@@chrisollirum6943 Well, if you look for it and manage to find it, if you can you could try to upload it, since the series does not have a copy or anything
YO lol i can't believe it's 2019.... almost 2020... i'm a grown up now.... also on other notes, this movie is so freeking nostalgic xD i can't believe so many other people in the world watched it... when i was a kid, it felt like I ALONE saw this movie ya know? in a weird way. same with homeward bound (and homeword bound 2~ .... idk if there was a homeward bound 3 or not xD)
This seriously brings me back. The animation is making me scream because I used to think it was the best animation money can buy. This movie was one of my favorites and I had it on VHS, I remember watching it as a kid thinking "Donkey Kong is thicc af"
The Paramount stuff at the beginning brings me back to watching Blue's Clues, Dora (I think) and other shows on VHS tapes from before I was born that my parents got from who knows where.
I watched this so many times I grew to think it was a bad movie for decades and never approached it again. This movie isn't bad. And looking bad I can understand why I watched it again and again. It's simple and the humor makes me laugh. I think Donkey Kong 64 influenced my bias but all I remember is hating this movie.
I remember having this on vhs and first playing dk64 still love the movie today!!!!!! Brings back really fond memories of an old friend .r.i.p no more bad people getting you into trouble buddy!!!!
My childhood right here! Donkey and Diddy forever! Best part was when Klump and Krusha flew in the sky and seeing K.Rool dance in the song! Hahahahahahha! A thousand blessings to the poster of this video!
Skissors I use to have this movie and when I first watched it I was like: "WTF?!" because the voice and personality of Donkey Kong doesn't fit entirely with the games.
Faith Simpson SMB had legitimate actors with genuine experience and personality. Aside from a shitty husband and wife duo director who didn't know what they were doing, it wasn't that terrible. Compare professionals Bob Hoskins and John Leguizamo (who both actually captured the look pretty well, in my opinion) to Richard Yearwood and Andrew Sabiston who have nothing going but the cliche over the top cartoon reactions for everything and pun-ing up everything. Most people just compare it to the games and shit themselves when it's not an exact clone, whereas this movie has zero personality and is clearly just a bad CGI bump clone of the games where even the voice actors seem to be straining to not kill themselves in the booth. Sure, SMB is terrible if you want it to be the video game the movie, but this DK one is terrible because it's terrible. Even the really bad CGI-ish animation is shitty for when it came out. Compare this animation to really any other Japanese animation that came 10-15 years BEFORE it and it looks atrocious (Yet, SMB doesn't LOOK atrocious for the time it was filmed. SMB, at the very least, has better visuals and cinematography by an enormous margin, despite them being 4 years apart.) And isn't the movie just a compilation of episodes from the really bad cancelled TV show? I mean, the copyright holders don't even care enough about the show to content claim it on RUclips. Lastly, what was terrible about the SMB movie? Bob and John had a pretty realistic Mario and Luigi look. The cinematography looked as good as you could get for 1993. The jokes were relaxed and more natural than all the then cliched loud reactions and puns. The only complaint I really see is it wasn't a clone of the games, which is exactly what gave it character and managed to expand on a generic formula. The Mario series wasn't super fantastic in 1993. It was basically run and jump with a couple power-ups. It's not like they had a magical fountain of Mario history to look on and match. They went "He runs and jumps and powers-up." and had to make a movie out of that. Nobody could have made a flawless movie on that basis. Most of the fans seemed like they wanted a Jurassic Park level movie based on a handful of games built on jumping and running, which is asinine and nothing could live up to those expectations. It's like the SW prequel issue. NOTHING could have lived up to the expectations the original SW fans had, so the prequels were doomed from the start and people went in already hating it. Same applies for SMB. Compare to DK: The Movie: The Game here where it was low risk to just animate the video game and hire some B rate actors and it still shit the bed. But it's all preference and opinion at the end of the day. This "movie" just looks like a cheap compilation of episodes from a bad TV show that was a cheap copy of the games whereas SMB had actual quality and humour. Though, you may feel the exact opposite, and that's cool.
I never watched this before, and after finding out about it I was very curious to see what this movie would be like. Honestly, I actually enjoyed it and had some laughs. I actually might watch some of the series soon to see what they're like too
The fact that DK sounds a little like Usher should be an indication for the rest of the movie. It's hilarious to watch though, despite (or maybe because) of how bad it is, lol
saw a clip of this on facebook and decided to skim through the movie and take a trip down memory lane. ahhh, terrible. absolutely terrible. but sometimes i miss having a mind that was so pure and easily entertained. its so weird jumping back in time like this. feels like a totally different lifetime. just something from a dream. now i'm off to watch clips of Monster Rancher.
“WHAAAAAATEEEEEVER!”
That still makes me laugh to this day. My childhood summed up in an hour and a half.
Fun fact: I had the movie back then on VHS and in my opinion it sound way better in Spanish. Yes, I had the español VHS movie.
😂 i had it in spanish as well for vhs.I totally agree it sounds way better in spanish, damn good times 😢

wow, do you really have a Spanish version of the movie? I thought it didn't exist, only the episodes dubbed separately

I remember this movie from when I was really, really, young.
I didn't remember it was a musical.

I love this movie.
I swear Diddy sounds like Scrappy Doo

The wierd story
The ugly and funny anamation
