    Not using a engine brake on slippery roads is because it make the drives break traction. Not that you'd slow down too fast and a trailer come around.
    It's winter time, get used to a dirty truck, especially driving in salty Minnesota.

What I appreciate is the teamwork you both provide the viewer. Tonya is great at being able to video things that Kevin would absolutely have zero chance to show if he was solo. Atleast the roads weren’t iced up.I quit counting after 15 that’s how many cars 🚗 were in the ditch.It was kind of a challenge I’ll admit backing in my empty trailer today.Traction was a serious issue.I had to grab my bottle of anti-gel & pour some in front of each set of my drives & it actually helped my tires get traction,I’m gonna start carrying a jug of rock salt.

    For Crete Carrier's owner operator program, Are drivers allowed to by whatever truck they want, or can they only former company trucks owned by Crete?

    • @TheJoyofTrucking
      @TheJoyofTrucking  Год назад +1

      You can buy your own truck. Best to get a Freightliner or KW T680 because that’s their fleet and the mechanics know how to work on them so parts and labor will be cheaper. We don’t know details about possible presenters for o/o trucks not bought from them.

SPUUIIISHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH PISHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh lol 😂That sound is music to my ears😆 Some air brakes are so loud, they echo right through your ears especially when standing right behind the truck or next to it. Does Crete carry chains?

    • @TheJoyofTrucking
      @TheJoyofTrucking  Год назад

      Yes. Trucks have chains. No need to hunt them down like we did at Werner. But…Crete wants you to stay safe. They’d rather you sit it out than take risks. So far Kevin has been lucky and has never had to chain. 🤞🤞🤞

      That’s uniquely me…I had a Mid-West American Dad who taught me some English while I was growing up speaking German. Learned Canadian age 13. Lived in Caribbean 20 years. 😆😆😆So it’s really Canadian with a bit of a German accent and some Cruzan thrown in the mix. 😆😆😆👍😃🇺🇸🇩🇪🇨🇦🇻🇮

    As an old 13 speed driver who has never driven an automatic how is the automatic on the mountain and in the snow?

    • @TheJoyofTrucking
      @TheJoyofTrucking  Год назад

      Hey there. It shifts almost when it’s supposed to. You can shift if you want. Kevin thinks it’s actually safer for going downhills. In the snow it’s fine too.
