I believe I used coal to buy one container. Got the ship. Strange how that worked out.
For me it is less of a big Spee and more like baby Siegfried with reload booster. Got mine on the 5th box, really happy with it.

I was lucky, intended to buy the first three bundles & got in the last 3 crate bundle. Cost me 1500 dubs, so very happy. Would not have spent more on boxes.

Like I said in PQ's video, I really wish that the Agir, Sieg and Schroder has hat 30mm icebreaker, it would make them so dang well to play.
Thank you for the review! Quick update, I tossed in the dubs for 3 boxes and got the ship, so will be setting sail soon (and keeping my almost complete German Premium Fleet collection.... just need the Odin).
My experience was everyone wants to shoot the new ship.
Wargaming is quickly reaching a hard-stop saturation level for these "premium ships". Players who have been playing World of Warships for a few years and have 100+ ships don't need another Tier 8 cruiser and aren't going to spend $100+ buying another cruiser. Maybe a few players who haven't been playing the game for too long might buy this ship.

Yes, that's a perverse thing about these games: longtime customers are often not the profitable ones, for exactly the reasons you gave.
Like any business, they need to focus where the sales opportunities are.
Yeah that's kind why WG is so invested in churning the player base. They aren't as interested in retaining veterans because it's harder to sell them new ships. Much easier to sell ships to Noobs.
I personally think that's a mistake and that they should be moving away from selling ships as their primary means of income and maybe somebody there feels that way too since the premium battle pass is a way for them to get away from ship sales and push people more towards a monthly subscription. It's simply that the game economy isn't geared that way yet and it's going to take them a long time to retool it away from here's another new paper premium.
Coming soon I would say we are looking at European cruisers given the either or cruise event they just did.
The Schill is an exceedingly handsome ship for sure like other German ships. I wish they added in a heal for the Leipzig, too. I mean, come on, it got accidentally rammed by Prinz Eugen and still survived! WG, you can do it sirs! I would have gotten it in a heartbeat.

Interestingly enough, on CIS server it has different characteristics. Has 15 sec reload, 14 km torpedoes and a torpedo reload booster (no heal though).
oof. I'll take this over the CIS version. The heal allows you to stay in the fight longer
@@KineticRhyme To be fair, you can get it completely for free, with no strings attached (no containers and things like that). Also, i'm not sure but it probably doesn't have the battleship fire/flooding duration
and she gets like 60k hp (still prefer our version)

I was lucky to get the ship spending only gifted doubloons on the 5th attempt so for me a free ship. I missed out on the Graf Spee so I was pleased to get this. So far 66% success and I'm enjoying it. I did find I needed to shoot and scoot as I was targeted a lot and having to use only one turret because of the broadside problem. Its a raider which avoids any and all fair fights.

agreed, secondaries a nice surprise when I first took her out, went and built in to them immediately after, really nice now.
The only issue I have with it are the 60s fire durations. The armour is really solid, the guns are really consistent and nutty with the reload booster.
It doesnt have the best top speed but seems to have a high average at like 28knt. Then a heal, spotter plane, and 6km hydro with torps is really noice. Its pretty mental in t8 ranked battles.
I lucked out, and got it cheap third bundle , the Sea Gods must like me.
I have the ship (lucky to get it in a container) and I think 6/10 is a little harsh, it’s very decent and the AP slaps
I was unlucky and had to get a "couple" of crates to get the ship, but as long as you dont give broadside, she can tank like a des moine. The heal they added is nice and the reload booster.
What is the armour on the inside of the turtleback 27? That’s the most important armour.

Bought 4 containers, 3 for dubloons, 1 for coal. Havent got Schill, but drops from these crates wasnt so terrible. I like to gamble a little from time to time. Maybe i get some other ship next time, when simillar "event" happens ;)
Personally, I think Heavy AP Shells is a trap skill. In the video you provided, you did 115,672 firing only AP. Had you not taken HAPS, you would have done 109,888, a difference of 5784. I think you would be better off sacrificing a 1 point skill and HAPS and using Top Grade Gunner.
@mountatten Are you allergic to the reload booster, or did you just forget about it? There were several times where I almost screamed at the screen for you to use your reload booster against broadside ships.
I got Atago when she first went on sale like...what...7 years ago now? Still one of my favorite cruisers. And sadly, I am just now putting a concerted effort into finally getting through the US Cruiser line to get Des Moines. lol

I got the gold to get the bundles and got the ship in the 3rd bundle set in one of the box’s lol figures … I also have every ship in game so gotta have my new German ship love the German ships
P-class is the third version of the Pocket Battleship. Deutchland-class 16k ton, D-class about 20k ton(uparmored and speed 28 to 29 knots), P-class 25k ton (even more armored and speed is up to 33-34 knots, gun-wise 30.5cm or even 33cm gun).
Btw Schill's guns are the Scharnhorst guns not the Graf Spee(guns are longer on the Scharnhorst(28cm SK C/34) then Deutchland(28cm SK C/28)).
I got him in 8-9 container and I am very happy with the ship
First they remove Graf Spee from the armory, then they release a better version.
Spee was removed years ago, because she absolutely dominated ranked and CBs

Depends, if an Eugen can kite you, the Schill pretty much can't do anything but disengage or just die. But if you catch one not paying attention or not respecting your guns, he's going to suffer^^ I devstruck an Eugen already with my Schill for example.

This ship SHINES in Operations...and that is the sole reason I bought her. I won't play a single Random battle in her. But you can absolutely do work with her in Ops, especially with a full secondary and torpedo damage build. But to your point, the bots in Operations seem to have really good fire chance.
My thought is that this ship would shine in ranked or clan battles ESPECIALLY if the new commander skill rework goes through!
I don't know why but when I look at this ship, I see a big version of the Elbing
Honestly i would love to see if they added lutzow, in game terms she is a graf spee who is slightly faster but less armour
Lutzow/Deutschland and Scheer have long been on my list of ships I wanted to see in game.

I bought the $35USD 7,500 dubs + 30 days of premium time bund;e, and figured I would burn through that and if I didn't get the Schill I would at least get some flags and 30 days of premium time. I got her in the 4th bundle. So I'm pretty happy I only had to spend $35 and got the ship, some flags, and still have some dubs left over! Great review, as always!
Update: Schill needs to chill out in Ranked. This thing, with it's strong bow armor and "box-o-gimmicks" is absolutely merciless. Out of the 11 matches I've played today, I've won 9. I am not saying that He can carry a bad team, but when you are alone on a flank, you are certainly able to stand your ground.

paid 1500 of my 4000 doubs won in festive tokens, bought 5 boxes and BINGO Schill, very nice ship and very capable of big scores, recommended to pick up.
i got it in first bundle for 75 dabs was lucky i like her.
I picked it up for the second container bundle so I think it cost me 450 or less dubs. I've been playing since beta and rarely win ships so I hope to hear good things.
Graf Spee also has 8 k torps.
one thing I don't get is why is 20mm and 30 mm of armor on bows or stern a good thing when we are talking about 8 inch 12 inch 14 inch guns shooting at it? I thought these values would be like 200mm or something
overmatch, extra 20-30mm isn't good to stop the round directly, but can cause ricochet at higher angles
in game there's 14.3x shell caliber to armor rule when shell ignores ricochet chance completely (aka 406mm can completely ignore up to 28mm regardless of angle)
If one of those large shells hits your armor at over 60 degrees angle and does not exceed the 14.3 ratio (caliber to armor) it will harmlessly ricochet.

Just wait a few months and it will be available for a lot less money or maybe even coal...
So far I really like her but I got her for 50k coal and 1500 dubs. I got damn lucky though and the containers you get if you don't get lucky are like Davis 380 levels of trash. I don't recommend others gamble on these.
but why do you run the SHIP XP econ bonus on your ship... you're not gonna do anything with that XP, its better to save that those bonuses for your tech line ships that you're upgrading
The only reason to run it is if you can only get a few matches in that day it will get you your three containers faster.
Sorry, I don't understand how cruisers at tier 6, being able to be taken out by a single 14" shell, would require the Graf Spee with 11" guns to have awful gun handling for balance purposes.
Because of the German AP characteristics, improved pens, high alpha damage. GS would absolute dominate T5-6 cruisers if her guns could actually consistently hit their targets
Seems to be a big upgrade to a weak T6 cruiser Graph Spee. 20 s duration. reload booster, much better pen and accuracy. Too bad my first 11 containers showed no luck... Maybe I'll buy some more
It's not really an upgrade from the Graf. What makes the Graf special is the heal for a cruiser at T6 which makes it pretty strong if you can manage your hp well. At T8 half the cruisers have heal.

To me she does not feel like a pazerschiffe. The while doctrine was she should able to out run anything she cant out gun, and out gun anthing she cant out run. For me she doesn't Cherbourg and Congress out gun her one has better HE and the other better AP. Graf Spee's other big strength that schill doesn't have is being able to over match a lot of cruisers one tier lower than her.
well when panzerschiffe design was conceived most of the large ships could only do between 21-23kts with 25kts on good day
in the end its still heavy cruiser design that traded speed and gun quantity for larger caliber with P class being just further expansion of that design, instead of more ground up "Small Battlecruiser/Large Cruiser" Design like Cherbourg/Congress
So. I bought 3 containers from bundle Couse i Had doublons just enough for that and in second container i got the ship. LOL

I find the ship to be frustrating.
14:50 GS is a bully, even with the anti-German bias. You simply have to aim where the target is, not where the ship is.
Big Dissappointment so far.
Its extremely Weakly Armored. Which makes it a very easy to Kill Cruiser because its so Big.
Its effectively the Armor of a Normal Cruiser but the Size of a Super Cruiser.
On top of that it has only 44k Base HP which is Pitiful for a Ship of this Size with such weak Armor.
And only 2 Base Heals. Which is even more Pitiful.
The Guns are an Upgrade over Graf Spee. But only Minor. And only if You include the Reload Booster.
Meaning that its Firepower on T8 is Completely Underwhelming.
In total. Schill is Extremely Weak and really not good for anything.
It Dies extremely Quickly. Gets Huge Damage from both AP and HE from any Angle. Only being able to Tank AP Damage from Cruisers and Lower Tier BBs.
Its Guns are Nice against Potatoes that give You Broadside. But will do absolutely nothing against anyone who knows how to Angle.
It can Perform Decently in a T6-8 Game most of the Time. But in T8-10 its Generally very Weak and will Struggle to do anything useful. Being mostly Forced to Stay at Range where its just Weaker than most other Cruisers.
Its just Extremely Situational and will most of the Time just be Bad.
So Yeah. No. Dont get it. Its not worth the Money WG Demands for it. And its really not going to be usable for anyone but very Good Players which can Compensate for alot of Downsides to make use of the very Situational Upsides.
Right now.
If You like German Ships and want to get it anyways. Wait for it to be out Regular. Not sure what its gonna sell for. But frankly its not worth Real Money.
For this Ship to be be worth Spending any Real Money. WG would need to give it an Additional Heal and Increase the HP to 52k. Alternatively they could increase the Armor to be mostly 30mm and having a 50mm Icebreaker instead of the 30mm one which doesnt work against most T8 and above BBs.
Because otherwise. The Ship just doesnt Survive getting into Close Range Combat. Which is the only thing where it Performs well.
Of course they could also just go the other Route and Focus on the Guns. Giving them a 3 Second Reduction to the Base Reload. Effectively making them Fire every 17 Seconds. And then Increasing the Base Range to 20km. So it basicly fills a Similar Role to Hindenburg. Just with a bit more Salvo Damage that can get through almost anything. But with even less DPS.
But that would just create another Rearline Sniper which the Game really doesnt need.
So Yeah. Seriously. Hands off that one.

Recent change? Last I knew, German HE got a bonus to armor penetration, which makes it stronger.
German HE gets reduced Alpha in exchange for higher pen, 1/4 pen instead of the typical 1/6 pen. When most other cruisers are shattering, German HE is doing damage.
I hate it, useless. Thank for it cost me 375 dubs
