Jesse Rizo the led light on the switch still didn’t turn off. Not sure if it’s the switch led that doesn’t turn off. I also bought the key fob from Cali raise and it does not have TRD on it :(
Instead of connecting the 2 red wires from the switch together, you're supposed to connect the red wire from the switch (that is next to the green) to the red wire on the harness. Then the red wire on the switch (that is next to the black) goes connected to a wire that turns on the headlights. This way when you turn on the headlights the lettering lights up and when you turn on your pod lights the symbol on the switch lights up. If your headlights are off and you turn on the pod lights the symbol on the switch turns on. Good video as usual.

This makes figuring out the switch wiring a bit easier. The one thing I would do different is on the switch where it has the upper and lower light, I would connect one to the instrument panel lights to turn the symbol of what it turns on when you turn on headlights and wire the other one to the wire going to relay to light up and let you know its on. It probably would not be too hard to tap into the existing switches near it for the instrument panel lights, and I doubt it would pull enough amps to damage the circuit or effect canbus. I am currently building a factory bracket with a OEM looking 6 relay- 6 fuse box to run the fog lights, caliraised hidden light bar and a future onboard air compressor. I am even going as far as using the 5 pin bosch style relays so I can have the first relay set to normally open turning on whichever light and it runs through the second relay set to normally closed and that one tapped into the high/low beams so the fog lights turn off when high beams are on and the light bar turns off when low beam is on. I am connecting those to a factory harness that's unconnected because I am still debating whether I want to use that or not. Its not cheap doing it that way but considering I drove my last Tacoma for 17 years and only traded it for the newer bigger Tacoma, I don't plan on getting rid of it for a long time so the additional price is worth it for me. Soldered and heat shrinked connections, wrapped wires and the factory looking very durable cloth tape, I want it to look like it was made in the factory. Thanks for the video, it was some great help..
I like how down to earth you and your videos. You dont try hard at all. Bravo man. I got my Tacoma sport earlier this year and im buying a few mods for it now. Cant wait to install. Great vids my bro.

Jonathan Marroquin no worries man I’m on the same boat I got 4x2 off road 👍 and I love the truck like crazy and can still do the small off-roading trips that I’ve done
Hey Jesse, I installed the 32" Auxbeam Lightbar you gave away and it looks so awesome! Thank you again. I was wondering how to fix the Caliraised Button light.. it's always on even if the car is off? I have seen other people having the same issue. How did you wire yours so that it only illuminates when you hit press on? I have seen other vids that require you to tap into the fuse box..
I figured it out in case anyone else runs into the same problem. The wire connections are actually green wire from cali raised button to red wire on the harness, and the two reds from cali raised button connect to the yellow wire on the harness.
I'm getting a dual function switch today for my runner, have no idea how to wire it. Did you guys take the ground off the vehicle battery before messing with it??
Great video! Followed the instructions/video but my switch still lights up even when the can is off. Lights bar is connected directly to the battery but followed the wiring diagram from the switch.
On my 2020 Tacoma, I don't have a space to put my hand to pull out the switch mounting area because they replaced that empty space with dummy switches. Any ideas on a good way to get that out?
Awesome video! I bought the factory buttons for my 4th gen 4Runner, and have been wondering how to wire it. This definitely makes it less intimidating to take on. I have a wiring harness with black/white/blue wires, any chances you would know which way I would need to wire those? TIA! -Morgan
I just bought jdm star ditch lights and a ch4x4 Tacoma oem looking switch and my switch is always lit even when my truck is off and I’m away from it how to I wire to it to make my switch off when I’m not using it? Do you need an add a fuse?
Hi, I have been searching all over the web. I did this to my Tacoma but the 4runner is different. I want to do the same but not sure what fuse to add a fuse to on the 2020 4runner.
Great video... question on the switch - the switch illuminated only when you turn on the lights? I thought the switch will illuminate whenever the dash panel illuminates like when the park light is on. That way you see where the switch is when it is dark. Did I understand it incorrectly?
Ok so how did you do that? I can’t find a single video on wiring the Cali raised OEM switch to the wiring harness. I don’t want the button lights on all the time and that’s the only thing they do. If you can help at all I’d greatly appreciate it
I have a 2020 Tacoma, I did the instalation just like in the video, but my cali raised switch stays on (the blue light) when I turn off my truck. How can I fix this?
Great video! Could that fourth wire coming off the the one that illuminates the switch when the headlights are on so you can locate the switch in the dark?
Thank you for the video jesse it helps me a lot, I just have a problem the light of my switch keep on even when the car is off and locked, do you know if that is normal or I have to do something to fix it? I hope you can help me Thanks
Yougot I my friend, that’s not normal check your wiring maybe one isn’t connected correctly that honestly happen to me as well before I started recording and it was because one wire was loose as far as I can remember it’s been a while since I installed them 🤔 check the two that u have to connect in the same but connectors those tend to get loose
Did u fix the problem? I just installed mine and can’t find any issues with the wiring, but the switch its still on even when the LED bar is off . ? Does it kill the battery?
That’s seriously odd :/ off camera it did stay on so we checked wires and mine was loose when I reconnected everything then it worked so I disconnected again started recording and what u see in the video is how we did it I’m sorry :/ and yes it will kill slowly but it will if it stays on
If you pigtail the red wire closest to the black one coming from the switch to your panel light fuse under the dash, the button will light up when the lights are on just like your stock switches. Then, the indicator light telling if the light bar is on will illuminate only when the light bar is on, whether yor headlights are on or not. Just a thought...

That means a lot Tim your awesome!!!!!, I got them from cali raised I have links to them in the description box right under this video, I’m planning on doing predator or nerf steps on that it just depends on the style u want to go with but the install should be the same regardless which style u go with, and our check books have that in common lol, stay tuned for the coming uploads :) I have some prerecorded videos coming soon 😎
Jesse Rizo thanks alot good thing I don't have gf or wife cause I can go I want that or need that for truck but am going with the curved Nerf bars black 4 inch kind cause I am not jumping into truck anymore guy
Hi Jesse!!! Always a pleasure to see your videos!!! Ooh this was soo easy to install the Cali switch and button!!! Now for the wiring I would need help lololol!!!! You did provide us with which wire goes where when connected!!! It was very sweet of Bens tech to help you with each video!!! Your truck is looking amazing!!! Hi, first off, great video. Really really helpful. I do have a question though. After the install for me, the led light won't turn off on my switch. It stays on whether the light bar is on or off. I have a KC HiLites Gravity Pro 6. Any ideas on how to fix it?
Hey my friend since then I’ve made a updated video ruclips.net/video/tuhblJLTNvw/видео.html that’s the link let me know if this one helps out if not please let me know if not I’ll try my best to help u out
I’ve done a updated video for some reason a lot of people have been saying the same lately so not sure if there making the switches differently then before here’s the updated video if u want to check it out ruclips.net/video/tuhblJLTNvw/видео.html
Is there a way to tap into the dashlight circuit through the dimmer? I have my switch working, but the light on the switch comes on at full power with the dashlights.
I ordered the light bar from the link in the description and mine came with 3 wires, black green and white. I plugged black to black, green to blue, and white to both reds. Hope this helps is anyone has that are different colors from the ones shown in the video.
Jesse Rizo I’m sure that is exactly what happened, just thought I’d share incase anyone else was also confused. Thanks for the helpful tutorials like always, definitely help me out👍👍👍
SandyTRDtaco17 yes my friend get a metal cloths hanger and just open up the hanger and make it go as straight as possible then u got a flexible metal tape the wire to the cloths hanger once’s it straight and there u go it helps a lot
chris wilson no I didn’t do that because some people would get confused and for me personally didn’t want that light on all the time since mainly lightbars are only used offroad I just have it by memory where my button is but u can wire it into one of the fuses to the headlights for that 👍 but if not here’s a different video on this that I made if u wanna see it ruclips.net/video/tuhblJLTNvw/видео.html
Hey bro, so I've got the same set up as you. Auxbeam light bar with cali raised switch. I wired everything the same as you, black to black, all reds together, and green to yellow. My switch light is staying on constantly. Any idea what the deal is?
Sorry for the late reply and yea the way I did my wireing it’s meant to not keep the light on check if anything got pulled recheck all the wireing make sure it’s connected a couple people in the comments said same thing then later commented again saying they didn’t have a wire connected correctly so I’m assuming that my friend, it actually happen to me as well I can’t remember which color wire since it’s been a while but off camera I know one of the wires also got loose when reinstalling and made the light stay on so I would check that
Update: Finally got it figured out and thought I'd repost in case it helps anyone else. Again, I have the Auxbeam light bar with an OEM stlye Toyota switch from Cali Raised, just like in the video. I wired as follows: black to black, green from switch to red light bar, red closest to green on switch to yellow light bar. For the other red wire on the switch (the one beside the black wire) I ran a separate wire that tied into a fuse jumper (or "add-a-fuse). The fuse I jumped into was the taillight fuse. Doing it this way allows several things. A. The backlight on switch is off when the truck is turned off, the headlights are off, or the light bar is off. B. The light bar can be operated completely independently of any other lighting. C. When you turn on your parking lights or headlights (anytime tail lights are illuminated), the text on the switch illuminates. D. When you actually turn the light bar on, whether or not other lights are on, the image on the switch illuminates. Hope this helpful.
So I got the Cali raised led fog lights with the plug n play adaptors and the Cali switch but not the harness having trouble hooking the switch to the factory harness anybody have suggestions?
Does your switch light up when the light is not on but you have your headlights on? You know just dimmer and gets brighter when you turn it on.,..just wondering...
No but I been getting a lot of emails on it lately so not sure if they switched how they made the switches or harness so I’m not sure to be honest I don’t wanna lie to to you but to answer ur question mine doesn’t stay on n I’ve been running it for a year now
Jesse Rizo thanks for answering! I’m going to call Cali Raised LED and see if they have any guidance. I’ll let you know if I find out anything different.
I have a 2020 and it has the traction control button on the top section and then 1 more blank switch. How would go about putting this switch panel on that area? Mine doesnt have 3 button openings for the switch panel. I guess what im saying is mine doesn't have a coin holder like yours. I don't even have screws on the back of mine when I remove it :/
You just have a newer Tacoma on my new Tacoma that I got same thing it doesn’t have it lol so u just have to find a different spot or one of the blanks
@@JesseRizo I actually found one on Cali Raised LED. I had to search for it because it didn't come up in the switch/panel category. It has 4 tall/skinny switches and replaces the whole panel for Tacomas without the coin holder. Have you seen it?? It puts the traction control button down on the bottom section and then leaves 4 tall/skinny buttons up top. Pricey, but worth it
Yea I think I need to redo the video mine works fine but it seems ether I didn’t show it correctly in the video or the wiring is different now or switch
Use a test light, it is about the size of a Sharpie and has a wire with a clip on the end. On the end of the device is a metal section that tapers to a point which is useful when testing different wires. When a wire is hot there is a light in the body that will light up. You want to probe different wires and find one that is hot when the headlights are on and dead when they aren't. Then just tap into that wire using a scotch lock connector. You can get a test light at the dollar store, but I would buy one from a hardware store of better quality. Later
I have a question. I bought my 16' Tacoma earlier this year. It came with an OEM LED Bar light switch but no light. I just tried to pull the switch panel out like Jesse does, but it won't come out far enough to see the back of the buttons. Anyone else having this issue?
Better if you take the one red that controls the switch light and hook up to the dash lights and Y the ground for it .... then have the other red so that when u have the light bar on it lights up the picture ....black on the light bar goes to the other Y off the ground of the switch. This way your switches are not dark at night and it also tells you that the bar is on or off 🤔
ruclips.net/video/tuhblJLTNvw/видео.html that’s the link to the video n if I may ask what light bar did u get and which switch sometimes it varies from companies on the wiring
Same wire harness? , And I will be making a updated video on this next Sunday it’ll be a detailed how to wire a lightbar + oem switch Been having a good amount of people tell me the same thing
One of the red wires on the switch needs to be wired to ACC circuit so when you turn your headlights on the switch lights up with your interior lights.
Mule Skinner can you make it easier for someone with no automotive electrical experience? I got the same switch, there is a wire from a relay to the cab already in place (previous owner had fog lights but took them and the switch) and idk which wire on the switch does what (other than black, I assume that is a ground)
@@alexmessier1566 here's a link to my favorite way to hook it up. This will prevent it from being left on and basically make it only be able to turn on while headlights are on. It will also backlight the switch so it will be lit up like your interior lights. www.tacomaworld.com/threads/wiring-up-caliraised-leds-w-oem-switch.514284/
Everyone is wiring the 2 red wires from the switch to the 1 red wire on the harness. I don't get it. Wouldn't one of the red wires from the switch be for the switch illumination? If that's the case, wouldn't you want to tap power from another switch so they all light up together??
@@Jeziorski7 I wired all three lights up to the parking light switch. They only illuminate when the lights are turned on. Then there's a second bulb in the switch that lights up to indicate that your bumper/ditch/bar lights are on. It's the way to go. Hopefully you got it squared away, if not I'll take a look at where I tapped the parking light wire.

Cali raised doesn’t have trd key fobs my friend that’s from ajt and they stopped producing those a while back 😬
Jesse Rizo yes I’m using everything you used. Auxbeam with harness and OEM switch from Cali raise. One of your wires is white but my is red.
Instead of connecting the 2 red wires from the switch together, you're supposed to connect the red wire from the switch (that is next to the green) to the red wire on the harness. I’ve done a updated video for some reason a lot of people have been saying the same lately so not sure if there making the switches differently then before here’s the updated video if u want to check it out ruclips.net/video/tuhblJLTNvw/видео.html
Great Video!
Thank you!!! It means a lot coming from you
Where did you tap into for power and ground
Is there a way to tap into the dashlight circuit through the dimmer? I have my switch working, but the light on the switch comes on at full power with the dashlights.
I’m sure u can I would use a tester first before starting to cut wires though just to make sure
I ordered the light bar from the link in the description and mine came with 3 wires, black green and white. I plugged black to black, green to blue, and white to both reds. Hope this helps is anyone has that are different colors from the ones shown in the video.
If I’m not mistaken they have changed the design of them that’s y
Jesse Rizo I’m sure that is exactly what happened, just thought I’d share incase anyone else was also confused. Thanks for the helpful tutorials like always, definitely help me out👍👍👍
great job you guys clean install too rock on!
Thank you my good friend :)!
Any tips on how to run the wires through the firewall? Gotta bumper light bar installed. Couldn’t figure out the wiring.
SandyTRDtaco17 yes my friend get a metal cloths hanger and just open up the hanger and make it go as straight as possible then u got a flexible metal tape the wire to the cloths hanger once’s it straight and there u go it helps a lot
Cool thanks. I haven’t got my switch yet. They forgot to send it out in my order but are sending a new one.
Does the Leds stay on at all time ?
Scroll down to a comment from rowbuttmon he explains how in the video it’s hard to see so he has it in text
Do the switches light up when headlights are turned on like the rest of the instrument cluster? Or only when pressed?
chris wilson no I didn’t do that because some people would get confused and for me personally didn’t want that light on all the time since mainly lightbars are only used offroad I just have it by memory where my button is but u can wire it into one of the fuses to the headlights for that 👍 but if not here’s a different video on this that I made if u wanna see it ruclips.net/video/tuhblJLTNvw/видео.html
Nice! Like the switch panel. Now what is the third switch lol! You know I will keep watching! Awesome video!
It’s coming soon hopefully lol!! Thanks :)!!
Hey bro, so I've got the same set up as you. Auxbeam light bar with cali raised switch. I wired everything the same as you, black to black, all reds together, and green to yellow. My switch light is staying on constantly. Any idea what the deal is?
Sorry for the late reply and yea the way I did my wireing it’s meant to not keep the light on check if anything got pulled recheck all the wireing make sure it’s connected a couple people in the comments said same thing then later commented again saying they didn’t have a wire connected correctly so I’m assuming that my friend, it actually happen to me as well I can’t remember which color wire since it’s been a while but off camera I know one of the wires also got loose when reinstalling and made the light stay on so I would check that
@@JesseRizo ok, cool. Will do. Thanks
Update:
Finally got it figured out and thought I'd repost in case it helps anyone else.
Blake Spires I had the same issue....I just swapped the green and yellow wire....now everything works.
ruclips.net/video/tuhblJLTNvw/видео.html made a new video on this
Awesome Video!! You make it look so Easy.. Have a Beautiful Day.
Thank you for watching /:)!!
Hey Jesse. I bought the same OEM switch and harness but the OEM switch light won’t turn off when the light bar turns off. How do I am it turn off?
ruclips.net/video/tuhblJLTNvw/видео.html try watching this updated version
Great installation video love these the most! Btw its justlife dude.
Thanks man :)!!
So I got the Cali raised led fog lights with the plug n play adaptors and the Cali switch but not the harness having trouble hooking the switch to the factory harness anybody have suggestions?
Where did you get the switches & pigtails?
Switch is from caliraised.com and pigtails I got from autzone there quick connects
This is awesome brother.. great info and tips. Very informative. Dropped a big like for ya
Thanks bro your such a great friend always supporting :)!!!
Jesse Rizo np problem man you as well
Wow very nice great install
Thank you :)
Awesome man, thank you for all the info. Any chance you have a video for the center switch panels?
Your welcome but thank you for watching I appreciate that,
And no maybe in the future but as of now I don’t I’m sorry
Where is the best place to run the wires thru the fire wall?
Excellent content. I have an 18' Tacoma and will be installing a light bar and air compressor. That Cali Raised switch panel is clean!! Good Job!
Yea and for the money it is seriously well worth buying it makes everything for a clean install
Thanks for watching my friend I appreciate that
Does your switch light up when the light is not on but you have your headlights on? You know just dimmer and gets brighter when you turn it on.,..just wondering...
No but I been getting a lot of emails on it lately so not sure if they switched how they made the switches or harness so I’m not sure to be honest I don’t wanna lie to to you but to answer ur question mine doesn’t stay on n I’ve been running it for a year now
Jesse Rizo thanks for answering! I’m going to call Cali Raised LED and see if they have any guidance. I’ll let you know if I find out anything different.
Lou Jones alright only way is probably buying the harness from them is what there going to tell you but ok thank you let me know
I have a 2020 and it has the traction control button on the top section and then 1 more blank switch.
Pricey, but worth it
What up bro I will leave a like and continue watching Have a great week
Thank you so much for still supporting me :)!!!! It’s awesome seeing comments from a big channel :)!!
Thank you for this, really helped me. Love from Pittsburgh.
When you wired the switch does it stay on even though light bar is off? Mine does. Any suggestions? Thanks
Yea I think I need to redo the video mine works fine but it seems ether I didn’t show it correctly in the video or the wiring is different now or switch
A couple people stayed the same thing
Fantastic video, looks good. You make it look doable. Thumbs UP 🦋 😊
Thanks :)!!!
where do you find the dash light power if you want to wire the red separately?
Nice install video dude!👊🏻
Thanks :)
Larry H. Miller?!! Utah represent-sent!
Better if you take the one red that controls the switch light and hook up to the dash lights and Y the ground for it .... then have the other red so that when u have the light bar on it lights up the picture ....black on the light bar goes to the other Y off the ground of the switch. This way your switches are not dark at night and it also tells you that the bar is on or off 🤔
Very useful, man. Thanks.
Thanks :)!
Thanks, you are a lifesaver!
jessie! i’m doing the exact same mod. i wired the switch the exact way it says but my switch lights stay on. i need help, please respond ASAP!!!
I made a new video on it let me send it k
ruclips.net/video/tuhblJLTNvw/видео.html that’s the link to the video n if I may ask what light bar did u get and which switch sometimes it varies from companies on the wiring
Jesse Rizo i got the 32” auxbeam and i have the same harness as the one in this video
Email me
jesserizoyt@gmail.com
I would need pictures because honestly I’m not sure I didn’t do anything different and mines been good for a year now
Can you add link to wire harness
I used the same light bar and button as you but the light to my buttons are always on is there a way to fix this?
Same wire harness? ,
And I will be making a updated video on this next Sunday it’ll be a detailed how to wire a lightbar + oem switch
Been having a good amount of people tell me the same thing
same wiring harness, I called caliraised they said the button is faulty and are sending me a new one. now that is customer service !
@@JesseRizo
That is awesome man 👍
I’ll still be posting the video next Sunday if you wanna stay tuned I’ll also be giving a 30inch lightbar away in that video
ruclips.net/video/tuhblJLTNvw/видео.html
Very nice video ✌🏻
Thank you :)!!

Just discovering these Ditch Lights exist, I LIKE. The music is cool also, who is the artist?

So awesome friend, i enjoy your works.. full view , please stay connected
Thank you!!!
Awesome vid guys crazy nice
Thank you :)
sweet going to get my switch soon
How did he just pull it out like that? I had to pry it out.
Everyone is wiring the 2 red wires from the switch to the 1 red wire on the harness. I don't get it. Wouldn't one of the red wires from the switch be for the switch illumination? If that's the case, wouldn't you want to tap power from another switch so they all light up together??
literally. what im trying to figure out. I just don't know which one that is
@@Jeziorski7 I wired all three lights up to the parking light switch. They only illuminate when the lights are turned on. Then there's a second bulb in the switch that lights up to indicate that your bumper/ditch/bar lights are on. It's the way to go. Hopefully you got it squared away, if not I'll take a look at where I tapped the parking light wire.
This is so neat! New sub here 💚
Thank you so much my new friend :)!!! I appreciate you joining the fam :)!!
