    Chris, I've been working towards an L sit to handstand press ever since i watched your 10 minutes of hell workout! I'm a personal trainer and thought I was really fit, flexible........ Until I found your channel and you opened my eyes to a whole new world! thank you

    As a guy that is almost 60...I did these exercises when I was in gymnastics in junior and high school. I just find it interesting how all these gymnastic moves, are now a part of the new body weight workout programs now. When I was young...they weren't necessarily considered cool. It just seems very interesting to me...when I was doing these things in gymnastics...half of the time, very few people even would have thought it was particularly cool. And now, a lot of fitness guys are doing the same moves as exercise.

    • @OFFICIALTHENXSTUDIOS
      @OFFICIALTHENXSTUDIOS  8 лет назад +48

      hey bern, not entirely. the "cool" thing is still body building, lifting heavy, and trying to look un/human like the hulk. go to the trade shows that's all you'll see. Gymnastics IS calisthenics. so is dance and any other exercises that involve body weight training. I do agree with you in that calisthenics and and this type of training is gaining more attention, because more people are getting into it, and the big guys are realizing they are big for no reason. but isn't that a good thing? thanks for watching =]

    • @bern-zlespere6172
      @bern-zlespere6172 8 лет назад +28

      Of course, it is ALL good to me. I'm just saying...now you have the "bar stars". I'm not saying it is bad...I'm just saying I find it "interesting" that when I was doing these moves as a youngster, most people weren't at all into it. Now I see videos on RUclips all the time. I know I may sound like a typical "older" guy talking about the old days...but when we were doing "muscle ups" working out in gymnastics years ago...pretty much no one else was even thinking about that. That's all.

    "MASTER CURLER" LMFAOOOO

  • @wedernoch6441
    @wedernoch6441 7 лет назад +9

    A good tip is learn balancing crow position (Bakasana). crow is putting your knees on the elbows. As soon as you easily balance this position its a a piece of cake to push up to handstand from that, because you allready trained to balance your body on the palms a lot (a skill often lacking in people who want to do handstand ASAP! ). Quite a few people have the strenght allready but lack the balancing. Crow helps with it and its comparably easy (strenghtwise). its also a good prequel (for beginners) for planche , if you cant do a tugged planche yet.

    It may assist folks to understand using physical therapy terms in descriptions including bone joint names with the addition of geometry and angles of attack. I realize it would require a few enthusiastic nerds such as myself to assist. Also, what might you think of including a female ThenX demonstrator? Then y'all three rotate, two exercising one precisely explaining each exercise what to emulate and what to avoid by example as well as how the exercise should feel during performance. Then following each exercise the two demonstrators may explain how they feel and felt while resting.

    I have tried the handstand on the dip bars. Not feeling comfortable with my grip on the bars. The handstand on straight bar will have to wait.
    I will a try the handstand on the dip bars tonight.
