If I remember correctly, there's also a Jedi survival mode where you play in a geonosis arena in a top down view. You can play solo or coop you are select a character and try to survive as long as you can.
I remember always wanting this game when I’d see it, the cover was so cool. I’m not sure why I didn’t get it, I was probably busy with Rebel Strike and Battlefront 2. I just started playing the game on PC GameCube emulation, and it’s far more enjoyable than I expected. This is probably the best rendition of an LAAT in a game, using the quad laser beams really makes it feel like playing in the movie, something the newer Star Wars games don’t seem to let us do anymore. The era of movie to game adaptation for Star Wars was the best, I’m not sure why the solely focus on original content for Star Wars games now when we want to relive the movie scenes, too.
they don't do games like these anymore because star wars was invaded by misandrist feminists who despise everything about what this franchise meant for male nerds - you wanna relive the Geonosis battle as Anakin? misogynistic bigot, absolutely unacceptable
this game wasnt just my first star wars game but my first introduction to star wars in general, I played the hell out of this and tetris worlds on my og xbox all the time as a kid
I remember playing this for the GameCube, I even still have it. The game was SUPER clunky, even at the time, but I probably played like 50 hours on this thing. I guess I just loved playing star wars games!
I played this game on Xbox when it was bundled with a Tetris game, i think it was the very first Xbox game i ever played and i had insane amounts of fun specially with the Geonosis, Rhen Var and Thule missions because they always took place within larger battles, the game does an extremely good job at making you feel like there really is a giant confrontation going on in the ground with all the flying lasers, random explosions, ships flying in the background and all, this game deserved better and still does.
I also had that version of the game. I was pretty dumb as a 7/8 y/o when it came to video games so I never got far. The last thing I remember about the game was seeing Rhen Var and being like “HEY THATS ALSO IN BATTLEFRONT!!” and then switch to Battlefront and look out of bounds because I thought I if I looked hard enough I could see the other game 🤣
Hey man I loved your review and a look at a game I haven't played in a long time! I played this game over and over again in the years before Battlefront II. The last mission on Thule was my favorite couple of missions in the game, but Rhen Var was really cool too. Glad to know that people still remember this game back during the golden age of Star Wars games...
This was one of my fav childhood games, I picked it up again and managed to do a full playthrough on hard difficulty (Jedi Master). Overall it's good, but damn does it have some major issues. 1. - I think you're too lenient with the saber/character controls, they are absolutely awful. Force push doesn't work half of the time and your character turns slower than the tanks, making them feel incredibly awkward to control. I get that we were spoiled with later games, but this would've sucked even in 2002. 2. - The difficulty spike in this game is ridiculous, later levels will often be significantly easier than earlier levels. The bosses in the 1st half of the game are HARDER than the 2nd half. How on earth is it easier to fight two protodekas instead of one??? Because you have way more powerups/health/ammo and a helper on your side, unlike the first one. The final boss was supposed to be this terrifying threat, even though it's easier to fight than nearly every other boss. 3. - The Kashyyyk levels are shit. The vehicles in this section are easily the lamest, except the separatist tank, which was actually really cool and unfortunately used only once. Look at 3:07, you lost 2/3 of your health in a split second, the hell are you supposed to do here? There is no rhyme or reason to how you avoid that purple fog, or when it does or doesn't hurt you. The mission where you defend the huts is easily the worst/hardest part of the game, you're fighting a thousand enemies with the weakest "vehicle" in the game and you have way too much to deal with here, this would've been hard with any other vehicle. The mission where you defend the ATTEs on Thul definitely takes 2nd place, but this is undisputedly the worst. This section is then immediately followed by the easiest boss in the game, of course. 4. - You mentioned that it was annoying to hit something with the gunship, but forgot one really important detail. If you got out of bounds in the gunship, it won't just rotate your ship to turn you around, it'll often send you flying DOWNWARD. In the last planet, I died multiple times because my curiosity to explore and complete all bonus objectives caused me to hit an out of bounds area and my ship was forcefully flung downward right into the dirt, instead death. 5 - The checkpoints in this game are awful. 6. Your teammates are often not helpful at all or are just stupid. There are times when you lead teammates but don't have squad commands for some dumb reason, there will be times where your teammates will not attack anything nearby and just stand still for some reason. Enemies will, of course, almost always only target you even when you have nearby teammates. This is most noticeable with the spider droids. I don't think I've ever seen that red laser hit anyone other than me. 7. You said the controls are good for all vehicles, and I'd mostly agree, but the walker controls are really finicky when moving to the side. I also thought the speeder bike didn't really control well. 8. Some of these bonus objectives are damn near impossible, especially on Jedi Master difficulty. 9. Unknown time limits. This is bullshit, time limits will be involved with some missions, but a countdown will not be provided. You just have to hope you'll make it on time. These missions suck because you want to beat as many CIS ships as possible and explore, but instead you have to fly through everything. Sometimes it's not even implied that there is a timelimit until you hear someone tell you that time is running out, then you're rushing. 10. Your dumbass teammates will often block your shots. I've had too many times where my missiles would just blow up on impact from a teammate getting in the way.
I LOVED this game, as well as SW starfighter, SW jedistarfighter, SW battlefront 1 & 2, SW bounty hunter, practically all the old late 90's and early 2000's SW games....gosh, these were my childhood....
I remember I used to just stay on the menu screen for awhile between missions because of the background. Clones just going about their business on the acclamator's bridge with the outside being whatever planet the last mission was on.
Loved this game. Would like to play again, glad to know it's available on modern Xbox consoles...that sadly doesn't seem to be the case with Play Station.
this and gta vice city were the first video games I ever owned thanks to my dad giving me his old xbox back in the day, this game was amazing back then and have tons of memories of it. I’ll definitely have to replay this I just found my disc
This game and Rogue Squadron 2 were a major part of my childhood and are part of why I'm a major Star Wars fan today. I didn't realize it was backwards compatible, I just bought it again thanks to you!
Nice review. Just discovered it on Xbox 360 store and decided to play through it again. My friend lended it to me back in the day and I really loved it. But playing through it today was a bit rough, there are a lot of sections where.. you're almost required to know the objectives ahead of time and plan out how to use the powerups accordingly to make it through. But I'm glad I have it in my collection.
What a cool review of a game I've never even heard of. It looks so cool though. I wonder how I missed it. My favorite star wars game is battlefront 2015. Another great video bro.
Wait wait wait. This is backwards compatible on the Xbox One now? UPDATE: Just looked it up and what the hell. Why did this not get coverage by the official Star Wars website?
I remember watching those cut scenes over and over. Honestly look good even without knowing they're over 20 years old. Just bought an old copy on ebay for my gamecube:)
I remember thinking To myself “how tf am I gonna beat that?” When I saw the fat giant ship pop up and count dooku escaped on geonosis…then later on you had to go up against 2 at once! I almost shit myself
tbh if they really wanted to make the best earning sw game ever than they should make something like this again.. we got to many civil war era games (rebels vs empire) already smh sadly pandemic is no longer what it used to be and got backstabbed by ea
i also remeber playing mods for the og bf2 that had maps and vehicles from this game, but since disney owned it all those mods have started to dissapear
The sad story of many great studios over the years when they are part of EA 😔 But agreed, I’d love a brand new Clone Wars game. I doubt we’d ever get one but it’s nice to dream.
Great review. I loved this game as a kid. Just got done playing revenge of the sith which was one of my favorites & loved it. Going to revisit this one too.
This was the first game I ever owned when I was gifted an Xbox at the age of 5. It was that Tetris World/Star Wars Clone Wars disc set, so this really is the ultimate nostalgia for me. Playing this game again recently really showed me just how fun this game is all these years later. I probably enjoyed it more as an adult now than I did as a kid because I could really appreciate the story, mechanics, and other features of the game like I hadn't back as a kid. I'll admit, it took a bit of courage to play the campaign without cheatcodes because one of my earliest childhood "traumas" was of not being able to get past level 8 without cheatcodes because of that dang Protodeka. Eventually I figured out the strat, but this game was still surprisingly and genuinely challenging at times, experienced as I am at gaming now. I think trusting my mettle in the arena section and figuring out how useful strafing was and what to be on the lookout for with each tank type helped a ton before getting into the main story. Also, just gotta say how glad I am that the original cheatcodes for this game still work because sadly they don't work for Battlefront II like they did on the original console.
I love this game, I got it much later after its release but it has always been a favorite of mine. I feel like no other game has been similar to this and has had all these different vehicles to use and play as. (I only really played the campaign) but I thought the campaigns story was weak but the missions were really fun, especially the first couple on Geonosis. And I always loved the gunship levels.
This was honestly my favourite game as a kid besides Battlefront. I always had weird memories of flying the Clone gunships but could never seem to find a game that matched it until I was reminded of this game. I hope it one day makes it to steam.
I was just reminiscing about this game. I loved this game SO much. They need to remake it for a new system SO bad. I was really good at this game on the OG XBox. I was ranked in the top 25 of MP for a long time. I was in college when it came out and we had some of the fastest internet in the country. I haven’t had a console in 15 years. I’d get one again if they ever drop this game.
Took me a long time to beat this game. At first i thought it ended after the boss of geonosis i couldn't beat. Then i thought it ended after the trash planet missions. Then i thought it ended with the mammal things we ride. Then i finally eventually figured out when it ended. The music was so good. I remember sometimes being scared for real. 10/10
I really hope they port this game eventually 😅 the battle missions were so immersive to me as a clone wars fan to the point this is my officially favorite childhood star wars game(probably republic at war as my favorite mod lol)
You really missed out on the multiplayer. The 4-player vehicle wave survival was a blast. We'd diversify our vehicle set to meet different situations. Two tanks and two AT-XTs. Things got serious once the Protodeka rolled up.
I never played the orginal clone wars game as a kid. I played the og battlefront to death though(quite literally both my ps2 disc needed to get resurfaced) i love them so much. I will definitely check out this one. Having the old star wars games being backwards compatible on Xbox is a god send. Every game looks and plays like new. Even super messed up disc work too. My MW2 and MW3 have chips taken out in the center and they still run on my series X and sometimes my 360, it depends on the mood of the 360. Its a shame Sony doesnt do backwards compatibility. Guess they too good for it. I for one hate having to spend money on a game i already own
I wish I could toss in my old PS1 games or ps2 into the ps5.. that would be great. But atleast Microsoft put some effort into their backwards compatibility program
I remember playing this game with my older cousins back in the day, but I could never remember what this game was called. I was pretty fun especially as a 5 year old.
I brought all retro star wars games disc for the series X backwards compatibility. Wish Bounty Hunter was released on the OG xbox then & is backwards compatible.
@@mrspielberg8191 Hell yeah. Kotor 2 just dropped in the switch store. I downloaded it last night. I heard the cut content mod is going to be included.
It makes a lot of sense nobody’s heard of it the game came out shortly after episode two of Star Wars came out like two years after not a lot a zoomer’s were around them most millennials were still pretty young and this was like during PlayStation 2 was the most advanced PlayStation version yeah this was a cool game I really love the being able to play the fighter tank. Playing as a person though that was a bit clunky
That's not the reason tbh. The reason is because a) Jedi Outcast and Bounty Hunter came out the same year and were better received and b) both the 2D microseries and the 3D show share the same name and are more well known
This game was EVERYWHERE in the early 2000s almost everybody I knew had a copy along with Tetris lmao the new generation just doesn’t care about old Star Wars games.
I absolutely loved this game but completely forgot what it was called and could never find it to play again. at one point I forgot it was even a star wars game and remembered pvp tank combat.
Not a lot of people really know this, but you can actually destroy those OG-9 spider droids and I believe the AT-TE when you're playing as a jedi during the campaign.
I never owned the Battlefront games when I was young but my brother and I did have this and liked it a lot. Use to destroy him in multiplayer and it was a lot of fun
Thank you very much for this review. A ps5 version came out on 11.06.2024 (day.month.year) and based on your review I bought it straight away. Since you asked, I was a big fan of Battlefront 1, the original one, and also SW Republic Commando. Have a nice day!
When you said you had no friends I got sad a little lol. I’ll be your friend! Also, per your question in the video, my favorite Star Wars game is KOTOR II, with the cut stuff restored.
I still have this on my original Xbox and I still have that Xbox but I don’t have any controllers for it. If you want a video idea, maybe you could cover another hidden gem on the Xbox called Whacked. That game is fun and I wish it would get a remaster
i LOVED the arena mode with my friends XD
Yes that was super fun!
Yes! I loved the waves of enemies in the co-op multiplayer.
Multiplayer clears campaign by far. Miss games like this
If I remember correctly, there's also a Jedi survival mode where you play in a geonosis arena in a top down view. You can play solo or coop you are select a character and try to survive as long as you can.
The best mode

Just seen the game in the Xbox store for $9.99 (not on sale)
Looks interesting. Never even heard of it or noticed it in the store before.
Yup the LAAT is more accurate in this game then battlefront
they don't do games like these anymore because star wars was invaded by misandrist feminists who despise everything about what this franchise meant for male nerds - you wanna relive the Geonosis battle as Anakin? misogynistic bigot, absolutely unacceptable
This was the first game I ever owned on the Nintendo Gamecube. I loved it. The graphics were pretty good - I still that tank model looks fantastic.
this game wasnt just my first star wars game but my first introduction to star wars in general, I played the hell out of this and tetris worlds on my og xbox all the time as a kid
Sameee bro first game on xbox and my favorite at the time was jet set radio future which my cuz had
samee i started on this and halo
This and revenge of the sith video game made me love star wars and tetris

I love defending the ATTEs on Thule, so fun.
Keep in mind WHEN this game came out too. We are just used to better stuff.

It's crazy how every Star Wars game in those like 10+ years was a hit. So much variety all in the star wars universe
@@mrspielberg8191exactly I just got done playing all those he listed lol been years and had a great time. Did you ever play the pod racing ones ??

PlayStation has some neat Star Wars games. I think they even added the old PS1 Episode 1 game a few months ago.
Coming to here due to the game is coming on ps+ premium/deluxe soon
this and gta vice city were the first video games I ever owned thanks to my dad giving me his old xbox back in the day, this game was amazing back then and have tons of memories of it. I’ll definitely have to replay this I just found my disc

This game just got added to PS Plus premium, so I’m hyped.
One of my favorite childhood games ever.

Your welcome! Hope you enjoy it!
Good that this is one of these classic star wars games that you can buy and download in your Xbox s/x if this game was just remaster or remake
Nice review. Just discovered it on Xbox 360 store and decided to play through it again.
My friend lended it to me back in the day and I really loved it. What a cool review of a game I've never even heard of. It looks so cool though. I wonder how I missed it. My favorite star wars game is battlefront 2015. Another great video bro.
It's definitely a hidden gem!
Battlefront 2015 is so darn good, excellent choice!
Literally the worst battlefront. Shit taste
I’m so thankful I got to experience pre-Revenge of the Sith era clone wars in real time.
Wait wait wait. This is backwards compatible on the Xbox One now?
UPDATE: Just looked it up and what the hell. Why did this not get coverage by the official Star Wars website?
This was so fun playing with my brother. I remember learning how to clone my vehicle, and just pretending like it was me lol
Forgot about this one. Played it with my cousin for hours and hours. I loved it
One of my favorite Star Wars games for GameCube
I miss playing this game
My childhood
It’s definitely a great trip down memory lane.
4 player split screen survival was SO FUN. So many lan parties for me and my friends
I was in between 1st and 3rd grade when I remember playing this. It not only got me into Star Wars but also video games in general.
I love the aesthetic of the very early 2000s video games
played it on the original xbox with my brother a ton, super cool game

I brought all retro star wars games disc for the series X backwards compatibility. Wish Bounty Hunter was released on the OG xbox then & is backwards compatible.
I definitely remember this game, but more for the multiplayer than the story mode.
Playing multiplayer was so much fun back in the day.
I remember not liking this game as a kid. Mostly because I didn't care much for vehicle combat. I quit playing it after I got my hands on KOTOR.
It's hard to compete with KOTOR, been replaying it on the switch and it's so good!
@@mrspielberg8191 Hell yeah. Kotor 2 just dropped in the switch store. I downloaded it last night. I heard the cut content mod is going to be included.
My friend and I always went back to the tank arcade mode, where you fight wave after wave
The Shroud of the Dark Side has fallen, Billions must fight (in the Clone Wars)
Not even a question. Of course it is!
I love this game so much! I even keep playing it on my Xbox One!
My first game cube game alongside rogue squadron 2.
I’ve literally never heard of this game! I still play the original battlefront 1 & 2 games today, this is so cool.
Along with Jedi outcasts, Academy & Battlefront 2 Clone Wars was my favorite game’s growing up
We need this game for the Switch
I still have it and my ps2 as well, and I'm play it from time to time)
I had more playthroughs of this game than any other game. Probably even to this day
Where can you buy a digital copy of this?
Xbox store for sure. I think that's the only place.
@@mrspielberg8191 thank you so much
It makes a lot of sense nobody’s heard of it the game came out shortly after episode two of Star Wars came out like two years after not a lot a zoomer’s were around them most millennials were still pretty young and this was like during PlayStation 2 was the most advanced PlayStation version yeah this was a cool game I really love the being able to play the fighter tank.
Back when cheat codes where a thing... opened up the arena as the first ever horde game...
We got this game and The Hobbit with our Xbox in 2003. We played those games so much that the disks eventually stopped working
As someone who was playing this game earlier (I forgot how good it is) definitely worth playing in 2022 or now in 2023.
I love this game, particularly because of the AT-XT and Thule moon campaign.
In my mind's eye, this game is exactly how the legendary Clone Wars look like when Luke asks Ben “you fought in the Clone Wars?”
Hope you like the game! So cool that it’s on Ps5 now.
@@mrspielberg8191 Actually I finished the game. Good but quite short, on the bright side is that the old cheat codes are still working.
I’m playing this right now and it’s fucking fire 🔥
When you said you had no friends I got sad a little lol. I’ll be your friend!
Also, per your question in the video, my favorite Star Wars game is KOTOR II, with the cut stuff restored.
Weather it is or isn’t there is a boss battle I remember from when I was 4. I’m 18 now and it’s time has come I’m gonna kick its ass
You got this! May the force be with you
I forgot about this game!! I was a lonely kid and would this at my uncle's house while my family played cards.
DUDE 🔥😩 I forgot about this game
I still have this on my original Xbox and I still have that Xbox but I don’t have any controllers for it. If you want a video idea, maybe you could cover another hidden gem on the Xbox called Whacked. That game is fun and I wish it would get a remaster
Might be backward compatible with gens ahead of it. 360 for sure, One/X/S you'd have to check list.
This game as well as Republic Commando needed a sequel.
I didint even know this existed
You mentioned the 3rd person Jedi combat but not the 1st person Jedi combat?
I loved this game. I used to play this game all the time
I bought a copy of this game for the Xbox before it was made backwards compatible and thought I’d wasted my money. Just hoping I haven’t lost it.
Waiting for a digital sale on this!
The capture the flag on this one and Academy were the best in my opinion
