@@julian_behrens The only issue I can see is that samples would eat up a ton of memory , so you'd have to somehow dump some of the presets or have next to zero room for user saves . That said I would really love a granular engine on there .
Love this video and the production quality. I like your channel the most of any electeonic music RUclips channel. Hope to see more from you in the next year !
I love this video because you explore all different features in microfreak vocoder edition, this is what I'm looking for, the rest of videos are focused only in using vocoder and I'd like to see what diferences exists between normal edition and this one
I like listening to synths I already own for inspiration. You've got good sound and the samples of music you play are diverse. I'd be interested in full songs.
This is a really good overview of the firmware update. I can't wait to see his youtube video his cat burglar skills when he hits the louvre. Joking aside, I really did enjoy this.
Saw a lot of your comments on other synth videos and came to check your channel - subscribed as the result! Great video and production, thinking about getting the Vocoder Edition after all these updates :)
@@lordundhimself1310 @Markus Arike of course the white one is still available...costs 50$/€ more than the black. And the black one also got the vocoder onboard, only thing it doesnt have is the gooseneck mic, but that is also solo available from arturia for 30$.
What’s freakier, you or the Microfreak? Nice job man, you rock! Just got into desktop synths a year ago.... got a Op-1 and a Volca-FM with a Arturia keystep37 and really am having fun! I think this is my next thanks for the great demo! New sub!
Very cool and informative video! I'm a bit confused about these updates though. If I buy it right now, will it have all these updates or do they come extra in some way? Is it the same for the normal version and the white/vocoder one? Are there any presets that utilise all these great oscillator modes? Thanks in advance!
It seems I have under estimated the MicroFreak so far, it is a small but powerful synth (especially after last couple of firmware upgrades). Thank you for the review.
Some were presets, others were sounds that I improvised on the spot. Microfreak is generally easy to tweak because of the focused selection of parameters, it's pretty easy to get some nice sounds from it!
Great Video!!! I was researching to see if I should get the MicroFreak and I definitely will be now! Also how do you have the oscilloscope up on one of your monitors?? thats so cool!
ruclips.net/video/Hb59xfRgaEY/видео.html Apparently the unison is a bit of a hack built quickly off the chord mode. They hope to spend more time on it in a future update.
Thanks for the suggestion! I will not be able to reconstruct the exact preset numbers for this video, but I will try to include them in future videos. It's also a nice way to give the sound designers some credit that created the presets.
That’s something I wish all manufacturers would consider. Microfreak didn’t cause me any problems in this regards, but I have several synths that are seriously stressful for the eyes due to bright, blinking lights.
I hated them in theory, but loved them the second I played them. They are absolutely not comparable to regular keys, but I am not a key player either, so that works in my favour.
Can you do another video with M+ and MicroFreak, since in your live walkthrough it’s not very clear what to do to connect them and use them properly? I’m only asking because it’s the only 2 pieces I have and I’m trying to figure out how to get the very best out of them together
Hello! I have a question. What cable should I get so I can use this with speakers and also what speakers would you recommend? Thank you very much for your help.
I would recommend to get active monitor speakers. I have made good experiences with ADAM Audio, Genelec and Yamaha, but I am sure there are many other great speakers out there too. As for the cable, it depends in the speakers. I would consider getting a small audio mixer (Mackie for example) for convenience.Hook up MicroFreak to it with a 3.5mm to 6.3mm TRS line cable, connect the mixer to your speakers (choose se balanced cables if supported) and you’re set.
As I said in the video, I ran most sounds through some effects like reverb, delay and chorus. MicroFreak itself is of course mono and has no internal effects.
Very informative! I loved the repeating part where you said what the sound reminds you of. Helped a lot! If I may add a bit of constructive criticism: Your arm movement is a bit overdone for my taste. It's good to do it, but it feels a bit forced. The rest is just perfect. You upped your production a lot from when I watched some of your videos a few years ago.
