Glad you enjoyed it. Bandai used to do magazine add-ons in the 2010s. I'm guessing because physical media is a dying medium that Bandai just doesn't do that anymore
Thank you! As for a painting guide, I wanna wait until I have a proper paint booth after settling down before I potentially do any painting content, as the setup you see in my airbrush review isn't the most efficient or healthy for users
Interesting, never knew this existed. A lot of these magazine kit add ons go under my radar even though I have one myself. Unfortunate about the lack of colors for unexperienced builders, but I doubt they have this kit. Thanks for the review
Just to make it clear, I did not topcoat my Freedom Revive just to undo my work. I took the opportunity to touch up the original copy I got from way back when, and bought a new one for this video. Glad you like it though, happy to bring more obscure kits into the public spotlight
Unfortunately, that was kinda a trend back in the Build Fighters hay day, just so the more close followers of the HobbyJapan/Dengeki Hobby magazines can have exclusive parts to customize with
There's been only one conversion-turned-model kit and that's the hecking Gundam Astraea. It's also a niche Mobile Suit from a *LIGHT NOVEL* of all things. It makes sense it's monocolor
From having gotten tired of beam spam from SEED and G-Witch, I appreciate this design more for turning it into something that actually requires skill to pilot
Man I love it when Hobby or Dengeki includes conversion kit with their mags. Best one I had was the HG Exia to HG Astraea conversion kit. Dont remembwe if it's Hobby or Dengeki though.
Those were the days. And uh, that's a dinosaur of a conversion kit compared to what I had here, and I still remember seeing that around when I was still in Hong Kong
In my personal opinion, I love the way that things like this look unpainted, it has a weird kinda charm that I enjoy. I can say the same about vintage kits and sdex kits
This and the Freedom were actually filmed and edited in March, so it's not that much of a toll on my sanity. The kits I've built prior to the MSF's release on the other hand...
I THINK I might've seen this kit as a wiki entry. Maybe? Probably not. Major thanks for again sharing something obscure and relatively unknown to a Western audience! It's always appreciated!
Was under the impression this kit (and magazine) was out of print. Have 2 sets of the parts that are for the Wing Gundam honoo but still reserving them till I get better skilled at painting.
You're right. I only got my copy from Suruga-ya and managed to dig up an instruction manual from an online listing that no longer exists. Well, at least you won't have to fear messing them up after you got the necessary practice
Regardless of the means you go about it, priming the kit is a must, at best with pink primer, otherwise the colors won't turn out as sharp. You need to be on top of your masking game, otherwise the red will bleed into the white paint. For the smaller areas though, try hand-painting them. It's not worth mummifying the parts just to spray the small bits into a certain color.
Looks like the blades are mercury lev parts (It’s from Gundam bf amazing, tatsus friend Toru made this custom part by himself that is like a Swiss Army knife)
They aren't Mercury Lev parts, but instead original parts made by the in-lore builder. The GBF stories never intersect with one another and I don't like that.
Such is magazine sets back then, gotta paint everything yourself. The gray Gundam right there is the Hi-Nu Gundam Influx that I plan to review at some point
The tonfas can be used by other Gunpla, as the handles were made in the All Gundam Project standard, and the locking mechanism isn't necessary for a sufficient grip
There are also the different GBF:AR variants of the ASF. Amazing Strike Freedom (Fin Funnel Type) Barret Amazing Strike Freedom Glitter Amazing Strike Freedom Rapid Amazing Strike Freedom Amazing Full Amazing Strike Freedom Don't forget that the Love Phantom from Build Divers is also based on the Strike Freedom. Trust me, when the next Build thing comes, it will have a Strike Freedom variant.
Those are good options as painting fodder, but there's no harm in getting more-available Bandai kits that are reissued often to do painting practice either
Yeah... I agree. I wanted to get the Amazing Lev D from Suruga-ya, didn't get the chance to. Now, next best option is to pay 30-odd quid online for one.
Switch online store getting from hobby link japan or buyee just. Hg freedom gundam custom kit Very interesting i want custom kit for a while now switch online or Physical stores
YT has been weird recently. Posting my replies to one comment under another, and displaying the wrong thumbnail besides said comment. It's just confusing to say the very least
Well, it won't be fun if I just go with whatever everyone else is reviewing, would it? I'm glad to give these kits a chance in the spotlight even if it doesn't translate to views
To be fair, GBF:Honoo is a light novel released in the magazine issues, so it's understandable that these are magazine releases. It is confusing as to why they made the Wing Zero Honoo, Transient Glacier, and Turn A Shin into proper kits though
A burning freedom is inside my heart
Served with a side of cold, hard justice
Another banger review. I can't stress enough how much I appreciate you covering more obscure kits like this!
I appreciate that! Glad you appreciate it too
for reals
Freedom Honoo truly
Truly. Except you need the Strike Freedom's head and shoulders for that variant
A very in depth review! First time hearing about magazine model kits so always something cool to learn
Glad you enjoyed it. Bandai used to do magazine add-ons in the 2010s. I'm guessing because physical media is a dying medium that Bandai just doesn't do that anymore
Oh this is gorgeous looking
Oh it’s a magazine set R.I.P.
I'll take this as a complement towards my painting efforts then, thank you. The design itself isn't far off either, it is indeed gorgeous
A very well done paint job you've done there. Just wondering, could you make a painting guide?
Thank you! As for a painting guide, I wanna wait until I have a proper paint booth after settling down before I potentially do any painting content, as the setup you see in my airbrush review isn't the most efficient or healthy for users

I really like bringing more obscure kits to light, so I'm glad to help.
"Freedom | -Cooler- 3 times faster Freedom"
Not big fan of the Head shape but the weapons is the most sensible for ambidextrous mech
Yee. With its high mobility, it only makes sense for it to be a modded into a melee unit
Oh yeah, that looks very fancy!
IKR? I really love the look of this thing
Now it makes sense why you got the Freedom revive
Great review as always, this was certainly a unique one i've never seen before!
Just to make it clear, I did not topcoat my Freedom Revive just to undo my work. I took the opportunity to touch up the original copy I got from way back when, and bought a new one for this video. Glad you like it though, happy to bring more obscure kits into the public spotlight
there should've been an actual kit version, not some extra parts that you have to paint it yourself, and slap it onto the HG Freedom Gundam.
Unfortunately, that was kinda a trend back in the Build Fighters hay day, just so the more close followers of the HobbyJapan/Dengeki Hobby magazines can have exclusive parts to customize with

Base Freedom is my favorite of any Strike/Freedom lineage/variant, but the versatility of this kit I think changes my mind on that.

i wish they were mass produced. i have the vrabe weapons and the unicorn/banshee javelin
In my personal opinion, I love the way that things like this look unpainted, it has a weird kinda charm that I enjoy. I can say the same about vintage kits and sdex kits
I mean, if the kit is consistently unpainted, I might see the appeal. But with spots being in primer makes it look like a patchwork
realizing this is the 3rd freedom variant review in a row...
*my respect for your sanity is BURNING RED-*

Pretty neat to see you reviewing a magazine parts kit.
It's not that rare on my channel actually
@@mj2005gundam Well it's not too common since you mostly review straight builds then paint them.
I THINK I might've seen this kit as a wiki entry. Maybe? Probably not. Major thanks for again sharing something obscure and relatively unknown to a Western audience! It's always appreciated!
Even if you did, it'd be like a decade ago, so I'm glad you appreciate me bringing this kit back to your attention. Thank you
I really like this! I hope to get this & the custom set for my wing zero honoo someday
In that case, good luck finding them
Thanks for showing us the actual kit in motion,
You're welcome
I have the custom kit! I’m considering of building it
You definitely should! I had fun with mine despite a few odd bumps during the painting process
If I had the time to paint it, I might have been interested
Fair enough

Thank you, glad you like the extra touches
Beautiful.
Thank you
I wanted this as it was a great swap of its balance
That and it actually takes a degree of skill to use instead of pissing beams all over the place
I never heard of this kit before. I only know the Wing Gundam Zero Honoo
There is a full cast of these Honoo custom builds in the GBF:H and GBF:HT lineup
Was under the impression this kit (and magazine) was out of print. Have 2 sets of the parts that are for the Wing Gundam honoo but still reserving them till I get better skilled at painting.

The head reminds me of Extreme Gundam, only a little better looking.
Maybe I can see a little bit of the Extreme Gundam Mk-II AXE, or the N-Extreme Gundam Explosion in there
I'm surprised no bootleg/Knock-off printer ever does dedicated custom kits into standalone kits
Probably because they don't know this thing exists
Ironically enough, had this actually been deployed in the CE universe it would have the weapons to counter the Black Knights' Femtech armor.
Build Fighters always had the perspicacity to prepare for every enemy possible, Amazing Exia and this being the immediate examples.
THIS HAND OF MINE IS BURNING RED!!!
oh wait wrong kit ........
All of the kits in this series are burning

Like with Earthree vs Uraven, it depends on what you prefer. Melee or long range is the question this time

Is the tonpas feder weapon can use to another gunpla?
The tonfas can be used by other Gunpla, as the handles were made in the All Gundam Project standard, and the locking mechanism isn't necessary for a sufficient grip
So is this the reason behind hgce freedom redux review??
Yes, except the kit you saw at the end of that video was my old copy with my current touches
I been trying to find this, they reissue?
Nope. I just happened to find it on Suruga-ya
You used eye sticker or repaint it ?

Maybe a chinese cnockoff will one day happen but a pbandai rerelease like the age set is more likely
I don't think Bandai would give these obscure GBF releases any attention TBF. A knockoff is more likely if they know this exists
