It must be a song in the last few minutes of the video~ Because there is still a reaction to this video online, and the guy just muted one song in the last few minutes~

    Hello everyone,
I recently discovered that I am a distant relative of Yoo Jae-ha, a famous Korean singer. My parents mentioned that my dad's uncle was a renowned artist, but I didn't believe it until I looked it up. Although I never met him or attended his funeral (I wasn't born yet), learning about him has deeply touched my heart and made me grieve.
It's incredibly meaningful to see how influential he was and how he helped shape the K-pop industry. I want to thank everyone who has created videos and shared memories of my great uncle. Your tributes mean a lot to me and my family.
    Thank you.

Trot was a genre or expression of Russian folk or popular music from the late 19th or early 20th century, which was introduced to Japan and was renamed Enka. Korea accepted it from Japan and called it Trot. In modern Korea, referring to traditional Korean songs and trot shows confusion, and strictly speaking, Korean traditional folk songs and Trot differ a lot in form. The word 'Pongki' comes from the subtraction of the characteristic rhythm of the trot called 'pong-jjak'. In modern Korea, the trot is gaining huge popularity and forms the mainstream genre of adult contemporary. The tragedy of modern history that Koreans had through the fall of the kingdom and the colonial and civil wars has made this genre, which has maximized popularity such as exaggerated sadness, become the mainstream. In this process, various musical characteristics such as real Korean folk songs and other Western songs were mixed. The trot's melody reflects a unique singing technique by bending the melody. For more than 30 years since Yoo Jae-ha in 1987, younger musicians in Korea have always tried to break away from these trot attributes and make them feel cleaner. However, one of the most modern characteristics of kpop is that it has a dramatic melody compared to pop in the West, which also shows that it is not free from the influence of 'Pongki'. Yoo Jae-ha's music is not only free from the Russian-Japanese-style folk music element of trot, but also creatively incorporates the harmonics of Western classical music and various modern jazz, rock, and pop techniques. This method was unique in the Western pop of the time, and its musical quality was excellent. In addition, in terms of lyrics and singing attitude, he is considered to have rediscovered the attitude of traditional Korean art, "Aibulbi (sad but not tragic), which was known to all Koreans, and established it in a modern way. Many Koreans regard Yoo Jae-ha as the true musical independence of KPOP.

Hi, Danny ! Thank you , because today you gave me the name of the man who composed this last song which I liked a lot not knowing even when and where I've listened it ! And this style which me, in my 'neofit' mind , called the "Korean style during the students' revolts ! I'm not a musician but still can recognize something pure-deep -melancholic ! And there is another style characteristic to the Japanese occupation that I noticed ! You know, sometimes I'm thinking to the old Russian songs which I use to love like my old roots ! Thanks!

Really appreciate your effort to produce this kind of video, informative and interesting. I love this song very much and also curious about the late Yoo Jaeha because there were not much articles about him in English.

Rose brought me here. She covered Because I Love You and all of a sudden I wanted to know who the original singer was. This song truly is a masterpiece. And this is one of the best educational videos on RUclips! Thank you so much💙

I think I know exactly what you mean by bbong kki. I listen to a lot of country and folksy music and blues and all that stuff and it has the same sort of feel as that in the vocals. Don't know if you or any other subscribers listen to the same sort of stuff but it's similar. I don't think we really have a word for it though in English as I've never heard anyone from those genres really describe it but it's there.
