- This is an old video i made back in 1998, when i crossed Australia on foot, i have recently re edited it with some modern music.
it realy was a great adventure hope its not to boring to watch.
It's 2023, and I've just watched this video. It deserves so many views. Thank you for this. The exact spot you came down to at the end, Surfer's Paradise, that is where I spent my honeymoon. It's amazing how little the shape of the beach has changed over the years. Incredible video.
How has this only got 200 views you sir are an absolute legend.
So funny how quickly an Englishman turns into an aussie. 🤣
Amazing journey and video. Thank you
Jon, that was an awesome journey, I’m sure you learn a lot more about Australia than most of us Australians. And most importantly yourself and this beautiful planet.
Just amazing 🙏... Can't understand why you haven't got millions of views 💖
Talk about going walkabout. Top effort what a journey and to record it. Nice work. Must be great to look back on achieving that. Ahead of your time :)).
Met walking man haiuse who think is second most travlled walked person in world.
Awesome adventure! Greetings from Poland!
What an incredible spirit to make that journey under your own steam.
Well I ended up binging most of your videos last night. Highly undervalued channel. I hope you blow up good sir. I liked and subbed. This one and the Jordan trail are my favorites so far. Great shots and I really like the connections you make with strangers along the way. Top notch.
Now and then I have to look at it again. I am also long-distance walking after many other adventures

This was amazing to watch. How did you end up fixing your wheel?
hi Michael glad you enjoyed the film , and thank you for your comment. The wheel was fixed through serendipity as shortly after arriving into town I met a old gentleman who had a shed full of bits and pieces including to secondhand wheelchair wheels? Which he was kind enough to give me.
wow just amazing
What an epic journey this must has been! Thank you for sharing it! Really inspiring Jon! How many times have you had to replace wheels on your blades? I suppose they melted away like nothing in the outback heat =)
Fab adventure!
What an amazing adventure. Are you still doing trips 20 years later?
Another great trip, Jon. Really enjoying all your videos. I hope you've still got the adventure bug and are still planning - maybe doing - something else that you find exciting.
hi geoff
thank you for all your comments glad you have enjoyed the videos,
have defiantly got many more adventures to come?
jon
@@jonepoulter7524 Glad to hear it. As I said in another comment, I'm planning a bit of an adventure, myself, for when we can travel again. In the meantime I'm recommending your RUclips channel to others.
Would you have done anything different if you were to do it again with today's technology? Would you recommend the adventure for a first trek across? I love in Perth and grew up in the North West Australia and want to walk across solo on foot through the deserts, however I think a trip via highway would be a better first go before a desert trek. What do you recon mate? Cheers and much respect.
hi niklas
would I have done any thing different ? a iPod would have defiantly come with me but sadly had not been invented? also would of taken a Better choice of lightweight dehydrated foods. Would I recommend this for your first trek ? yes why not, its 80% mental and only 20 % physical.
it took me just over 5 months and I loved every day. one of the best times of my life.
my advise, make sure you are self-sufficient at all times keep an eye out for the road trains
have a great adventure
all the best jon
@@jonepoulter7524 thanks Jon you are an inspiration mate
Hey I am doing this next year but from steep point to cape Byron. Do you have maps on the roads you took etc? Having never been through it I'm worried but excited for the unknown but that said... I'd like to see what roads you experien cfed and if you have a map.
Hi mate, your route would be much harder than mine , to be Honest I was only going to cross the Nullarbor but I was enjoying it so much I decided to carried on going all the way to the east coast I just used one road map of Australia for the whole trip. it was before the days of GPS and Google maps? Enjoy your trip and have a great adventure glad you have enjoyed the videos
All the best Jon
@@jonepoulter7524 thanks mate, so cool that you did it tho
