SonAmy is probably one of the most prominent ship in the fandom (potentially even the most popular of all of them), but if you make one of your ships official, it can alienate other shippers (because as we know, this phantom is very protective of their ships.) So SEGA will keep as neutral as possible in Canon, but teasing the concept of Sonic & Amy as a couple in merchandising, you can trick us fans into purchasing the product. it’s literally an example of the marketing term “tease them to please them”. There’s two reasons I don’t like Sonamy, first is the age gap. Amy is 12 and sonic is 16, little weird, don’t you think? And if they age amy up, they just want money and so the fans don’t pressure them like spoiled children. 2nd reason is because most comic dubs are really cringey and weird, that’s it.
