Ok, wildflower meadow time!! Take the mixed up seeds and scatter them in an area for a meadow! I have an open area right in front of my house where we plant wildflowers every year. One year in the fall I gathered up all my oldest, and I figured likely not viable, flower seeds and scattered them in my (inactive otherwise) vegetable garden beds and in my wildflower meadow, as part of my winter "cover crop" and the next spring I had many wonderful surprise plants come up!! I enjoyed those plants for several months. Then you can either move them as you desire, from place to place, once you recognize what they are, or just let them stay and go to seed, then collect the seed for later. I have a lot of seed to add to this year's fall wildflower planting, including some more ornamental grass seed. ...I have succeeded (so far) in not ordering too many bulbs, except some lilies and alliums, but I have already placed orders for several roses, mostly to replace the ones I lost this year due to mistakes I made and the several I lost due to the heat/drought/grasshopper damage. Just got in 18 more to plant now, but the rest will come in the spring. ...I have that book!! So pretty. Good tip about the tar too. I actually just discovered Flex Seal paste, and used it to repair a large broken planter, which worked very well. But I also have some watering cans and some old kettles that need to be patched some how. Jeri, I wish I could express how much I look forward to your videos. My heart jumps a bit when I see the notifications. I love your "views." I enjoy getting to see the changes you make and how your gardens are growing and evolving. I love all the farm sounds and the animals too. I'm already watching my second time through, thinking I need to make a trip to town to get some heucheras to plant. Thank you so very much for all that you share with us.

I'm afraid I've already jumped on the "ordered too many bulbs" wagon! I had to move 5 rose bushes due to mistakes in the location, I may have killed one or 2 of them.
The tar works great for so many things, and we had it on hand.

Hi Jerri, If you are wanting to have more Thuja pines they are easy to strike. Just take a heel cutting eg pull off a healthy piece with the heel on it and pot it up. I take mine in Spring here and they grow on slowly over time. By 2 years you will have a nice healthy one ready to plant out. I usually do 3 at least and so far nearly every one I have done has grown on.
I have 3 at the moment in medium sized terracotta pots that I need to buy larger pots for as I don't need them in the garden. They also look amazing in the pots.
Not sure if you get that pine disease over there but even if you do they do not get the disease that many other pines do. They remain lovely and healthy as long as they get sun and good air flow.
My row of them over time ended up a bit close together even though I thought I had given them lots of growth room. They do die off on the sides where they meet if they don't have the right spacing.

My parents came back to their camper one time and a squirrel had chewed through the window screen and helped himself to a whole bowl of wrapped Snicker bars! Little Rocket looked so sweet walking through the debris field. “It won’t happen again Mom.” With all of your extensive gardens it’s weird that the critter/s would have went for the packaged stuff before eating the fresh seeds! It is STILL so wonderful to see your gardens with the beautiful animal sounds in the background. Do you ever make dried wreaths? I think, Things always look good sitting on a green table in a beautiful rustic country garden. Your garden loves you! Oh, I would love to see a little continuing picket fence around the necessary oil tank. Would be in keeping with what is already there. I’m not much on evergreens they don’t seem to be long lasting and burn out sometimes on the sides. Personal opinion there. Love the chicken idea, seems like I was kept busy breaking up nest this yr and I think I will let the girls have one if they insist, next year and see how that goes. Thanks. I will be watching this more than once for all the inspiration. Have a wonderful fall.

Thank you for the tour of the garden rooms. Use Flex Seal liquid to seal the old leaky watering cans. It’s easier to purchase than roofing tar. Mice got into the grass seed I just bought. The reason I know it was mice is 2 of them couldn’t get out of the bucket!

Little stinkers, but they are so cute to look at!
We had the tar on hand, so it was pretty easy

Delightful, interesting video! So sorry you lost all those seeds and packets! I'll bet you were horrified when you saw the mess and damage. This, too, shall pass lesson learned. God bless the rest!😊❤🌾🌿🌼

First thing tomorrow I’m going to put my precious seed packets safely away because right now they are on my porch on the garden bench for all the critters to eat.

Jeri, I look so forward to your videos. I even ordered the gardening book you were showing. I live in the FL panhandle & we had some beautiful fall weather this morning, so time to begin my fall gardening. You got me inspired, so thank you!!

I am really struggling how to achieve a harmonious flow from one area to the next. I do believe that I should change my focus to one area at a time. Maybe trying to "fill in" several areas at a time is my downfall 🤔. Your garden rooms are stunning. Thank you for sharing.

Ours evolve over time. I've found it's best to just take it easy with one area at a time adding paths along the way. Before long, one path leads to another garden or a courtyard, which then leads to an arbor or a garden structure. After some planning, trial and error, things begin to flow together.

My neighbors had a small, lovely, beautifully decorate RV on their property in Northern Michigan. They winterize it in late October. This spring, they went to prepare the RV for their summer camping trips. The entire RV was completely destroyed. An exterminator discovered 57 chipmunks. Those ravenous little beasts had a winter feast. They ate the upholstery, drapes, towels, shower curtain, mattress and all the bedding. The damage was so extensive that the RV was a total loss. They even ate the carpeting and paneling. Since it was not covered by insurance, they decided to sell it to a recycling center. The smell from the urine and droppings was quite intense. They have abandoned any future plans to live up north ever again. Fix that window before winter. They will be back because they found food source. Don’t let them get at your books or textiles.

That is a real HORROR story! How awful for them and how devastating. Those little rodents look so cute, but the damage they do is unbelievable.
