just finished building it and i have to say this is one of those Build Fighter-style kits that suffer immensely from being based on an old kit: the 90 degree bend on te arms is unimpressive and the way the legs are built and attach to the waist through a polycap on a peg means the legs will either droop down or fall off completely with all that extra added weight from the Chimera form. for me it's a complete disappointment.
The bends and whatnot are a disappointment unto the Raphael, so I didn't mind it on this kit because it's what I've expected of it. But to have chosen the Raphael as a base for a heavy unit, with knowledge that it doesn't handle weight well is a bit of a misstep

Some want it for the core unit, some want it for the armor. I still haven't seen someone who wants it for it. I don't blame them though
Does this kit has pseudo inner frame like wfm line?
No. The Raphael doesn't have one
@@mj2005gundam thanks for the info.
I'll just wait for other HG line that feature pseudo inner frame isntead, since that what make wfm hg line very good among other hg line up.
@@dewanegara8333 I swear I'm very quickly developing a distain for that line.
@@MasterSwo-MK you mean disdain?
From which line? Wfm?
If yes, may i ask why you objectively hate it, for broadeninh my insight.
@@dewanegara8333 Because nobody will shut up about it.
Nobody will stop putting it on a pedestal.
And many Gunpla reviewers I watch now treat perfectly wonderful gunpla as average at best because they're minds keep zipping back to those things.
You mark my words, when those SEED Freedom kits land, what many considered peak engineering when the Destiny Revive came out will now be considered "Bog Standard" if we're lucky and "Sub-par" or "Below average" if we aren't!
Definitely buying the amazing barbatos lupus when it comes out and also I bought myself a clear barbatos lupus that has the arm cannon and the twin mases and definitely giving it those weapons but sucks it's a CD exclusive
I'm gonna try to get it for myself
@@mj2005gundam same here
just finished building it and i have to say this is one of those Build Fighter-style kits that suffer immensely from being based on an old kit: the 90 degree bend on te arms is unimpressive and the way the legs are built and attach to the waist through a polycap on a peg means the legs will either droop down or fall off completely with all that extra added weight from the Chimera form. for me it's a complete disappointment.
The bends and whatnot are a disappointment unto the Raphael, so I didn't mind it on this kit because it's what I've expected of it. But to have chosen the Raphael as a base for a heavy unit, with knowledge that it doesn't handle weight well is a bit of a misstep
Kinda want this kit (for the core and the parts for kitbashes) but i’m at a point where i need to worry about space (so likely I’ll pass this for destroy gundam)
I'd say save for the Destroy as well, after the experience I've had
I would get this for one reason, customs. I have a custom im llanning and this both gives me more options for it and the fact that i can use the old ones that looks cool and i can use the dragon heads for something? Alright for me
That's basically what this kit is for, customization
Thanks for showing me the leftover parts before I buy it😉😉😉🤣
No problem, happy to help
have a question, how the hell the lah gundam defeated this?
Because plot, and how incompetent Maria is as a pilot
I'm just getting mecha "Exosquad" vibes from this
It is similar in concept
Great, objective review. Convinced me NOT to buy it.
Glad I could help. It's definitely not the best the line has to offer, and it suffers from its size
Now use the Psycho Gundam Mk.II's arms with the Hazel Gigantic Arm Unit
Sadly, the Mk II arms have a hole instead of a peg, and a hole can't be plugged into another hole
Reminds me of Ridley in the Power Lifter in Aliens
OMG, they are really similar, I just looked
I’d like it better if it was a Hazel with giant arm unit
Sadly I doubt we'd see any Hazel build variants because of rights issues
Sadly it used 100% the old frame or design from gundam raphael,so the articulation is limited.big but not worth it in my opinion..
The articulation is the least of this kit's issues when it suffers from its own weight
Typhoeus Gundam Chimera similar to Iron Man Mark 43 and Mark 44 Hulkbuster.
Indeed, it's quite similar
easily my favorite Build design in many years, which admittedly says more about its competition than about Typhoeus itself. Still, between the Psycho Mk-II parts, the IBO guns and Raphael at the core plus remaining parts it's a kitbash dream for me.
More power to you
i don't like the color scheme, but luckily the kit looks pretty cool
At least the scaly looks is something to be liked.
Man this was underwhelming, and the color scheme in top of the cheap gold (ex. Hgce strike freedom) is pretty lame
Welp at least there’s some hope for a mobile armor kit if bandai doesnt choose to screw its largest fanbase over
That said, given this and hg destroy, id like to see more mobile armor hgs for regular release
You know, like Bigro
And Quin Mantha
*AND THE LEGENDARY MASS PRODUCED BIG ZAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAM*
I do hope we see some more MAs in the future. I mean, if they can afford to make Metal Builds of the GN Arms, I damn well hope they make more in kit form
Segede master grade nih
It sure is
Your mention of the Psycho Gundam mark 2 makes me hope we see Mark 3 get a kit at some point, which may be just my nostalgia for Gundam Battle Assault on the PS1 talking. Same for the Hydra Gundam
I doubt the Mk III will get a kit given how long and how much it took for them to begrudgingly give us the Mk II, but hey, if they'd pay any thought to the obscure designs, I'm down for it
HGAC Hydra would indeed be a Pbandai like the HGAC G-Unit kits beforehand
When would it be announced though, unsure
@@mj2005gundam It took a long time for just the Shenlong from Wing to get a new kit, and that's a main suit. Same for the G Gundam main suits beyond God Gundam so I can't say it's impossible
Im still salty the amazing barbatos is limited exclusive.
Same here. I'm still gonna get it though
@@mj2005gundam cool! Can't wait for you to review it when it releases
beaten by an entry grade's meele weapon.
Because the pilot is shit. I mean, has she moved an inch after docking? I don't think she has heard of the strategy of "keep moving" to avoid being hit.
Well this is not as big as the Hg destroy Gundam MJ did you purchase lfrit anavanta.
It is still a large kit people should be aware of how much space it takes up. Also, I answered your question about the Lfrith Anavata on a few occasions
I like the concept of this kit, which is taking a lot of parts from a lot of different kits and bashing them together. It's what I like to do with my custom kitbashes, although with more elegance. I hope that Bandai does more kits like this, but more refined and coherent.
The idea is cool. The execution is where it fell apart
"The weakest build metaverse kit" the line was already problematic and felt like a cash grab😅😅
Hey, I judge kits by their quality, and for a cash grab project, there are some great kits out so far like the Build Strike Exceed Galaxy and Shin Burning Gundam. Comparatively, this one is absolutely the weakest release in the line so far. I'm just waiting to see if the Amazing Barbatos Lupus would screw the pooch harder.
@@mj2005gundamima say tho perhaps the money and time and resources couldve been used for a bit more high effort project (i dont know breaker battlogue was pretty good if you ask me)
Or you know
Maybe more retail kits
Maybe because 21 of the 37ish model kits 2023 were hgs and most from wfm
Dammit bandai come in can you at least bring back hguc or something
@@mj2005gundam You'll be lucky.
That thing was a CD exclusive, and they hasn't even been a rumor about it getting p-bandai OR standard release as far as I know.
@@a.p.studios8713 they did with the upcoming hgce kits like the Rising Freedom
@@mj2005gundam I guess I'll have to build some of those kits then, if I'm honest I haven't built anything from the line, I've just heard a lot of bad things about it.
This thing has all the makings of The Shelfwarmer of All Time. Horrible color palette, unpopular source material, and costs nearly 100 USD for a high grade. Most casual HG builders either don't have the shelf space for this or don't want to drop a bill for one kit. And most dedicated builders would rather buy an MG for that price
I mean, when HLJ, which infamously has 99% of the catalogue backordered, has this in stock, you know that it's just gonna sit there.
I've wanted to put this at "Avoid" throughout the filming process, but I couldn't sound too charged and I have to admit that I had fun messing with the armor on different kits. Personally, if I were a regular viewer, there is no reason to pick this kit up unless I want a basis for my custom exo-armor.
But for the money, there are way too many better options to go for instead of shelling it out on this guy.
@@mj2005gundam Bandai's decisions regarding P-Bandai have been super confusing lately. This thing has all the qualities of a standard Peebs listing: mostly old parts, low confidence for sales numbers, etc. Yet it's retail? And the RG Force Impulse "Repackage" or w/e it is for the Seed movie is literally just a recolor. Like P-Bandai is made for? Yet retail.
But stuff we want as retail is P-Bandai, like the Rose Gundam. C'mon bro
@@devinchadwick9147 Well G Gundam is still seen as the black sheep over in Japan as far as I'm aware so...
@@MasterSwo-MKwait didn't it brought back viewer from gundam Victory and it's surprising dark and moodier tone than usual gundam
@@bakl3467 Beats me.
Getting the general consensus on things in Japan is a bit of a difficulty for me, so I might be off on some things.
I haven't had interest in any of the build metaverse kits. Don't plan on getting any of them.
Fair enough. Some of them are worth a try though if you're feeling up to it
The color choice of this kit is really questionable. It's a hung turn off.
It's not the best color scheme, I understand
I really love this design, but this color scheme is real bad
It is divisive to be sure
those twin shoulder cannons are just bad design honestly
Why so?
Oh my god... It's.... it's........
So Ugly! It looks like a rejected Power Ranger Megazord!
Its looks aren't for everyone, I can understand
The Build series honestly should have just:
1) STOPPED after GBF Try
2) keepp making Battle logues centered AROUND the GBF characters
3) CONTINUED the story and world expansion after TRY
4) never should have made bootleg sao/hack sign of a divers
5) don't even bother with breakers or metaverse
6) ALLL the above ~
Honestly, if they made Metaverse in a similar vein to Battlogue or MS Igloo episodes, I won't have minded. Instead, they shoehorned a mediocre plot that had no time in the oven, and did cameos for cameo's sake. Just utter disrespect for the Build series as a whole.
@@mj2005gundam even better, have it as an entire full series, showing the entire history of gunpla battle up until metaverse
Imagine having a literal hulk buster suit yet still manages to lose against a child who is a beginner in gunpla building and his entry grade gunpla with a spec that rival an ez8
Because plot. Seriously, I hate Bandai for doing this... Writing seems to have gone out the window ever since Re:Rise ended
