- Unboxing the latest Casio MDV-107 with the pepsi colourway. This is my first ever RUclips video and I hope you guys like it. In this video, I mentioned about the differences of the new MDV107 and MDV106, Specifications of the MDV107, Pros and cons of the Casio MDV107 and also giving the watch to my beloved father.

Who would tell me that watching a simple video of a watch review would make me shed a few tears ... A year ago I lost my father. Life has never been the same since. Watching your video I remembered his face when I gave him the last gift on his birthday. It was also a watch and I will never forget the expression on his face, it was one of happiness and joy as if it were a child. Enjoy these moments with your father because one day he will leave and you will only have the moments that you lived together in your memory.
Great review of a great watch! I am a fan of the Casio Duro (MDV106). I have the 3 versions available and indeed the weak point of this watch is the lumen but it is something that if it bothers you a lot, you can easily solve it by applying lumen yourself or taking it to a master watchmaker and have him do it for you. It's a great watch and at a great price.
By the way, where did you buy that steel bracelet? I loved the result.

Your dad's one happy man now ! for a first vid you sure packed in a lot of information, and a lume shot in real time which was great, the Seiko lumibrite is a good comparison. Also, I've got a few of those accessories boxes, dead handy, especially for straps. I'd keep the Marlin as Casio removed the logo from the current issue watch, might be a keeper !

I recently bought the Blue (Put it on a color matched Blue/Tan Nylon band) and the Black/Gold (put it on the matching Casio bracelet). For a model change, should have made it a 40mm then the dial changes would make more sense. If they were changing a model number to 107 then put a sailfish or swordfish on it

I have the Orient Ray II and two Duros. Black and blue. All are fantastic. I just retired a vintage, (daily worn since 2003) Yema Seaspider to its original box. All are keepers!

@@nicholaslai3956 Surely it is a great everyday "beater", I personaly didn't prefer the marlin logo on dial on 106, but since Jody announced the 107, I am excited to get one... Since it's still not available worldwide, maybe I could see if I could get it from Taiwan

I brought a 106 with the gold bezel 3 weeks ago here in UK.and did 2 of the mods jodi thought doing.the braclet and the clasp.

I just bought a new "gold" Marlin for $40 USD from Amazon. I changed the rubber strap on the MDV106 to a "Bond" NATO strap.

I just purchased a 107 in Sydney for "25% off" and it was still $150 AUD! Lol. I bought it as a beater so I could preserve my dads old late 70s Seiko Tuna Can....(I don't want to risk damaging my vintage Tuna Can when fishing/snorkelling). Thanks for your review.

I read on one supplier from the US supplying to the uk that is shipped without box or manual to keep shipping price down if you wanted it with box and manual it another $20 dollars so maybe it just to keep shipping down. A bit like the Post Office keeping things to letter box size.

I gave mine a MTD 1053 for his 70s birthday. He have small wrists and the Duro is a bit big for him. So I decided to take a 40mm Watch.

As you said they did not print the Marlin on the dial anymore, I searched for the blue one and afew minutes ago eBay send me an offer for a reasonable price.
Casio watches are much more expensive in Germany and Austria than in the US or the Far Eastern countrys.
A black Duro is arround 100€ (over 100$). I paid 64€ and have to wait 6 weeks for it.
There are alot of watches, out of stock on the Casio Germany Website.
I do not hope they discontinue, some old classics.
My next mechanical watch will be the Seiko 5KX .

But it’s gonna worth the wait! It’s such a great everyday piece! Despite 44mm the watch is quite thin which wears quite comfortable.

Still a great watch for the money. I own a black/gold MDV 106 which is my daily beater and love it. But being a little bit smaller with a better bracelet and sapphire crystal would be nice. Unfortunately Casio did not make improvements of this kind with the 107.

Crap just for the shortened stem-tube threading, it will wear out the crown threading and fail in time, plus it's not going to seal because it can't compress against the crown's own seal.
