    Hang in there, MBTS! I had a wise man tell me something very prophetic when I was a very young man. His words were, "It's very hard for a hard-working man to soar like an eagle when he is working for a turkey..." ROTFLMBO 🤪😂🤣🤪
    I fully enjoy watching all y'all's antics! Thanks for sharing them with us!!!

    Make sure the spinning cutting direction causes the blade nut to tighten in case the cotter pin ever shears and the blade can't fly off killing everyone in the area! Lock washers or Locktite on all that stuff in a seriously vibrating area trying constantly to loosen hardware...

      The hydraulic motor should get a bypass so it can spin freely in one direction to avoid the abrupt stops, which course pressure spikes and can loosen your nut.

    😉👌🏻Excellent concept, should come in handy when clearing trees. I realize what we're seeing is probably still a work in progress (delayed video, which may already be finished) but the only things it's missing is some kind of hydraulic grapple to hold those branches from raining down on the cab, and I would weld a lifting loop for a shackle to hump that 300/400-pound thunder stick around from job to job easier. Can't wait to see this destructor in action! 🤣👌🏻Stock up on Excavator glass.

    Mike, you remind me of my grandfather. That man would see scrap parts. Get an idea in his head . Then come up with a way to make what he needed. It's amazing what you imagine in your head. Fabricate it. Then make it work. You have a great mind and a great talent Mike. You're an inspiration and your videos are a joy to watch. P.S don't worry about those grapes Aaron welded on there, a few coats of paint does wonders. 😉

      I can look at a few pictures and videos and I can make it, my brother Greg let me use his wire feed welder and I made bumpers for my 4wheeler and put curated screen in the middle of it to keep the brush out of the front and back of the Polaris Sportsman ATV, I also made covers for the CV joints out of plastic barrels and used my heat gun to form the thick plastic so I could get it to fit around the cv joints and I also had enough plastic body to form flat ends for the bolts to hold it on the A-Arms but I put spacers in between each bolt and nuts so it could move with the A-arms works great, one of my friends told me I should patent it. Just something I thought about and decided to try it out and it worked great. Common sense is all you need and you can make anything work. Your mad max lime green with camouflage wrap would look great on that saw arm and have some one paint American flag on the saw blade that would look cool 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸❤

  • @drive42
    @drive42 2 месяца назад +2

    One thing to remember is a hydraulic motor can also become a pump. This is relevant because when you stop the blade with the excavator valve, both hoses are deadheaded and the blade will still have turning momentum. There will be no path for the oil to leave the motor, which will create a BIG pressure spike (10,000 psi+). This creates a VERY destructive shock load and can be dangerous. The remedy to this is to make a jumper hose from one motor port to the other. This gives the oil a path to circulate while the blade spools down. This bypass hose should be smaller diameter than the supply hoses to the motor, and is easily made using T fittings going into the motor in place of the JIC to oring fittings in place now.
    I am a welder/machinist/mechanic and I really like this build. I also really like the equipment operation videos. Keep up the good work!

      I used to work for a company that built gas compressors for off-shore gas wells. We installed a check valve between the supply line and the return to allow the fans to spool down when the engine was shut down. We also installed a bypass valve to prevent overspending the fans. Your warning reminded me of this.

    after seeing it run I can see now the washers you created to hug the blade and it all makes a lot more sense to me. even if it slips it wont fuse to the shaft. well done. I think this is a winner for sure. it might have been iffy but I think the welding really puts it over the top.

    I’ve been in the hospital for 8 days, so I’m catching up. It’s too late now but to line up the two units to be sure they are straight. Next time take a round shaft 1 inch bigger than the largest shaft. Bore each end to fit the working shafts on the pump and gear box. Use this to install and weld everything in alignment. Remove units and install the universal, now you have almost perfect alignment. Maybe next time or if this is not close enough. Put it in your filing cabinet brain.

    1st rule of assembling stuff, install all bolts before tightening.
    You tightened the bolts to the base before installing the bolt in the u-joint.
    47:47 Washers should be the sharp side to work, rounded edge to nut or head of bolt. It greatly helps to keep bolt from loosening.
    Blade is backwards. Are you planning on some sort of shield for flying objects? Old stumps sometimes have a bunch of nails in them.
