One of the best parts of this line is from tier 6 through 10 the Y turret is 360 degrees on them. Really helps in a brawl when you need to switch targets. I like this line I have the Zieten and Mackensen. Mackensen and the tier 9 seem like the best in this line tier for tier.
With this line coming out, I hope some of the premium ships (Odin, Siegfried, etc.) get an increase to their secondary overload skills.
I feel like they are already strong enough on their own already, especially Odin, buffing would make her into a pay-to-win ship
Waiting for this kind of information thanks terry for making this video😇
I love these ships. I adore the Scharnhorst and thought they were a bit the same, just with lower armor.
I have been grinding the victory-blitz thingy and just got the tier VII and its sneaky-secondary-camouflage. The Mackinsen was amazballs fun to play.
Yeah, especially in mid-tier, where battles are often all-out brawls anyway, these ships really shine
@@FunandGameswithTerryI'm on the EU server, and its not as static as the asian one (I think).
The VII is fun and does pretty well. Done 8ish games and is at 60k dmg/match.
Got up against a Genisenau in 1v1 and it just melted.
Great video
I was just wondering when or if they'd ever put German battlecruisers into the game. They even had 2 more battlecruiser classes to be built just before the end of WW1, but obviously they were cancelled.
I think once you reach mackensen, concealment mod becomes mandatory for these ships
Unlike the main line, these ships actually have very good concealment for sneaking around to get into a good position
It seems these boats are more around making use of concealment and islands to set up an ambush then quickly take out an enemy in a 1v1 then utilize said concealment to disengage
I know this is out of context
But concealment mod on Italian BBs is hella strong. Since the BBs themselves aren't the most survivable, having the ability to disengage with smoke and go dark with concealment makes them rather strong
I'm not sold on the concealment build for the BCs (yet). I think T9 and 10 will define that for me, T8 is ... special. My main gripe with concealment is that it's only really useful until I start blazing away, and once I do, I find it rather hard to stop for long enough to go dark again.
I think another aspect I may need to change is to play them as mid-range brawlers, rather than close up. That may be the point behind defaulting the 150s to HE as well. The armour (at least so far) is really cruiser-level, and they melt away like nobody's business. Problem is, at 7km it'll be hard to get the seamines on target...
I'm seeing more and more mentions of BB concealment builds. RN BBs, RM BBs - I'll have to start testing these a bit more, for an aggressive player like myself, "disengage" is usually not in my dictionary :)
@@FunandGameswithTerry well, if you turn away at the right time, then it will save your ship with help of concealment. I play my Italian BBs that way. Andrea goes down to 7.5 i believe
@@FunandGameswithTerry in my POV, knowing when to disengage is definently an absolute nessecity when it comes to these ships
When setting up a brawl, you dont just need to plan what to do before the brawl but after it as well, you gotta make sure youve got an exit route after you have done away with an enemy, killing off that enemy battleship is gonna be pointless when you get killed by their teammates shortly after
In the main line, you can get away with not disengaging (to some extent) because they have the armour but definently not the BCs, they cannot afford to take a hit in the same way so knowing when to get out is very important
Concealment is not just for disengaging but it can also be used agressively, with good stealth, speed, and smart usage of islands, you can rapidly close the distance with an enemy without them knowing but of course you need trigger patience for that, a concealment build is kinda pointless if you immediately fire the very second something steps within your maximum range
"Especially in the Asia server it is a bit campy" I blew my beer out my nose when you said that and could not stop laughing. They should charge camping fees for outside the circle in Asia sever imagine the money they could make 😅😂
It's "campground zero" over there. Yet, that's where my press account is, so I'll have to test top tiers. We shall see how that goes.
@@FunandGameswithTerry agreed 👍 also PPL tend to kill PPL with the press tag *cough* *cough*
I have Prinz Heinrich from the event and I can say that she's a fun boat.
I have been enjoying the tier 7. As you said difficulty level is higher but with some practice it become a fun ship to play. Plus I have a lot of experience with torpedo battleships seeing as wargaming feels like I should have all the Japanese torpedo battleships. A German version is a very nice change.
I'll have the full review coming up, but it's an interesting ship to play for sure. T7 is still very much doable, but against skilled opponents, you'll notice the lack of armour. Takes a shift in mindset - yes, you're playing a German "BB", but you must not tank :)
I faced Mackensens in NA. They are kinda busted in a good way. They bring so much firepower to the table and the armor holds up to T5s and T6s. Plus hydro and sec overload just pumps it up to eleven. I faced one in an Andrea Doria, and I managed to bring it down to low HP with 2 cits and a lot of pens in the 4 salvoes I fired, but that Mackensen just murdered me within that time
She's the sister of the Prinz Eitel, after all. If you're facing someone who knows how to utilise the 150mm AP...
Terry; would it be worth bringing up to WarGaming that the Prinz Eitel Friedrich should be able to have it's rear turret do a 360* spin also? Like the line of ships it represents.
I think by the next update or two, Blitz will introduce the British Battlecruisers. I play PC and the British BC's were in Early Access (which I got the HMS Queen Mary and HMS Tiger Tier IV and V BC's). Anyway I think that's still very much ahead. I have the Moltke and its a fun ship. I mostly found myself always focused down on which doesn't make my experience very pleasing, but I love this new line. And these are secondary focused, like in PC. Kinda on par, but its still a bit too early for me to say since even in PC I only have the Moltke and am grinding for Derfflinger.
Italian destroyers are next
@@TheUltimateBastich I can see that happening. But the British BC's are coming too although not sure. They are still in Early Access in PC so it's a matter of time before they get to Blitz as well. And they might be hell to play lol with literally less armor than their BB counterparts
I haven't bought a blitz pass in a long time. You either get tech tree ships which you'll be able to get for free our a premium that seems underpowered.
Same tbh. I'd get it for the resources if I had the time to grind, but since I'm probably 60/40 between press & personal, there's not really a point for me.
I lost my account and it had fdg so now im going to grind the german battlecruiser line cuz theyre good on pc
So… if you think of these as big cruisers with a big hit point pool and good armor, you should be good? The secondaries seem to be as good as cruiser guns. So think of your main guns and torps as a bonus? Great tutorial. I am looking forward to starting this line
Terry i have question is it worth it to get the gk i personally think that up until tier 6 i am perfectly fine but i just want to know is it worth it to one day get the gk or should i just stop at tier VIII with the tirpitz and Bismarck and play mostly at tier 6
I just started grinding this line but with a level 12 legendary CDR
That should be fun
Compared to French BBs how protected are the Battlecruisers?
I haven't done in-detail testing, but from my gut feeling so far, pretty comparable. Both lines are about speed and firepower over armour. You definitely can't tank in the BCs as you would in the German BBs.
@@FunandGameswithTerry Alright sir thank you
@@elexanderbauson Armor seems pretty good, but they do have a lower hp pool.
The biggest difference with this tech tree from the original KMS BB line is speed increase, slow reload, and less tanky
From event... worth get the tier 7 (+ Camo) or tier 8 (without camo)?
So, how do they compare in gameplay and stats with the American Battlecruiser line? The Iowa, Montana and the NC.
Oh, don't let the Americans hear that... they're "fast battleships" XD
The USN BB line are long-range ships, mostly. Not overly precise, but can hit you from the other side of the map. The German battlecruisers shine in secondary range, and trade more damage potential for weaker armour, compared to the German BB line. So two pretty different playstyles.
@FunandGameswithTerry it's our little secret. They're "fast battleships".
I think go to T10 on this line, only a lot of free experience to save...for not play with the T9. 😂 Because, I don't have the blueprints for one t9 and one t10, only for one of the two.
Main problem with this line, like the BB : the CV!
And it's more a problem here, because we don't have the same amount of PS than a Kurfurst. So if we loose too many PS by planes, we can make nothing special before to be sink....
Air is definitely a weak point for those ships, together with the deceptively thin armour. They take huge amounts of AP damage, but it's a balancing factor towards the amount of firepower they have.
I have T6 and T8 new German battle ships they are really great and T8 battle ship's torpedo are really useful.
On PC the Schlieffen line is mainly secondary base and should have secondary builds, starting with Mackensen
I think you should update your video of "How to pronounce German ships" since we have received three new lines of German ships ever since.....
Also I found out that these ships play more like Ägir and Siegfried than the actual German Battleships. I share the feeling that they should have cruiser icons instead.
Yeah, I need to do an update on that one, good idea.
Also great point about the supercruisers, definitely a familiar feel from when I tested them.
I got the Schlieffen yesterday. I feel like she’s pretty good in the NA server.
However, she might struggle in the Asian server due to the tradition of long range brawling in Asian players.
I'll be starting to test T9 and 10 this week, on Asia, so yeah, we'll see how that goes :)
@@FunandGameswithTerry Thanks Terry!
hows the mackensen compared to the PEF?
Both good ships. I've posted a comparison on the channel community page.
You have a playstyle for Zieten?
Full review coming up on Saturday, but this one may be a difficult one. It's an extremely situational ship, plays like a T8 Gneisenau with a weird gun layout and poor manoeuvrability.
360 rear turret?
The t10 seem to have too much armor now.. but that’s typical for new lines in 2-3 months change come
Give prinz eitel secondary boost 😊
Yes i hate the switching with torps on a bb, i know what i do i watch the map and stuff i dont need to be forced out of sniper mode 🤣
PEF with secondary overload... that thing is powerful enough as it is XD
I haven't tested the T10 yet, but the armour in T8, oooh boy...
These do look like alot of fun but the whole "Super Nuremberg" thing at 8 or 9 (can't remember which) is not gonna be fun.
Ah, that would be the Zieten. Coming up on Saturday.
Sir could you please review zietan and guide for gameplay
Zieten review coming up on Saturday.
@@FunandGameswithTerry tyvm
Can’t wait to see these as bots 🤣😂. So much guns
Bots are actually restricted to only the initial USN and IJN lines that were there when the game came out
@@FunandGameswithTerry oh man you are right. Never made that connection until now. Well that’s a bummer. Oh well.
@@FunandGameswithTerry In the words of some old TV show, “Thank the Gods!” (Xena?)
I don't have these in my game.
They should be released soon
I'm sure people will try it but I'm not really excited about it with our lack of armor angling mechanics. I don't see it becoming the new meta. Vermont, Yamato, etc will enjoy the free candy.
From my testing so far, I'll have to agree that they're a niche, but I think that's good. In the end, we want things that are balanced, and the damage potential of T9 and 10, at least on paper, is off the charts.
Can it do anything beyond tier 6 that another ship cannot already do well? I guess I'm looking for their role. Seems more a random battles fun boat for a change of feel. I can't see myself asking someone to play this competitive to counter an enemy boat and give up one of the 3 battleship slots. I could be wrong though.
How to get the real world of warships press acc my friend is saying we need to write a letter to the wargaming Center and we need to make only Videos about world of warships blitz and if you did the Talk and max give you the press acc or not and if you get it you need to do Videos again about These ships they can decline it again if you have it
You mean for PC? This link, probably, but don't have any personal experience with it worldofwarships.com/en/content/contributors-program/
No for android and iOS i mean Tablet and Smartphone
@@FunandGameswithTerry can you do a Tutorial about IT an what you get If you did this
wowsblitz.com/en/contributor-program/ is the form for Blitz. Can't really say much else, since it's up to WG

From the German Battlecruisers i have fought they are all not really that good.
Especially the Prinz Heinrich which in almost every encounter i had, got evaporated by my Gneisenau
That's something I think people will realize soon - the BCs looks deceptively "ok armoured" on paper, but the actual thickness stats mean that they'll take massive AP damage. That, and I think (not confirmed) that they don't get the "turtleback" mechanic Gneisenau and everything above gets.
Heinrich coming up on Thursday. They take skill to use successfully.
