Thanks to you both for sharing this journey with us. It reminds me of my honeymoon in February 2001 (BC&AB) with a c-class camper. It was sooo beautiful. You are really taking us back to that time and place. Wishing you safe travels ! Marco Batenburg (The Netherlands)
The best button on the 2 way radio is the off button. One thing to remember running the Coq goes thro a very heavy snow fall area. It follows part of the Kettle Valley Rail route.
DOT won t let you pass ! lol ! By princeton s your best bet for sure ! did that one time and from princeton i cut through a narrow road that took me on the conector about half way, on top but i was going to Kamloops by Merritt ! scared myself as F*^K got on the conector and went too fast going downhill to Merritt ! it was on snow, very slippery and strted sliding ! Wow, my heart was pounding so fast ! I was on a dry-box not heavy ! i couldn t brake at all, or i would ve slid off the road ! was 2 or 3 am ! was alone ! Was afraid i would go too fast to turn the exit of # 5 north...or east ? lol Things you remember all your life ! So if you take that road from Princeton ? it s windy not fast and very narrow if you meet a truck ! lol ! take care out there guys ! 🤠
Hi ! well i watched one of your vids on 5A and it looks like a highway ! lol I m talking about a narrow country road that ends up about in the middle of the connector between Kelowna and Merritt ! You know GPS don t always take you on the best road ! lol 🥴@@JuanRempel
Yea, we are talking about the same highway. 5A goes from Princeton up to the Connector at Aspen Grove. 5A then continues north from Merritt to Kamloops, the old route before the Coquihalla got built.
Hey Juan, since when did chaining up become an option? gads if I would have told my employer that, it would have been a very long and cold walk home, amazing guess I'm really gettin old. Always loved to see the spray off the drivers and trailer, knew it was fun truckin from then on.
Because no one wants to chain up, on the Coquihalla you will see guys providing chain installation services, I'm not sure what they charge, but whatever it is, chains aren't hard to put on, so the drivers are paying to much.
@@JuanRempel That is unbelievable, in order for me to be just a relief driver I had to work on the loading dock, and chaining up a truck and trailer for the night driver was all part of the job.......I hated 3 wheelers chains..........and still do today, and I'm 77 and don't drive, sure do miss it though.
Ohhh, got it. Yes, I could definitely carry more on my steers, at least in a few areas like BC. A bunch of the States limit your steers wight even if you have the wide tires. I've asked for wider tires, but our maintenance manager won't go for it. He doesn't think it's worth the extra cost.
Then you’d have to get a bigger engine. The 500HP you have now would be sketchy to try to pull heavier loads. Maybe on your next truck put in a request for them and see what happens.
A real ice trucking video, thankyou

That sounds like so much fun, we want to buy a camper van and travel all of Canada
Glad I’m coming over in the summer 🌞
LOL, yea Jan/Feb can get messy
Very good video despite the conditions. I have never driven the Coquihalla.
This is a great drive.
I’m watching your video well in Jeju Island.🎉🎉🎉
Awesome, I had to look up Jeju Island, I didn't know where thay was, very cool
See you tomorrow evening Juan 👋
Your videos are great to relax to.
Thanks, they are fun for me to make
Funny how you take things for granted. Rear cam. I'm so used to seeing what's going on in the rear, now it's just normal.

LOL, yea, mostly right. I do find it super handy in bad weather, and I'm happy with it in quiet mode the rest of the time
Ahhh….sigh…remember the days when plow trucks and graders were plentiful. Safe travels.❄️🤙
Yea, privatization does that, lowest bidder and all that.
Toot Toot T-O-O-T and T--O--O--T 😅
It sure look inclement weather
I was surprised that they didn't shut the highway down
Good evening Juan
It's a long way down to the valley floor
From what I'm hearing lots more snow is coming your way.
Oh yea, we are not out of the woods yet.
The sky does look like it's clearing
just be safe....
That sounds like be boring 🤣

Yea, sure gets scary when you're no longer in control. 5A is a beautiful little highway, gets more then usually views when I recorded a video on it.

You mean the one you take by the Husky ? I thought that was the old #1 ! lol@@JuanRempel
You didn't have to chain and you weren't stopped in traffic jam.. Can't knock a slow driver for that

Yea, all things considered a great day

Is there any advantage to having the wide oversized steer tires on a big rig?
Steer tires on trailers are illegal in Canada, we only use them in the USA for wight reasons.
@@JuanRempel I’m talking about steer tires on the truck not the trailer.

New trucks have sky rocketed to 🤪 crazy 🤪 prices, so I doubt I'm getting a new truck any time soon, and I love the idea of a few more horses 🐎
Your sound is warbling and I can barely hear Juan’s volume. Otherwise it’s a good video.
Yea, the microphones hate corigations, and the snow pack was seriously bumpey
@@JuanRempel thank you for explaining this. Next time it gets bad I’ll just turn down the volume and enjoy the video portion.
I'll try to remember to mention this at the beginning of videos that I think are going to be an issue
Where’s the snow
My sincere apologies, I didn't realize you were blind, I'll try to describe it better next time.
your sound on this one and the last one are bad every bump or so it goes out and in for sound
Yea, we found in the summer these mics hate corigations, and apparently that goes for snow wash board too
