That was an amazing video! It also brought a lot of memories as in 2010 I went to Mongolia (from Poland - so it was a pretty decent trip ;-) ) on my own and truly loved it.

Hi Jon just came across your film looking for motor cycle adventure video's, what a great adventure good on you, sat a watched it in your old kitchen at cutton, hope your well paul.
You obviously have that spirit for adventure. Would have liked to know more about the Motorcycle, where you got fuel, what kit you carried, what you ate etc. Also, 1080p in 2017 is very good when most of us couldn't attain 720p.
The suspension on these bikes is never meant for Mongolia. It is extra hard on the passenger, it is amazing how she puts up with that! I rode this bike for a while like everyone else in the countryside but I switched to a Yamaha AG200 for the sake of my spine and kidneys.
Another great video, Jon. Mongolia looks fantastic and, so, I'm considering doing The Mongol Rally on a small bike. How was the little Chinese bike 2 up and all your stuff? Although I'd be doing the trip solo. BTW have you watched Eva Cassidy's version of ' Somewhere Over The Rainbow' on RUclips? If you haven't, watch the B&W live recording.
Oh well, had a closer look at The Mongol Rally and, maybe, it's a bit too much to do on my own. Still, I'll go back to plan 'A' which was a European trip, taking the back roads and, maybe, some of the T.E.T.
Hi Geoff Chinese bike fantastic only £1000 new and ready to ride. Paper work to be legal to ride in Mongolia a big challenge but can be done but takes time and money? Good luck with your adventure.
I like to have seen you lift a GS 1200 out of that bog. :-) It just goes to show you do not need £15000 worth of BMWobbly to go where you two have been. Congratulations to you both. May be it will give others the inspiration to travel.
rockintigger haha yes so true ! I have had big bikes in the past and they are just a pain in the backside 😄 so I bought a 2003 bmw f650gs so much easier to handle and I carry less luggage now . I can get myself out of any problems . Spend the money on the trip and don't give it to the big fat companies 😁😁😁😁
Great video! Found out about some Mongolian ancestry not long ago, so I plan on doing a very similar trip next year. I'm also from Sydney :). How did the camping work? I guess you were riding through peoples farms etc, but I assume they didn't mind too much?
how did you do it languagewise, do you speak mongolian or did you find enough people speaking english? and how easy was it to get fuel out in the wild nothingness
