@@n0xxm3rcyxx I picked up the headset on HyperX's website for $199 (about $210 w/taxes) last week and the sale is still up I believe. I love them so far
Great video! I got these today, 3D blew me away! I hear things in my games that I never knew had sound! Got them on sale too 55% off ($208 CAD, $172 USD)
how does this headphone compare to sundara in terms of sound quality? does it sound only good compare to other gaming headsets or does it sound as good as other audiophile headphones like sundara, etc
i personally think the hyperx orbit sounds better than most audiophile headphones at the price simply because it has a really good tuning. For example, the sundara has flat bass with less subbass emphasis and more treble emphasis, so it does sound more “clear” sounding than the hyperx orbit. But the sundara also sounds more boring compared to orbit if you like bass, the bass on orbit is simply fantastic and fun, not really anything you get with “audiophile” headphones.
How's the headset now? I hear a lot of talk about the plastic cracking or breaking at the hinges have you seen or had an inkling the hinges are weakening by any chance?
@@ryanhostudio It's really annoying I was thinking of buying but everyone says they crack so it's a waste and it's been 2 years now? They should really up the design.
@@ryanhostudio Yeah it just seems like a classic cash grab. Want 3D audio and epic sound quality? Keep buying our headset and have it break after a year then buy it again an infinite source of money. Hi! All right? Friend, I need your help, a few months ago I bought my S orbit and everything was wonderful, except that when I turned it on I already noticed a persistent noise, however quietly, while no sound was playing. I tried for other cables, change the sound profiles, turn off and on the 3D mode etc, but nothing fixed, it appears even when there is no cable connected, just connect, I changed for another unit and also had the same problem , this one ended up damaging the magnetic planar so they changed it to another one and it's still there. It's not a problem with my ears because I have 3 other headphones here that don't have that noise. Can you help me? What can I do to resolve it? Do you have these noises?
unfortunately its normal to have noise (probably due to all the electronics packed inside). If you play music/games, you don't really notice it. Another example is Sony WH1000XM2 wireless headphones also exhibit noise when nothing is playing, so its not exclusive to this headphone.

Nice well made review! Easy to follow, easy to listen to and you brought up some pros and cons which is great :-) I have 6 year old cloud that I've recently changed to a Sony WH100XM3 and ModMic Wireless and will now switch the Sony WH1000 to this Orbit S much thanks to this and a few other reviews. It's funny you should mention the HyperX mic "problems". My friend also has HyperX and we both have the same problem, even with mic sound set way up (close to distortion) we often have to tell each other to almost put it in the mouth in order for the others to hear. The sound of the HyperX mics are fine but I'm very glad I'm gonna combine it with my ModMic instead, it's simply superb and can easily be used far away from the mouth. You also mention the cable tangling which is also a well known old issue with other HyperX sets, not a big deal really but can be a bit annoying and I'm very glad to see I can now disconnect the cable from the headset rather than the computer. Thanks for a well done review :-)
glad you found it helpful! This headset has so many features I could easily make an hour video going into all the details but no one would watch that long of a video haha
i play 7.1 channel, 3D audio on, room ambience 0 and profile you can use either flat, default, or warm. Warm is my recommended profile because its the most relaxing and fun profile to play on
Savage re review. Pros: Audio+, 3D+ (that head tracking is almost not a gimmick, really good stuff for when not using VR), device compatibility Cons: Noticeable noice flor- (white noise common in headsets with complex electronics), Only eq presets with no custom sliders, relatively heavy with strong clamping force and are almost completely closed (not sealed, but in long sessions or hot environments this can become critical, and headphones are not fond of liquids). Personally I only use the warm preset, particularly the "flat" one is extremely high on the highs for my taste. With the other presets I have to lower overall volume considerably in order for it to not hurt in hour
warm preset pretty nice with the bass. I dont even find the flat preset to be fatiguing to me anymore its weird. I tried RPG preset lately and seems pretty nice too
yeah i couldnt figure that out either, no instructions on website either. I find that once I turn my headphones off and turn back on, then plug them back into USB they seem to be charging again.
Thank you for this video , very good job :) But what about the 7.1? Is it good? Can you clearly hear behing your head what happens behing you in the game? Also, after all this time, are you still using it? Nothing is broken? No problem has happened since? I ask you this because I have readen many feedbacks from players who complain that they've had many problems with this headset.
7.1 channel works well. Can hear behind me fine. The thing that cracked for me is my yoke that connects to ear cups. Have to be careful with headset because it’s made entirely of plastic
OK thanks for your answer. Actually I think that i'll wait a long time before to buy a new headset, too much bad feebacks (ex : Amazon) about the current ones build quality.

Does the 3D audio give you better positional audio of things like footsteps? Or would it not matter? And is high res or 7.1 surround sound better to use with or without 3D audio in your opinion?
I think 3D audio has LARGER sound stage, making it have better positional audio of things like footsteps. However, I find it a new experience coming from normal 2 channel headset, so it takes sometime getting used the 3D audio sound stage and understand things like positional audio.
