We always admire batsman . Whenever someone asks regarding cricket greats every one will name Bradman,Lara, Tendulkar etc. But bowlers like wasim akram are one in generation. He is indeed the best bowler the world has seen. He is among cricket greats.
I was watching this match live in London. The year was late 90's not 1993. In the post match summary, commentators Richie Benaud and RAY Illingworth Long time Chairman of selectors for ECB, confirmed and agreed that Wasim Akram naturally possessed the art of reverse swing and that non of the other Lancashire seam bowlers from the other end could swing the same ball that Wasim was bowling with from his end. The FINAL Conclusion they made was that it was the work of pure genius and that there was NO element of cheating and foul play in the havoc he created in this semi-final with the batsmen. Mark Richardson and others, please grow up and be realistic in your understanding of the game.
Actually the caption is correct. This match was played in 1993 as, being a Lancashire fan, I went to watch it live at Grace Road. Maybe you are thinking of some other game. I agree with one thing though, Wasim was different class.
Wasim’s last season for Lancs was 98 but this was definitely the first half of the 90s because Phil Defreitas is prominent in this clip and he left Lancs before 95

Ok, there are fast bowlers out there with more test wickets than him, but on his day, there was no-one more skillful and devastating than Akram.
