Ramze, I’ve watched I don’t know how many channels about Thailand, and yours is by far the best - realistic, honest, thought-provoking, funny, highly entertaining, and a little pathos this week as well. Everyone has their own experiences, but I find myself in agreement with so many of your analyses and reactions to life in Thailand. I’d love to go through your points one by one, but it would turn this comment into a novella. So I’ll just offer a few observations: First, you honour your parents by your concern - you are a good son. Next, I live in Bangkok so I have traded some of your issues for other issues - such is life, there are always compromises. It’s noisy (outside) and the traffic is at times ridiculous, but I can use ApplePay (Visa) almost everywhere, and there’s no water pressure issues where I live. I hate bugs but we don’t have any in my condo, which is well built and well-maintained. Construction quality can definitely be an issue, but my Thai girlfriend owned and ran a construction company here, and she does make the language thing much much easier. Maybe a Thai housekeeper would help. Driving defensively? You made me laugh - in Bangkok, you have to walk defensively! Some of the motorbike drivers are insane! I understand that when you made the video, you were suffering from a thousand small cuts, but I had to laugh over the napkin comment - it’s so true but I hadn’t noted it before you pointed it out! Can I, a complete stranger, offer you some advice that you haven’t asked for? I spend half my time here and half back in Montreal when the temperature becomes livable again, April-November. If this is something you could do, it might help with some of your issues. Please keep up the excellent work - I look forward to each one of your videos. Merry Christmas and a healthy and happy New Year to you and your wife!
Very insightful video, I have only recently subscribed to your channel and have enjoyed the content. I'm in a similar position to yourself although I'm not married. I do go back to the UK for around 3 months every year which I still enjoy doing although this comes at a cost , namely running 2 houses, 2 cars etc. but I find it reassuring that I still have a home in the UK should I need it. I've been in Thailand for the majority of the last five years. I spent the first 2 in Samui and then went to Hua Hin for a year and ended up in Pattaya after initially ruling it out for various reasons. I've found that Pattaya does however provide a lot of recreational options such as golf which I enjoy and a host of other sports and pastimes. I'm really enjoying my time here and find your videos very interesting and enjoyable to watch. I commend your efforts 🤗👍
Ramze, I really enjoy the straight scoop! Sorry you're in a slight slump. Maybe it's the holidays? But I really appreciate your take on things. It's helpful. And letting off steam is just a healthy thing to do. Hope the new year treats you better!
I think it’s time for a few months back in the USA to reevaluate what you want, I know for me I could not be in Thailand full-time and I definitely couldn’t be in the USA full-time I love doing a hybrid of both
You are spot on with 90% of the RUclipsrs in Thailand. All positive blocking negative comments and people. It’s the new way of the world. Just fake it all. I appreciate you actually stating the negatives or what should be called reality. Reality has both positives and negatives. Keep up the good work
Thumbs up 👍 Ramze…..I can relate to what you are saying. My American/Thai wife and I split our time 8 months in Thailand and 4 months in the California and that seems to work out pretty good and it does help that my wife speaks fluent Thai 😎
Always appreciate that you say how it is! I would also appreciate a video on the issues you and people you know had with the construction quality of their housing to be prepared and be on the lookout for these issues during viewings
Ditto. Would like to know, too. Been watching those gorgeous videos of new homes in HuaHin, from 8-15 million baht and it seems too good to be true somehow. My mom's (she lives there) tile floor kept popping up and then cracked. Bathroom tiles missing grout, no p-trap on sink, etc...😅 So I wondered if the luxury ones online were any different
Hi Ramze, I really enjoy your content, presentation and balanced opinions, hope you keep the videos going. As a limey with 30 odd years in Zimbabwe I am seeking a new retirement "challenge" I appreciate your warts and all approach to Thailand which has helped me make a decision for another lifechanging jaunt. Never been to Asia but hadn't been to Zim, can't wait, tally ho.
You are the best! I am not coming to T. but i like the way you think and talk and most of all, you are being realistic. No BS. And as i am getting older i realize more and more, that people are getting stupider than before. And jealous ....
Damn I was so looking forward to living on street food and living in a 1 room flat no ac sharing a bathroom down the hall. Spending all my money on a Thai girl who tells me I’m so handsome. Your channel has completely ruined that dream. 😂
Ramze travel thailand YT videos are the best i have seen in my 15yrs of watching thailand genre YT videos. The best by a country mile.. Accurate, honest, informative, Intelligent, assessment of living in thailand.. Ps..I have been watching YT thail genre videos even since i started travelling there in 2010
Believe it or not, I did comment your last video about leaving Thailand. Pressed the wrong button and got deleted 😅😅 Let's go again. Pick top 5 reasons to stay in Thailand and 5 for going back to US. You were just blaring out some frustration and you know they are just trivial issues. In your heart 65 to 75%, you still want to live in Thailand. Going back to US to take care of your aging parents is a noble responsibility. This alone can supercede all the reasons to live in Thailand. I am a Malaysian Chinese, i totally understand this. You have a clear mind and know how to make this decision or other options. Good Luck. Will contact you when I go Thailand (frequently) and get you a couple of beers. Cheers . Merry Christmas.
News channels has figured out if you report that the city is going to bet a light dusting of snow overnight compared to the channel that is reporting a blizzard. Most of the people will watch the channel that is reporting the blizzard only to wakeup to a light dusting of snow. This causes most news channels to say fuck it if its going to snow "it's going to be a blizzard" weatherman.
Hi Ramze, as someone who is thinking of moving to Thailand I do appreciate your honesty with regards to your thoughts and critical assessments of life in Thailand. I did do a 'see if you like it' test trip myself to Bangkok in September, I did really enjoy myself and loved the people and food there. I did however try to view one of the many condos I have seen on RUclips by other influencers on my trip. Unfortunately I was not allowed to see them! This was something on the trip I didnt like. I also realise that there is a massive difference between going on a holiday somewhere and actually living there. This will be an entirely different experience of course. Whilst I am keen to move to Thailand for better affordability and quality of life Im still doing more research before making a final decision. I know that the visa process can be very hard to navigate and at times very difficult. Before making a final decision on Thailand I would like to visit some other countries such as Paraguay in South America that is also popular with Digital Nomads to have somewhere to compare it to before making a final decision.
It's nice to dream but reality is needed, 25 years ago I spent some time in NZ, the dream isn't the reality, at that time we had to find out by doing, at least nowadays we can live vicariously through channels like this and having a grounded view is needed to take those rose tinted glasses off. The biggest issue I had was losing my network of people, I can get literally anything I want at anytime, when you move country that has gone,I found that very difficult. Lasted a year away from home. Now we're thinking 6 months away 6 months home and not necessarily in the same country.
I appreciate the honesty so I can go into things eyes wide open. I do think I’ll have similar complaints so I just need to decide if I can deal with the downsides or not. Thanks!
I appreciate your views about Thailand. What I a m confused by is youtubers posting their opinions and then getting upset by people who respond with theirs. It is as if youtubers only want to hear people from like minded people.
Found your videos very informative. You tell it as it is. I’ve been here for a month now and there’s the good and bad as you mentioned in your other videos. Just like any other places, nothing is perfect. Most other videos just tells you all the good, but never the bad and it’s very misleading.
We need realistic expectations and knowledge from the experiences of others who have lived there. When I search for handymen or products I look at the lowest reviews first. The meanness online is astounding. I've been searching for a video on the negatives of retiring in thailand and was wondering if u can do a more indepth video. I saw the recent vlog of frustrating things u have encountered but if there's more, I'd love to know. I'm Thai but I've lived abroad since youth and am married to an American so we both r not that familiar with all that could happen in living there vs vacationing
There is nothing wrong with being real we all enjoy the authenticity. I've definitely had my ups and downs. When I was deployed in Iraq everything was really going to shit and my good friend said "don't sweat the petty stuff and don't let the sweaty stuff." Whenever I am really down I still say this to myself and it always makes me feel better. Happy holidays to you, your wife, and doggos
What you are saying about the Thailand youtube channels reminds me the Russia youtube channels (a country I do know well). You are right, I really appreciate the video.
". ..GO HOME!" It is like that in the US too, just a little different. Every time you have the gall to suggest changing the country in a way that is done better somewhere else, A certain half of the people in the US screams "if you like it so much there, just move!"
But a certain half wants to change the U.S. in ways without considering what that entails. For instance, this half always wants the U.S. to change in a way to match countries with more white folks than the U.S. has. Or when talking about cost of living, without realizing the effect on labor, because this half doesn’t understand basic economics. This half should leave the U.S. as they seem to hate it
Santa does exist in Thailand. also, I was so fortunate that I met my bar girl on her first night working in Bangkok/Pattaya/Phuket, so we will definitely have a happy marriage forever
14 years of looking for a good bar girl and I've finally found one. I'm here first farang (true)..... She really does take good care of me but time will tell and I know it's my turn lol
I've been visiting Thailand for over 14 years and you're absolutely correct, Thailand isn't a fairy tale and it isn't nirvana. It's a country just like any other country and every country has its pros and cons. There are some awesome things about Thailand, but there are plenty of negatives also. Sometimes the truth hurts and you should keep preaching brother!!
Jajaja ! Luv , donut your way .. The straight honest scoop is always better, that’s how I see it . Don’t bend to the pressure to do re hash videos . I watch you to continue to prepare for my journey there . 3 x so far and looks to be more soon . Also lived in other countries and been to 40. Not a millionaire, maybe just ok but I chose to do this and you continue to do the best for you and your family. Balls brother - you got ‘em . Merry Christmas , stay healthy.
This is exactly true - the influencers with their fake videos lying to get more views. The annoying youtube bloggers are ruining great spots with all of their fake exposure..
To each his/her own. Right? Ive been in Hua Hin for 3 months now. Prior to that I lived in México for 6 yrs....Hua Hin doesnt really float my boat. A number of reasons and tbh....I miss México. Great channel, keep up the good work.
Thats right...ppl only want positive vibes. So wierd...they rather get lied to then hear the real thing. SUPER wierd, seeen this so many times. I like your videos anyways. Keep it real!
Hey I'm starting to think all of the channels that cling to the 1000$usd budget kind of suck. Popular RUclips content in every genre today is mostly fake and fantasy
The greatest example of fantasy is the van life youtube channels. Living in a van is not a pleasant experience at all, yet creators have found a way to turn it into a fantasy that you need to experience. Even channels about people living in their cars and "living their best life" LOL. People will say whatever they have to say to try and get youtube money
@censoredeveryday3320 i went over to the Philippines 10 years ago.but I have actually been homeless. Going through homeless and being in the Philippines. The importance of having a bathroom with a working toilet and a shower you can get hot water and good pressure from any time you want. As vapid and shallow as this may sound when I travel outside the country again it to feel like and be treated like a rich person.
@censoredeveryday3320 if I go to Thailand I want to be able to afford giant prawns or lobster every week.and I have no interest in traveling on a motorbike. Car trike or tuktuk. I turn into a sweaty mess in heat so I probably won't travel to far from where I live and id shower 5 times a day.haha
I watch most of your videos, love them. I like to see both sides. Im 40 yrs old. I am not looking for a travel vloggers views on Thailand or a 70 year old mans views. Neither match my current situation. I want real experiences from middle aged people that have spent real time there. I know I am flat out over living in the US and looking to spend most of my time outside these borders. I am currently working on a dividend portfolio to cover my lifestyle. Hoping to make my first 3 month trip over fall of next year. Plan to follow up with the Philippines and a few others for comparison sake.
Stay authentic Ramze. That’s why your unique perspective is useful. Today you sounded a bit frustrated with the naysayers but also you made me laugh with the impersonations! Merry Xmas.
Yes! One of a few youtubers who speaks frankly and realistically about the country he is living in. Most yt channels about Thailand are a fantasy. Thank you for your courage to be sincere,, Ramze
Thanks - love your videos. However I generally prefer your other videos, this one not so much, though I hear where you're coming from. As they say haters gonna hate, but please just do you and ignore all that nonsense. I come to your channel for your particular take and, even though I'm a long-term 50-50 Chiang Mai resident, I learn things by watching your channel. Keep up the good work.
Brother, I’m with you hundred percent!!💯 %!! I don’t make friends because more than 80% of the people in the world are haters they not happy to see your success! To make Thai friend it’s not possible and foreigner it’s jealousy! I leave Thailand rent my condo and happy ever after in America in the world is still mine! Forget about these idiots block them for sure and keep on going!! Blessing
I love your channel & content the way its. People need a balanced perspective to make an informed decision. Instead of hearing sugar coated crap, moving over here, and then think they were sold lipstick on a pig.
You simply relate your experiences living in Thailand. It always amazes me how many feel you have to be all for team Thailand or all against it. Keep on keepin’ on!
@@RamzeTravels you da best in overall honesty and full picture viewing. You Are Appreciated ! Looking at a full move come aug-oct ,but at least a 3-6 mos. Biggest problem is traveling or care of, my pet parrot (my girl of 30yrs). But I'll figure out something either way. Hopefully you'll still be there and maybe we'll go bowling, my treat ?
Nice, one of the British guys I follow in UK re finance/politics etc moved to Bangkok for part of the year and did a video - was very disappointing as was nonsense - telling people you can rent a 'Luxury' condo in Bangkok for $600, very disappointing. Having lived her 5 years I find 99% of RUclips videos utter crap........
Honestly you tried it and it might not be working out for you and that's ok. People need to try things out for themselves. Your experience is your experience. thank you for sharing your perspective.
I say the same thing about van life channels. Videos glamorizing living in a van make it seem fun, but in reality it's a horrible existence. I'm hoping Thailand falls somewhere in the middle of fairytale vs reality. I'm going there to escape the stress and anguish of a divorce and hope to find some short term fun.
It's awesome. Just take your time. Grab a nice middle aged bar lady and Travel around Thailand then you can see that Pattaya is but a small aspect of this country.
Reality vs Fairy Tale. I think people on vacation who come to visit are coming FOR the fairy tale and want to hear ONLY the fairy tale. People who are thinking about moving to Thailand NEED to hear reality.
It is not just the rose colored glasses folks but mainly the ones that have no option other than street noodles & beer at 7-11. They hate to hear anything other than how lucky they are. Good luck going forward as I said before once you said return to care for your parents I said good man & good idea. Good Luck!
I enjoy visiting Thailand and watched a ton of videos, and you can see through the fake videos... I agree. Why do people write a manifesto about why a video is horrible? If you do not like it, just move on.
Hi Ramze, I think there are many more people who appreciate your time & video's & I hope that you can shake the bad apples out of Your tree & let the rest of Us enjoy what you are saying. Merry Christmas!
I watched Thailand youtubers for 3 yrs before I showed up for my 1st 6 week vacation. Over 95% of all the videos did not show what it's really like or the dirty side of Thailand. I didn't see any of the garbage or the thousands of abandoned buildings in any of these videos. I kept hearing it's the land of smiles, but I have to disagree to a point. I noticed they side eye you a lot and the ones you know speak a little of English don't. I don't know if their embarrassed or don't want to put the effort into it. I can tell when people are being genuinely happy towards you and when there not. The videos I watched no one mentioned that fact at all. The last thing no one talks about is all these really old dudes with very young girls. Creepy as phuck
Merry Christmas Ramze ! be happy and ignore peoples around you , they are millions of opinions about everything , it is not any country to call paradise , Chicago is my sweet home from 32 years and falling in parts , why ? because local politicians and peoples destroy slowly this amazing city , look at UK and all European countries how felt , blame who ? I’m in Thailand now and enjoying for 3 months .. my happiness , millions coming here and enjoying this beautiful country , Thanks !
I would suggest the latest videos are driven by a wish to increase views rather than fact... nothing like a bit of conflict to create debate whether its true or just a believable set of 'facts"
A+ video brother, as an atheist, love the theme my grading has biases 😂 Between me you & the sky How does one battle the language barrier ? I’m amazed at the couples, as myself a fellow human look upon that life as torture at not knowing what she just said 😂 Stay happy
I could never be in a relationship where we could not fully communicate. When I met my wife, I ate, slept and breathed Spanish for a few years so I could be fluent and we could grow closer. I have no idea how these guys pretend they are in great, healthy long term relationships pantomiming and saying 3 words at a time.
@@RamzeTravels... I've been traveling LATAM for 3 years. You're right. Can't imagine having a genuine relationship with a local using only my survival Spanish. Hell, marriage was difficult enough when I was married to an English speaker 🤣
I guess I could take the easy way & learn the Thai language but I like a challenge, my strategy to find a forever home is, move to a country without knowing the language & try to date & marry a local lady. Wish me luck 😭
Love your channel love the positive you give and the negative and I just appreciate that it’s all true. I’ve been to Thailand. I’ve considered to move to Thailand and I thank you for sharing the 100% truth.
Again you nailed it. Thailand is a great option but please don't just listen to the channels you refer to. It's silly hot, it floods with raw sewage, the bugs hate you, it rains n rains and the women are dangerous. It's true. And they've got plans to tax you.
You've given me a lot to think about from your videos. Questions to ask. I have come to some different conclusions than you because I'm not you, but that's better than not even thinking about these issues.
You’re going thu a phase, it’ll pass. But great videos and keep em rolling. And I’m glad you don’t live your life by what other people think or say, it can be taxing.
I love thailand with al the cons and thank for nice a one. life is what you do. If you have bad time in thailand take look at your self. i lived in asia from 1994-1998 and it is nice place still . try live in Norway that is boring and cold.
I have never watched something on RUclips that I found so egregious to make me post a negative comment. If I don't like it, I DON'T WATCH IT. Keep up the good work. 👍
Some of us thinking of moving over there need to hear these things, continue calling it what it is.

Or when talking about cost of living, without realizing the effect on labor, because this half doesn’t understand basic economics. This half should leave the U.S. as they seem to hate it
So true.
Santa does exist in Thailand. also, I was so fortunate that I met my bar girl on her first night working in Bangkok/Pattaya/Phuket, so we will definitely have a happy marriage forever
Love it!
14 years of looking for a good bar girl and I've finally found one. I'm here first farang (true).....
She really does take good care of me but time will tell and I know it's my turn lol
@@Dutchy695 LOL
Lol, just one,,,,in each place ?😊
Well, here is a slightly different Thailand channel.
My work here is done 🫡
Well said. Merry Christmas & happy new year!
This is exactly true - the influencers with their fake videos lying to get more views. The annoying youtube bloggers are ruining great spots with all of their fake exposure..
100% truth. Thank you for your great videos and for having an honest, balanced perspective about life!
Best of luck on your next chapter! ✌️
I appreciate your honesty and thank you for keeping it real 👍🏾
Thanks for the support!
You simply relate your experiences living in Thailand. It always amazes me how many feel you have to be all for team Thailand or all against it. Keep on keepin’ on!
Brother, looking at your Playlist, I realized I have a lot of catching up to do ! 😊
I’m glad you found some value in the channel.
I love it! Continue keeping it real from your POV and experience because some of us love it that way.
Have a Wondeful Festive Season.
The best channel in my opinion is Integrity Legal Thailand, and Bangkok Pat.
Yeah, great guy and channel ! Great history stuff too, pat !
Spot on 👌Happy Christmas 🎅🎄☘️
Honestly you tried it and it might not be working out for you and that's ok. People need to try things out for themselves. Your experience is your experience. thank you for sharing your perspective.
Thanx for being Real, my Man!
Wow,I missed this video. Now I understand your next video and attitude. 😅 and totally agree !
Grab a nice middle aged bar lady and
Travel around Thailand then you can see that Pattaya is but a small aspect of this country.
Best of luck on your big change!
The good, the bad, the ugly = the truth 😎
I want to hear the bad shit so you I can prepare for it and make proper decisions. You give a realistic information, and I appreciate your videos.
Continue to keeping it real Ramz keep rolling 🎥 more content 👍🙏👏🤟
Reality vs Fairy Tale. I think people on vacation who come to visit are coming FOR the fairy tale and want to hear ONLY the fairy tale. People who are thinking about moving to Thailand NEED to hear reality.
Agreed 👍
It is not just the rose colored glasses folks but mainly the ones that have no option other than street noodles & beer at 7-11. They hate to hear anything other than how lucky they are. Good luck going forward as I said before once you said return to care for your parents I said good man & good idea. Good Luck!
Keep up the great work! The truth needs to be heard from someone who's been there a long time.
Merry Christmas.
Maybe next Christmas you might be back in the USA spending Christmas with your family?
Who knows what the future brings.🙂
Keep telling us about the true Thailand. Happy holidays.
Not if you're the old guy !😊
Fyi, Santa does exist, if you know the right kind of mushrooms ! Think, red cap, white stem 😮😊
Keep doing that you are doing. We have been looking for a place to land after we retire and your content is very helpful.
If you actually think that, then you don't know me or this channel at all. Happy holidays 🎄
A+ video brother, as an atheist, love the theme
my grading has biases 😂
Between me you & the sky
How does one battle the language barrier ?
I’m amazed at the couples, as myself a fellow human look upon that life as torture at not knowing what she just said 😂
Stay happy
If nothing else, it won’t be boring 🫨
@@RamzeTravelsa big reason my marriage didn't last with a Beautiful Phillipina, communication.
Love your channel love the positive you give and the negative and I just appreciate that it’s all true. I’ve been to Thailand. I’ve considered to move to Thailand and I thank you for sharing the 100% truth.
Great video brother you sound fed up 😊 keep em coming !!
I really enjoy your content. Don’t change.
Wait, Santa isn't real?😮
😮😅😊
👍Your channel is one of my favorites
Make Speaking Thailand Truths Great Again
🙏
Again you nailed it. Thailand is a great option but please don't just listen to the channels you refer to.
It's silly hot, it floods with raw sewage, the bugs hate you, it rains n rains and the women are dangerous. It's true.
And they've got plans to tax you.
Good rant 👍🏼😂….. always good to hear the good/bad and decide for myself. What, there is no Santa Clause?!?! 😳
What do you mean there is no Santa? Love your channel and your take . People suck. Keep doing you.
Really love your content, thank you for doing it.
love the rants!! :)
Love your content. Keep it coming. If you’re ever in hua hin, drop us a line would love to share a beverage or three with you.
You've given me a lot to think about from your videos. Questions to ask. I have come to some different conclusions than you because I'm not you, but that's better than not even thinking about these issues.
We should never agree on everything. That would make us both stupid 😂
You’re going thu a phase, it’ll pass. But great videos and keep em rolling. And I’m glad you don’t live your life by what other people think or say, it can be taxing.
Ignore the haters. They just want attention.
Share away!! Keep on keeping on...
like this channel but why justify your choices? That is a position of weakness , bro. live your life
I love thailand with al the cons and thank for nice a one. life is what you do. If you have bad time in thailand take look at your self. i lived in asia from 1994-1998 and it is nice place still .
try live in Norway that is boring and cold.
Agree, and thanks for your channel!
Great video man and follow up to last one
I have never watched something on RUclips that I found so egregious to make me post a negative comment. If I don't like it, I DON'T WATCH IT. Keep up the good work. 👍
I like your vlogs, you keep it real.
Great video there aways informative
Some times familiarity breeds contempt
Happy Holidaze .being PC
Bro.. I love your channel..
But you should move mom and dad to South Florida.
This man dont miss
