One thing I learned by accident, which has absolutely nothing to do with your video lol, is that you don't have to hold the start button in when starting the truck. Push the button and let go but keep your foot on the brake and it will start. Just thought you might like to know.
I don't think the cover will go back on the panel. The add a fuse sticks up too much. I used one in the engine fuse box for my raptor lights, so I know how it works. But there is plenty of space there.
Ran a wire thru the firewall. Connected it to one of the 2 wires that go to the low beam light bulb on the drivers side. You have to connect it to the positive one which has the power. Hope that helps.
Because you don't have to connect it to just that. You can connect it to any power wire and it will turn on when that light is on. If you want it to go on when the doors open you connect it to that. If you want it to gone on when the day light running lights go on then connect it to that. I tapped int to day light running lights power wire. Hope this helps.
@@trd_tooly3722 I know what switch he is a talking about. I was just asking him to identify the color of the wire he was suggesting to tap into. This way others could do it that way.
@@trd_tooly3722 You believe it was green??? You see this is why I did it the way that I did it and why I recommended to do it that way. I did it that way because I know that it works that way and I'm not guessing or searching to see which wire works.
button lights up all the time (top and bottom) rather then when you press it for the top to light up and the bottom to light up as a backlight like other switches
Saw your comments in a bunch of other videos. Glad I found yours, appreciate you explaining how to do this the right way!
Glad it helped. Thanks for the comment.
Well done.
Thanks for this!
You'r welcome.
Where did you tie into the headlights in the engine bay? Did you go to one of the headlight fuses or just splice right into the headlight wiring?
The wire that powers the low beam bulb on the drivers side headlight.
@@juliodavid49 thanks
You can also just tie into the taillight or instrument fuse under the left side of the dash. Rather than poking up through the firewall.

Run those into an add a fuse. Then the light fuse location in the smaller fuse panel in the dash. No need to run wires into engine compartment

How’d you run the wire to my the headlights? Confused

@@juliodavid49 thanks! Ima try that
How about actually showing where the last red wire connects to the lights on?

Just tap into the bottom switch. It lights up when the truck lights are on
Which wire?
@@juliodavid49 he was talking about the factory 400w button right below the bumper light switch. It turns on when you turn the lights on too

@@juliodavid49 oh nice. I believe it was green but you'll have to double check

So wait why can’t you connect the 2 red wires ??
You can but you won't get the same results. Look at the video.

Because the light on the button/switch always will stay on
