There were a few points in time where it would settle in at about 250-350 watts instead of the minimum power, but it never failed to maintain 73 degrees, even with the bad setup and high heat load.
Also I have the same ac in a over 400 sq ft space with many electronic plus a dehumidifier running this ac can get the room down to 62 degrees easily if installed correctly. Installed like this is just spewing heat and humidity into your bedroom circulating around it is not safe.
Don't worry, the foam you see is cut wide open at the back, to allow the unit to spew the hot, humid air outside, totally unrestricted. It basically operates like a single hose portable air conditioner in this setup. Yes, it does suck some of the inside air into itself to blow outside, but so does a single hose portable air conditioner.
@@Smurdle450 well I recommend buying some brackets like I did and doing something custom not half assed. You can do it bud just put a little more effort and thought into things. Don't be lazy I know your still young but nothing good ever comes from things like this trust me I know from experience.
Bro you need to have the grills all outside or it does not work correctly. It also leaking humidity into your bedroom like that. Research how AC work before doing stuff like this. This is also a huge hazard, I hope this is not a building... Be careful.
Trust me when I say I'm well aware that this setup is absolutely incorrect, and I do not recommend setting up a window unit like this. Do as I say, not as I do. That said, I ran this setup for 6 years with my previous unit, and I discovered that even set up like this it works WORLDS better than any portable unit that I've ever tried. I would have probably considered getting a portable unit had I not tried one before, and found that this setup used much less energy and performed better, even with the portable being PROPERLY installed. Also, don't worry, that foam bit is open on the back, so this unit is blowing the hot, humid air outside. I do not suffocate this unit.
@@Smurdle450 that slinger fan not shooting water all over? Electrical and water don't mix its why that part is contained outdoors and the power cord indoors. I'm guessing you have the drain plug pulled and a bucket under you catch the runoff with? This is a scetchy setup man I would find a way to install it at least a little more proper than this if I were you..
Sadly, my unit has no drain plug. Newer models seem to have removed it. I'm catching the runoff outside, yeah. The unit is set up just enough to make sure the water doesn't come slinging in the room. Trust me, I would LOVE to have this unit properly done, but there are a number of factors preventing me from doing so. Really annoying. Another reason I can't wait to move. But hey, after doing this for 6 years with my old unit I think I've got it down to being at least safely operable, even if RIDICULOUSLY inefficient and not at all correct.
@@jayperez3431 yeah no, it's gone. No rubber plug. I know what you're talking about, I have a friend with one of these which has the plug, but mine doesn't. It's just metal where the plug used to be. My old unit also had a plug.
Brrr illiant 🥶
Going to freeze my legs off over here
Perfect.
Morse code from this ac in distorted filter is beast
Glad you did an update. How was it during the 90+ temps that we had? Was it able to maintain the room with that less than favorable set up you have?

Still running.
