Part-time RVing DEMANDS a meal prep strategy that simplifies the camping experience and minimizes stress! Opting for one-pot or easy-to-assemble dishes to simplify cooking and minimize cleanup is good way to make things easy. But also doing things like making a list of how many meals you plan to prepare while you're away, checking off items you already have in your pantry to transfer to the RV, and buying pre-chopped ingredients can help with NOT showing up to your campsite unprepared! Nobody wants to wonder what's for dinner when you get there! With careful planning, you can enjoy the trip more & minimize the need to eat out unexpectedly on your adventure! Hopefully these things I do can help your trip go more smoothly as well.

Right on, sister! Lol (assuming Angela sent this comment 😜) I will buy the chopped stuff every time I possibly can nowadays instead of doing it myself. It’s not lazy, it’s efficient!!

Glad you tackled this subject . I make some meals at home and freeze then either microwave or re-Heat in a double boiler . Great for travel days . I also prep chicken by washing and cutting up so I don’t have that mess in the camper

Yeah, prepping ahead definitely helps with less work while on the trip, and you can eat healthier things you like that way. Unfortunately fast food along the way doesn’t quite give us those options too much yet lol so we’re forced to do some pre-prep work no matter where we’re going!

My wife is a big “list’er” also, But you should buy him a portable smoker. On short trips I will smoke a pork tenderloin, or a boneless turkey breast, another favorite is smoked meatloaf. On long trips I will smoke a pork butt, maybe a brisket. Some of those will last for several days and several meals. I enjoy smoking the meat and it takes some duties of my wife so she can relax also… Smoking meat is also pretty easy and not real time consuming, prep it, put on smoker and forget about for a couple of hours.
Have fun!!! Take Care!!! Stay Safe!!!
PS: you all really should check out camping in Michigan, we went twice last year and love it, just leave the Buckeye sweatshirt behind, lol!!

@@johnhay1782 😂😂 we might camp in MI but I’m wearing my Buckeye shirt everyday while I’m there!!
Too funny. We have a Traeger at home that Jarrett loves to use, but for some reason he can’t seem to find the time to pre-cook much right before a trip. He’s always working hard to get all his appointments squeezed in before we leave. Got any suggestions for a portable that’s small?

I have the Asmoke 350, bought it directly from the Asmoke website, small electric and uses pellets. I have had mine about 3 years with no issues. Good Luck!! Sorry Jarrett, I may have caused you some cooking duties.!
