Nani is his real nickname but his actual real name is Naveen. Nani is called Naniga by elders for making little to them but if we observe Naniga then this name can be split in two ways one Na EEGA or Nani EEGA. Nani is the hero of this film and matches his name with this movie.
Sudeep top class acting. No one can match his look and attitude.
Eega is one of the best movies ever made in India. It is a testament of SS Rajamouli sir's vision and capability to make a successful Indie film even with a Fly. 🔥

@@midhun.official Dude what is Best?? Eega ticks every box to be the Best film. It has Great character Arcs, gripping narration, Avant garde filmmaking and being commercially successful. Eega is a milestone not just in India but in the very Filmmaking landscape - the audacity to not just conceive such an idea but to pull off a movie that engages audience with a Fly is never heard before especially in India. Eega to me is more of an Indie film by its narrtive approach and I don’t think anyone can even pull off pitching such an idea to someone and more so to make it into a Film. I really admire Mr. Rajamouli for this as he took up this project being a celebrated commercial filmmaker. Many filmmakers fail to make a decent movie with stars but SSR pulled it off with a damn Fly and I still cant believe that this film happened in India with audience who don’t even attempt to watch such films at home and that too a decade ago. 🙇♂ to SSR

There are four more SS Rajamouli movies that might be of interest:
- Magadheera (2009) his 7th movie, with Ram Charan (Ram from RRR)
- Chatrapathi (2005) his 4th movie, with Prabhas (Bahubali from the Bahubali movies)
- Vikramarkudu (2006) his 5th movie, featuring Ravi Teja... and Anushka Shetty (Devasena from Bahubali movies)
- Yamadonga (2007) his 6th movie, with Jr. NTR (Bheem from RRR)
All four have a much tighter budget, and simpler CGI, but are worthwhile watching... i like Magadheera very much, Chatrapathi is very watchable, Yamadonga is very cringe, but watchable for a good lough. 🙂

@@screamqueenshorrorpodcast Yamadonga is very deliberately "theatrical". I would not suggest that movie to a westerner. The uniqueness of that movie is NTR Jr playing similar mythological roles to what his grandfather (NTR Sr) played in 1960s. The movie is pure nostalgia bait for older Telugu audience, thats all. Infact, I would not suggest any Rajamouli movies earlier than Eega to a foreigner. Magadheera is the earliest movie of SS Rajamouli that might be borderline palatable to a westerner.

He just changed Cockroach to a fly in his film. Very sad that thieving is rampant in Cinema, even Oscar Awards are a culprit by awarding lackluster films.

@@urmila5552 Eega was copied and movie idea was stolen from 2010 Australian film Cockroach. SS Rajamouli replaced the cockroach with "fly". Luke Eve's original work was robbed by SS Rajamouli. Very sad .
Lol, Cockroach is a 14 min short film and Eega is a 2.5 Hour feature film. Also, there are 100s of reincarnation stories in India as the concept of reincarnation itself is of Indian origin. Infact Rajamouli's earlier movies Magadheera and Yamadonga (to some extent) are also a reincarnation stories. This movie was conceived before cockroach was even released as Rajamouli was talking about this concept for a while. It is mentioned several times in interviews that Vijayendra Prasad (Rajamouli's father) initially came up with the idea of a reincarnated insect taking revenge back in early 90s when Rajamouli was not even a director. Just because there happens to be some loose parallels between movies doesn't make them copies. If you evaluate that way, pretty much every Superhero Origin story (Eg: Iron Man and Doctor Strange) is a copy of another, because broadly they are all the same. The only adapted movie of Rajamouli is Maryada Ramanna, which is a loose adaptation of Buster Keaton's movie "Our Hospitality" back in 20s. They wanted to buy rights for this movie but in the process realised it was already in the Public Domain.
