Yeah I was doing the same thing... and from what I've seen, if you picked the right seed, they will fruit. But probably after a year or 2. Did you get fruit at all and have you been pruning it? Or did you let it grow free?

My lemon tree seems to be blooming on multiple times a year basis. It was at first seasonal rate but the last 4 or 5 years it's been 2 or 3 bloomings yearly. And my other lemon tree was transplanted from a neighbor's yard, was about 3' (feet) tall, but now is over 5'6" and once in a while might blom but gaves no fruits yet. It was planted over 4 years ago now. Its leaves are light green to yellow at times throughout the year.

I am not expert in the area but not growing from seeds because it will take ages to fruit ,so it is advisable to do grafting method from a mature plant so that we can get fruits in a very short time.

Lemon trees are tropical plants, they require full sun and fresh air in the outdoors. However, if you are going to put it outside, be sure to slowly acclimatize it to the weather. Also, lemon trees, depending on their age, can withstand a "de-leafing". Meaning their leaves can fall off and they can grow new ones.
