i love this refreshing off the cuff everyday philosophy. It's normally missing from our media feed of opinions. I think I will be just that little bit happier for the rest of my day. Cheers.
This is such a simple song with a simple message. So simple many people dismiss it. Worry doesn't fix anything or change anything. Happiness can clear your mind and then you find solutions. I love all their responses. These men are so grounded and sincere.
My favourite memory of my (extremely) strict step-dad was when he let down his guard for this song. He was driving me to school in 88 and this song came on. He said, oh, we have to park up for a minute, and I was confused as to why. It was so we could both sing our lungs out to this song. It's one of the only times in his life he ever let his guard down and I treasure the memory. I realised there's a different side to him buried somewhere deep down.
A lot of wise words from these Tribal leaders, they have amassed enough years and experiences to speak the wisdom, such a shame that a lot of our fellow humans will never reach such enlightenment.
They really got it right saying children would be entertained by this. The man in the top hat 🎩 was the original Mr. Noodle on Elmo’s world on Sesame Street…. 💕
Always a pleasure to see your panel and hear their reactions to things. it gives perspective...lol, and I could use it today. Please consider Samuel Barber's Agnus Dei or the original version Adagio for Strings. it makes me happy and sad all at once.... and leaves me hopeful at the end.
your videos (and comment section!) make me happy! Whenever I'm having a bad day I can come here and visit all the way from Memphis, TN, USA and feel better with good people.
The other two silly men dancing with Bobby McFerrin were "clowns" in their own right. Comedic actor Robin Williams of course, who may have been in a movie you reviewed. And Bill Irwin, who might be a lesser known clown but is very well regarded in comedy circles--especially physical theater.
Been loving your videos. Super interesting seeing people react to the music you grew up with. If i may make some recommendations. For a different type of song genre from japan try vocaloid. There are many good singers and songs from that genre. I also recommend gansta paradise from Coolio. Lastly i would love to see a reaction to the living years by Mike and the Mechanics.
One day when I was a kid in California, there was an earthquake. It was quite large. The anxiety that lingers after a quake that it is a precursor to the "Big One" is very real. On the radio, the announcer who has to play the list given to him broke protocol and played this song. He was spot on, everything turned out okay. Bobby McFerrin is amazing. I still have my original "Hush" CD. To see his mastery of his art, there is a live recording of him making music with just his voice, body and a stadium of 8000+ excited fans.
Dear Sirs, A video suggestion: At a perfomance in Dublin in 2003, Andre Rieu invited a friend of his named John Sheahan who is in the audience to come up and play. They did two songs together "The Marino Waltz", and "Irish Washerwoman". The last is a folk song that is at least 230 years old and widely known in rural areas of Ireland, England, and the United States. Muharam likes music, and I think he would enjoy these. Abdul is a farmer, and I would like to hear how this song compares to folk songs from where he lives. He is thoughtful and I value his observations. The videos can be found on the DVD Andre Rieu Live in Dublin, and on RUclips. Kind Regards.

I love this channel, and this no criticism. It just got me thinking about when people say things like "It's God's will" when trouble comes. So, maybe when you get a flat tire, you can think that. But if it's true of that, it's true of the most atrocious things, and I can't accept that. Maybe you can think that when you get cancer and beat it. Maybe even when you get cancer and don't beat it, you still might think that. However, if someone holds a gun to your head and forces you to watch your 10yo daughter be sexually assaulted to death, how could a person think that? If your neighbor starves and abuses their child all their life, and finally kills their child, how can you think that it was God's will that the child suffer that way? I feel like people who say that have only gone through the normal trials and tribulations of life (which can be very bad, such as death of loved ones, or losing one's home, even). But how can they still say that if they've gone through utterly unnatural traumas that are not a normal course of life? Anyway, back to the video. I love this channel and love hearing the observations of the listeners. Of course the host does a great job in researching the material and presenting it. As for the song itself, I HATED this song when it came out, and now I think it's fun and charming. And it's super admirable that Bobby M. did all the sounds himself. I still can't get over his incredible talent and creativity. I'm not sure I ever saw the music video, since I didn't have cable when this came out. I didn't know Robin Williams was in this! Always love his goofy face.
3:55 "Don't have a place to lay your head, someone came and took your bed. Don't worry, be happy." I don't know about you all, but people taking my stuff better worry about themselves. This song creeps me out and I think my friends Adnan, Mashoque, Chacha, Mukhtiar miseed the point on this one. Sorry guys, I love you. PS I always knew I didn't like this song for an unkown reason. Now I realize, It's apathetic. I hate apathy.
I think it's metaphorical talking about things like gentrification etc. Because the African American community (and poor/lower class folks in general) have had to continually deal with their homes being taken from them either by being priced out, or because they get chosen for eminent domain projects etc. In that case there isn't any one person who took your things from you, and worrying won't help. In fact worrying can waste your energy and make you more apathetic. What they need to do instead is come together to make good change. That said, I have absolutely seen this song used for that toxic positivity mindset and I hate it too haha. But it's an important song for the people it's meant for.
_"Every person feels both happiness and sorrow. Is there a wayto find joy when you're in sorrow?"_ Yeah, make someone else suffer more than you do and have pleasure in that. 😊
