    I once heard banjo player explain how to set the head tension on a banjo. Just tighten it, he said until the head splits, then back off a quarter turn.

      Thanks Christopher! It's funny how we hear so much about changing strings to alter sound but not so much about this when it comes to banjo ukes.

      Thanks - ya the cool thing is being able to hear the difference of one versus the other. Its nice to be able to adjust to get the sound you prefer!

    Wow. I like both sounds. I don't think I'm ready to mess with the head tension yet. How she came from the factory is fine for now.
