    Great Video which got me thinking why I watch particular videos. 1. How to do a repair. 2. Research an RV site or campground. 3. Watch a journey or destination that we will never go to ourselves. 4. A personal connection with the content creator. I find this last one the most interesting as some of the "Big" creators I started watching several years ago no longer interest me as they have changed their original content for various reasons.

    Glad you brought this up. Here are my thoughts for whatever they are worth. I used to watch & see 1 or 2 RUclips commercials… now it’s 3 commercials then 3 minutes of video, another 1 or 2 commercials then 5 minutes of video, then the channel does their sponsored commercial, then I get to watch another 5 minutes of video. So yes… it’s annoying to the point where I just find myself wanting to exit at the second set of commercials… look you can do a sponsorship in 5 seconds… I don’t need a full minute car salesman ad. And you can do a full video on the product & put that link right there when you mention it. Would you rather have more viewers forever or one free bed? As far as the click bait the issue isn’t that they have a title, it’s when the title has nothing to do with the video or is misleading. Like “We’re quitting”… then you watch and it’s actually (people keep asking us if we’re quitting). That’s click bait. Or “you can’t believe what happened” only to find out it just rained… you know it rains a lot of places all the time. The worst is watching every channel copy cat the other… frame flex is one example of this. A few people had frame flex next thing you know every channel is posing regular wear & tear photos with “Is this frame flex “ click bait… after watching your told they were so worried, watch out next update to find out… meanwhile your looking at the photos and you know it’s not frame flex, its not even close. So I f I see two click baits I’m gone. That’s just me. The other thing I’m seeing more of is this whole “don’t be a newbie” because you’ll get made fun of.. what? Everyone starts out as a newbie so why are some channels acting like it’s a bad thing? What happened to wanting to help each other? I’ve never entered a campsite & had people staring & snickering so why act like it’s a massive trend? What happened to being an inclusive community? Snobby Cliques I expect in high school but not as an adult, if I had thought this was even remotely true I would never have gotten into RVing at all. Again, just my opinion only.

      @paintingartsncrafts Месяц назад

      @@OurNextAdventurejvh No wonder! I'm watching for 5 years now and these have gotten longer & longer ... I swear bed commercials are 90% of all of them.. but once you buy one, you don't need another for many years. If it helps you at all, the channels I like the most, do almost no ads.. KYD.. very few sponsorships, may be that's why. 8 straight years & they don't click bait, no overly dramatic headlines, no negativity even when they could, when they make fun of something it's only themselves, videos are around 28 minutes or less, so just under whatever the cut off is on YT for yet another set of commercials to get thrown on it. If I were starting out, I'd be looking at their approach.. every video includes: pretty video of an area with soothing background music, that alone gets you relaxing, you learn something about them (so you know they're just people like you), you get a tip for RVing, a quick end mention of what's coming next week, and asked what you want to see or hear next.. Changing Lanes is another, they share some personal stuff, and he loves to try new equipment, is upfront if he bought it vs what was sent to him, does future follow ups on how it's working. Goes back and adds updates to old video's if needed. He seems more concerned with being honest than with selling. No click bait with them either. These are recipes that just work repeatedly... so whatever your recipe is, if I know that's what I'm going to get, and if it's something I like, then I will keep coming back. You're not actually competing against the other channels, it's not like we only watch one thing once a week, or that we can only subscribe to one channel. I bing watch once a week for a couple of hours, catch up on my favorite channels latest uploads be it RV channels, crafting, travel, etc.. Beats TV, I get to learn about places I may want to go on one channel, or how to fix something if it breaks on another, or what new gadgets are available on a third that I may or may not want to use. Within the RV world, what is your Niche.. what is your overarching message? If you only had 3 lines to say, what would they be? That defines what we can expect to get from all of your videos, and everything else supports that, or is a pleasant part of it. Frame negative messages in a positive way, that's apparently hard to do for many, and why many have lost some viewership where they started with one message but switched later to a negative approach (maybe thinking they needed to in order to keep up with a fast fad). Now if your niche is the gotcha one, then that's fine, your followers will join because of that. But if your first niche is 'let's find new places to travel', then. suddenly you're on the 'gotcha band wagon'.. you'll lose some of your initial base. Hope this makes sense.

      Thanks. We definitely would still buy from that company. We like our mattress, but it would be better if maybe they could set up some displays at RV dealerships and pitch to them instead? That way we could actually lay on it and try it before we buy it, and not have to settle for their single return option if we don’t like it.
      Because they only allow one return. And it’s so hard to end up with one you love that way. We personally would like it better if we had the option to choose our mattress at the dealership and not mess with it after the fact. Wouldn’t that be great?!

    I had a RUclips channel focused around motorcycle content a little over 10 years ago. This was before people called themselves creators and there were sponsorships. For me it was a hobby, not a job and my career was taking off so I stopped producing vids. I eventually removed them all but it was surprising to me how many years after a video was published that people would comment on it.
    The part that was most frustrating to me was the amount of time spent editing the videos. I’m sure there were video editors then but YT wasn’t such a thing and since it was a hobby, I didn’t want to pay for it.
    However the worst were people who would pick apart anything little thing you say. Or, comment something completely abstract in the video. The keyboard warriors are alive and well.

    Made it through 8 minutes before I needed to move on. Your title caught my eye because there are so many RV RUclipsrs that do click bait titles and thumbnails and then have a stupid or drama video. Actually, you’re wrong about the need to create a suspense title. If the content is good then you don’t need to worry about it. That’s why I like Tubers like Taylor Ray and Ryan Trayhan. The content is great and don’t have to rely on tricking people to watch their videos. While I think your intent was good, can’t go more than 8 minutes watching someone wash their rig.

      I hear what you’re saying. I think the RV market is too much of a niche segment for really high content value. I watched my daughter become a Tik Tok star when she was in high school. If we really like the creator, typically we will. Or if we’re seriously interested in the rest of the video. But everybody checks out at one point or another. Every creator’s analytics show that a very small percentage of folks watch til the end. Very small. And rightfully so, there’s only so many hours in a day! Usually though, it’s a simple fast-forward.

I am thinking of getting e-bikes for us. Not sure and have not looked but I know from previous videos you are on your second set; how do you pick what e-bike to get? Why did you upgrade? I hope this comment helps your algorithm. You keep doing you. The sponsors will come. I was curious do channels seek out sponsors or do the sponsors come to you. Contact a few you wouldn't mind having sponsoring you and see if they are willing.
    Yes its more work, but hey. Here is another tip. At the end of many content creator videos they suggest another of their videos to watch, try suggesting another channel or one of their videos. Haven't seen that unless its a collaboration video.

    • @OurNextAdventurejvh
      @OurNextAdventurejvh  Месяц назад

      @@bobmakow55
      Yes, you can do both. You can wait for companies to contact you, or reach out on your own. We’ve actually done that with a select few, some respond, some don’t. It’s all trial and error and a lot of leaning. Yes, RUclipsrs always want to point to another video on their channel because it keeps people on the platform. And when the algorithm sees people binge watching, it’ll keep pushing your content to more and more people. There’s so much that goes on behind just someone recording, and someone watching a video. It’s a delicate science between human psychology and pleasing an algorithmic robot!

    • @OurNextAdventurejvh
      @OurNextAdventurejvh  Месяц назад

      And we don’t mind the collab videos, we’ll watch when it’s personalities we like. But if the goal is sharing subscribers, that doesn’t really work. People will like and sub to who they like and sub to. We vote for originality if at all possible. RUclips isn’t always fun when all the videos are the same. But it’s a great way to try to build a community of like-minded followers.
      I think on occasion it can be fun.
