@@WindwalkerPOV dont. just dont. I watched through the whole thing.. even tho you convinced me that this class is too hard for me lul .. the voice is fine!
Using a two handed weapon at the moment is a DPS loss overall if we assume all weapons are the same ilv. Dual wielding tends to be slightly better than 2H weapons in early contents of each expansion predominantly because you get to apply 2 weapon enhancements (Algari Mana Oil) instead of 1. But for this tier specifically there is a really strong 1H from the raid called Void Reaper's Blade that is our BIS (it has a 2 set with a trinket) and you ideally want to pair that with a crafted 1H weapon with the embellishment Darkmoon Sigil: Ascension.
Great video man, this was worth the wait! I have a question about Storm Earth and Fire. Do i hold one charge of SEF for xuen or do i just use the charge when its off cooldown?
Always hold a charge for Xuen as when you activate him that’s your big damage window! The only time you wouldn’t is if you are at the very end of a boss fight and you know you won’t have Xuen up for the whole 20 seconds then use SEF earlier otherwise you’ll have lost damage :)
Amazing guide! Not sure if you went over this in the video but when is the best time to use your second charge of SEF in a purely single target situation?
It can be fairly encounter-specific (granted there are only 2 real ST fights). But generally, I tend to use my second SEF around the 1 minute mark, predominantly because that is when your 3rd SoTW will be back up but I also play Void Elf so I get a damage buff every minute that I try to take advantage of. If you check out this commentary video that I did for Mythic Sikran I do discuss when and why I pop SEF specifically on that fight based on the raid mechanics to get the most out of SEF windows: ruclips.net/video/mXOwUtum0X4/видео.html
@@WindwalkerPOV ah ok that actually makes a lot of sense - I had just been sending my second SEF almost immediately after the first ended but it definitely makes more sense to save it for when SOTW is back up. Thanks for the response :)
what WW WA and Plater profile are you using in your video? And thanks for your guide, I’ve been following for a while and enjoying your videos :D I’ve been playing monk since Dragonflight, and have enjoyed it so much I basically haven’t played anything else since xD mostly been playing MW, but I really enjoy WW too. I’ve been practicing with BM as well, but that isn’t as fun as MW or WW
So I don't actually use Plater (I get this question a lot!) I use an addon called Tidyplates and I've never messed around with any settings, it's all baseline - I really like the minimalist style of it. In terms of weakaura's I use quite a lot, I'm going to make a video on them in the future. However, for now, I'll list out some of the main UI addon's and weakauras I do use below in the meantime :) 1) I use the addon Bartender for all of my bars www.curseforge.com/wow/addons/bartender4 2) I use the Luthox - Monk Weakaura for my main ability/resource section in the middle of the screen (highly recommend) wago.io/LuxthosMonkWarWithin/93 3) I use an enemy ability timeline to clearly visually track what bosses are casting wago.io/RaidAbilityTimeline/75 4) I use the addon Tidyplates for a clean and minimalistic style enemy health bar www.curseforge.com/wow/addons/tidy-plates 5) I have an interrupt tracker weakaura so I can see my groups 'kick' interrupts and when they are on cooldown wago.io/MInterruptTracker/87
is it correct to think that the "never hold ur RSK, FOF, WDP and SOTWL" comes from the amount of haste we have this xpac? somestimes i think holding SOTWL for FOF is a dps increase (just a thought) like holding for 6s max ( totally a made up number). or clipping your last tick of FOF to get another RSK in the opener with BL (to get another stack of RSK debuff and dont waste energy since its spending is a huge dps increase in this xpac too, also FOF only has 2 stacks)
I think it’s a bit of a haste thing but more or a priority thing in that you want to cast those abilities asap so they go on cool-down so you get them back up again for the next cast. The only one of those abilities that could be held is SoTW and that’s only if you know that a lot of adds are about to pop up in the next 5i/10 ish seconds or so to get huge value. Try not to overthink the RSK bonus damage - I was doing that a lot at the start of the expansion but if you have a higher prio ability available it’s always that first. Also you never want to clip, if you played in dragonflight that can be a hard habit to break (I run macros that don’t allow me to clip anymore, I’ll post them as a reply tomorrow when on my pc). The reason you don’t clip anymore is because your biggest tick of fists of fury damage comes from the last tick so by clipping you steal that from yourself in a way. Hopefully that makes sense and somewhat answered your question 😅
To add to this in your opener that’s when you’re actually going to have tons of energy regen compared to mid fight (especially when bloodlust is involved) so try not to worry too much about where your energy is at until you’re out of your opener. You mainly want to get your big cool-downs out of the way and set yourself up for your standard priority rotation. I try to explain this in the single target raid encounter opener video (about 39 minutes in) so check out that bit as it might make what I’m waffling about right now make more sense :)
Yes it does, if you cast an ability during Spinning Crane Kick it will cancel the Spinning Crane Kick and you won’t get the full damage (the same goes for Fists of Fury)
What do you mean by craftable tier set? Is that a piece of gear that you have put in the catalyst and converted into a tier set or is it something else? (Just so I understand the question!)
@ sorry i guess calling it a „tier set“ is wrong, im quite new to wow so my terminology is a bit lackluster😅 it has a set bonus so i called it that way
That's alright I just wanted to make sure I knew what you were talking about! So that set is good if it is your highest item level gear in that slot but because they only go up to as far as item level 606 you are better off swapping them out for another piece with a higher item level when you get it, even if you lose the set bonus, as getting gear with more Agility tends to always be better early on. However, if you get a tier set piece (Any piece that has "Gatecrasher's" at the start of its name AND a set bonus) you will not want to replace that as that gives you a really good Windwalker-specific buff. You would only really replace that with the same item but at a higher level :) I hope that makes sense!
Great guide mate how do stomach it tho u know u put all this time and effort into a class and it's simply drastically undertuned to top performers. I'm Maine ww since mop and it's the first time I'm rerolling as enh I just wanna fell what's like being the meta
im hunting for both the contracts and the void reaper weapon :( didn't get any luck. never dropped them, even in normal mode (i'm also using the detachable fang like you haha)
You are right, I'm a fool and spliced that talent tree image incorrectly. Hardened soles (3rd row, second from the left) should be blanked out and Brawler's Intensity (fourth row, 1st on the right) should also be blanked out as they are single target talents, not AOE. None of the information changes and that puts you on 30 talents with those two talents blanked out. I'll make a pinned comment about this - thank you for pointing it out.
I wonder, isnt it worth to spend 8 stacks of teachings of the monastery before pressing whirling dragon punch? Otherwise you waste free 4 stacks if you use whirling while capped on teachings. I mean it on single target with knowledge of the broken temple talented.
I think you make a valid point and I'd agree that in that situation you are losing resources by WDP first. I think what you'd want to be doing though is trying to avoid getting into a situation where you have an 8 stack BoK and WDP up in the first place - just by playing the priority rotation I find that you usually expend BoK's often enough that reaching 8 stacks tends to only happen after a WDP and not before.
The only macro that I use attached to my opener is a /use tempered potion for my Storm, Earth, and Fire but if you have a separate button you like using for your pot keep using that as it’s a bit of a bad habit I have 😅 otherwise no real macro for the opener as pretty much all opener abilities are on a GCD. Once you’ve practiced it a few times it will become muscle memory :)
Ive done 2 tiger palms then strike of wind lord to rising sun kick to fists if fury then whirling dragon then tiger then sun kick? Is that a bad rotation?
So in AOE there’s two reasons you fists first before rising sun kick. 1) Fists does way more damage so you want to use it first so you get the cool-down rolling asap to have it back up so you can cast it as much as possible 2) A talent we run in all situations called Xuens Battlegear makes your rising sun kick reduce the cool-down of fists of fury by 4 seconds if it crits. So if you fists then rising sun kick there’s a high chance you will get to use fists of fury 4 seconds earlier than if you do it the other way around which is overall a much bigger damage increase because fists hits so hard in AOE.
