    I like how encouraging you are of your students! I’ve had teachers that only pick on your weak points and it’s a big blow to the self esteem when you’re getting 3 other things right. Seeing you encourage your students for the things they get right brings such a level of confidence and passion from your students that they clearly feel empowered and want to keep practicing! I’ve finally found myself a good vocal coach who encourages me for what I’m doing well and it’s made the world of difference to my confidence, and I’ve increased 4 octaves in just two weeks, because I’ve always been told I had limits by other coaches, or classified my voice type and said I can go from here to here, when I can actually go 2 octaves higher & 2 octaves deeper, but haven’t known that until I was 30, because I was only just told I can go deeper than what I realise and it was explained to me how to reach those notes!! A good coach makes the world of difference!! Bravo 👏

      Thank you so much for sharing your experience and for your kind words. It’s amazing to hear how much you’ve progressed and how your confidence has grown. A positive approach and motivation are key to unlocking true vocal potential, and I’m glad you’ve found a coach who helps you reach your goals. Keep working with that passion, and I’m sure you’ll achieve even more! Bravo 👏

    My understanding of singing is that it is all regarding the speed of the frequencies emitted from vocal cords and letting resonate in the appropriate areas of the skull. The lower and slower frequencies will vibrate in mouth-oropharynx and higher and faster frequencies will go into the mask-nasopharynx. Singing It is all about science...

    Excelente video Giancarlo!

    I am a natural Contralto! I don't know what to do to project my voice, the low notes are tricky. I have them. l have many but the sound is not very big at all. I don't have any operatic training.
    If l try some things now and then my neighbors would exclaim l sound like a guy if l attempt songs in pop music without really knowing what I'm doing. I often sing in the same key with male pop songs. l want that dark, ringing, intense, penetrating sound that men produce, but fact is the typical Contralto signature sound is just mellow and sombre. 😅

      Thank you for sharing your story! As a natural Contralto, finding that resonance and projection can be tricky, but it’s definitely possible with the right approach. Low notes need support, space, and relaxation in the throat to sound more powerful and rich. If you’re aiming for that natural dark, intense sound, focusing on opening the pharynx and using diaphragmatic support will be key. Remember that every voice is unique, so it’s important to work with what you have while refining it. Keep experimenting and developing! GM.

      Thank you kindly for your advice. You just reminded l once saw a gentleman perform a duet with his operatic Contralto friend. She was mostly singing in her high register but what fascinated me was she dropped her jaw a few times to let out this incredible dark, ringing note. I suspect they were G4's in pure chest voice: the one note that makes Contraltos unique among singers. I have this ability in my voice as well, it's very thick and nearly pitch black. I'm anxious to learn control it, and l wish to "climax" that one like Lila Downs. ruclips.net/video/OQVJaZPdofA/видео.htmlsi=wFSjLfzFU4s1dpek
      I've made a lot of progress with my chest register in the past month. More stable, more solid, clearer. It's still a shock to me what sounds come out, and the colour is different from what I'm used to when l was younger. I wish to write a book profiling the rarity and beauty of the Contralto voice one day. It's like watching the evening sunset progressing to the midnight hour... (I've never been a morning person anyway)
      There are many people in the world who have never even heard the word "Contralto" and l would like that to change. Mimicking higher placed singers severely damaged my voice, l don't want other singers to endure the same painful things that come with that.

    Why if im try to push my larynx down i feel like i create tension

    • @miguellaruku2725
      @miguellaruku2725 2 года назад +3

      Its not about pushing it down its about relaxing the muscles around the neck and supporting from the diaphragm. Open your jaw to encourage relaxation and good support. Do mot emgage neck muscles or push the larynx down…let it maturally go low by relaxing. Heck out his other video on it. He guves you a nice exercise

    • @arthur.monticelli
      @arthur.monticelli Год назад +2

      The larynx goes lower when spaces are open. If you need to push it down, it means your throat is closed. It's not a simple thing to achieve but once you do it the first time correctly, you won't forget.

    Did you ever teach a countertenor?

    • @vassilisvouris6269

      I would ask the same thing myself. I am a countertenor who has been conditioned to believe that I am a bass baritone. I am still struggling to release my high notes.

    Thank you for the great video!
    I have a question, could you please listen to a voice clip of mine to say whether the high notes are good or not? Right now i can not afford lessons.
    Very sorry to waste your time in this manner, but thank you so much for the videos! I am not operatic in my singing, but getting that training from videos like yours really helps me to visualize the voice better and improve it.
