In an interview about these two songs, Eminem stated that he believed these two songs were among the best writing he’s ever done.
People trashed the whole album 😪😮💨 and wonder why he's mad after making a"bad album".. i'd be so pissed
He also said it's cuz people didn't listen to the whole thing and never got to these songs
I heard that interview but some people who actually heard revival and didn’t like it .. castle and arose was one of the few songs they love
The writing is undoubtedly phenomenal. Revival had some great tracks like these two, Believe, and Chloroseptic.
The 2nd half of revival is classic. Those 2 songs are up there with the best ever rap songs. People who didn't like this album have never known pain

Took me a while to find the specific verse I remember this was in the A side of music to be murdered by but I should have known it was in a song called no regrets. I finally found the line in the second verse.

These two songs, in my opinion, are the most personal songs he's ever given us. Especially "Arose". That grief and pain his voice. Man!

I was watching in the live, crying my eyes out and again here I am..... crying. Phenomenal writing. I've got 11 years clean and lost my sister to an accidentaI overdose 9 yrs ago and I know it could have easily have been me. One of the realest songs I've ever heard. This song overwhelms me with so much emotion. You can hear the conviction in his voice.

I'm with you. I was on them for over 18 yrs. I've watched friends use and use harder substances, and I've lost more than I care to say. It's a tough subject, especially when you've experienced it first hand. The high of the emotion and the adrenaline or depression/anxiety I should say from the fall. You only know if you have been thru it and lived to tell. I was definitely lucky I was able to pull out of that life in time. Now I have 2 major blessings and reasons to stay away and keep my distance from that life and side of me. They're my heart and the major reason I'm still clean and sober today. Stay strong and know that no matter what, you're stronger than those demons will ever be!!

This song hits me every time. I’ve been on life support and recovered from fentanyl addiction 2 years ago. The feeling on the ventilator is exactly as I felt. This song hurts but also is healing.

Everything was about perfect. I never struggled with the addiction side of it, for me it was the parent lines as I just had a son at the time. I will have 3 years sober in March. I was smoking fentanyl everyday for 4 years and that is after I was snorting oxys for 5. I died once and can still remember the after life. I will never go back to putting myself and my family through that. Great reaction. Glad to hear you made it past your addiction also.
