Pakistan always has this knack of producing legendary fast bowlers which made watching the game much more thrilling. I think Wasim Akram in his heyday was an unplayable fast bowler with his swing, pace and variation. We used to watch the opening overs of an India-Pak ODI with hearts in our mouths when Akram and Waqar used to operate from either ends. Miss those days very much.
In his first 2 years of test cricket he was looking to become the greatest pace bowler then came the injuries. He still came back strong, remodeling his action a further 2 or 3 times

I played Gully cricket who rose up to play district level but with typical Indian parents averse to sports as it impacts studies could not pursue dream or love for cricket. Anyway the little I played I was decent in batting and fielding but not strong in bowling. This was the time, I tried many ways to improve bowling and I modeled my action around Waqar Younis. I would not say, I had full control but I naturally acquired the outswinger. The joy of getting wickets in the slip cordon with a round arm action like Waqar personally made me very happy but my utility to play cricket was modelled on Zimbabwe's Neil Johnson who opened the bat (was good in it, so was fielding) but Waqar in me never went away. Like Waqar, I also tend to get hit a lot but damm the action is modelled to attack and never defensive and that to me was Waqar and I was the Waqar of Gully cricket.
Those days were of Bowlers. Deadliest bowling attack Pakistan- Wasim & Waquar, Westindies- Walsh & Ambrose, South africa- Donald & Pollack Australia- Mc Grath & Jason Gilipse.

@@ArisenalphA I understand what you mean but that's not an over rated comment. About your reply. Pakistan has the same kind of batting and bowling conditions like India. They are identical but Pakistan always produced lethal fast bowlers and some of the best spinners including Saqlain Mushtaq the inventor of Doosra. And population does matter because you have a luxury to groom players when you have them available in abundance. I don't have anything against India. Indian batting has always been far superior to Pakistan. Your cricket is free from politics. Pakistan has a worst cricket board that is full of corruption. You just need to look at facts with open mind instead of favouring your country. You say me I have less knowledge of cricket. Yes I may have less knowledge of cricket but I have seen the golden era of cricket from the 90s. I have seen Wasim and Waqar demolishing everything that stands in their way on FULL FLAT wickets. You must accept that India never has been superior in bowling Department than Pakistan just as Pakistan is never superior in batting Department than India.
