Thanks for the feedback Tony! I already have the Mini CP and V120D02S v2, and apart from a stripped tail gear on the V120 (which was caused by a crash or three lol), Walkera's have been fine for me so far. In fact my Mini CP has taken a downright beating, and still flies. Look forward to your next videos mate. :)
The D03 has a one way bearings so technically you can do autos, but it's pretty hard with a heli this size. Not much room for mistakes, so you need to know how to auto really good haha. I sure can't do it, but in the right hands I'm sure it can be done. I been flying for a few years now. Still learning
Probably not since it looks like they are switching over to the Devo transmitter. You can always email Walkera and ask if they plan on making a version that will bind to the 2801 :)
Over the years I haven't any problems with the Walkera's. Well if you count the few times the servos went out, but those issues were from multiple crashes. You can call it luck or not, but I have flown them all. I would say the problem comes from pilot error either due to a bad setup or by crashing. Like with all electronics you should expect some point of failure sooner or later. Even with my Blade helis I have had issues with motors and servos failing too. But Horizon = good service :)
Hi Tony, Thanks for the VDOs, I always learn something new and interesting watching them. I am in almost the same situation as VicVic, except I've already a preowned TRex 450 which I have not been able to use with my Devo 8s.It's been almost 3 months and I have not been able to get it to fly. On the other hand I have two Walkeras, a V200D01 and a Genius CP and they are a joy to fly. I am now thinking of buying a V450D03 BNF... After watching your review I think it could be a good possibility
Thanks for your video. I would say I am now an advanced beginner and find myself watching a lot of video reviews and you were one of the clearest, most detailed reviewers and you provide very good focused detailed video. What do you use to film?
Hey Tony, Didn't realize it was you until I saw your profile picture. I've been watching you since I got into this hobby with the 4F200. You improved alot since then...lol... I've always trusted your reviews and once again I did and bought one. I figure it's alot cheaper to practice new moves on this first than my new X5 premium edition. Keep up the good work... Where's the flight video?
Mine was a sample :) The cyclic servos are metal gear on my sample. The servo is the normal 9-12g size servo. The exact servo weight I am not sure, but you can find it on Walkera's website. I'm not sure on the specs of the motor. Walkera doesn't have the specs for it. Well mines was only a sample so things may be different from what other vendors will carry :)
?? No, they are backwards. Unless you fly all your heli's like that. The rotation direction is normal, The blades are just mounted with the leading edge backwards. They were like that in the flight video too! :)
Awesome vid again Tony. Seriously considering this heli as my Xmas pressie to myself lol. So this is basically a V450D01 v2 (electronics etc) on a cheaper frame, would that be correct? I've heard a few people on forums say Walkera's servos/receivers on the V450 aren't reliable...would you care to shed any light on that? That's basically the only thing stopping me from purchasing this heli right now. I already have a Blade 450 3D, but I'd like a flybarless heli of the same size. :)
Hi Tony, Very nice Preview, but i have still one problem. What is better? V450D01 or V450D03? Ok D01 is from Aluminium, but I still do not know which one to buy...
Thanks. The Walkera heli's is good for something to get started fast. I've owned a few Align heli's over the past and I have to say they are much better. You pretty much get what you paid for :) hehe Oh yea you can always get Align parts at 99% of the local hobby shops
I just purchased one from 9imod. Where did you get yours? Are you sure those are 12g servos? But they are metal though right? Same ones on the D01? What size motor is it?
Don't worry Tony you weren't talking too much as a matter of fact you gave gave a fantastic review of the Walkera bo3 450. I bought the same one and I'm so happy I did because every aspect of this helicopter is amazing. It is my first collective pitch flybarless helicopter and I was a little bit nervous because I didn't want to crash it so I bought training year but the helicopter is still stable in Flight I didn't even need the training gear how do you like that one I really like to see you fly this thing on a video do you have any advice how to do 3D stunts and I don't know how to activate the idle up on my helicopter how do I activate the idle up I know there's a switch on top but for some reason she won't spin up do I have to program the idle up on my helicopter if you can help me thank you.
Hi i brought the same heli from walkera and having problems with the 6 axis gyro i can't get it to auto correct i have tried moving the aileron/elevator sensitivity pot nothing, the manual is really basic and i can't find more information on the net maybe i have to update the receiver software any help would be great thanks Aaron
What brand battery charger and type (AC/DC or just AD.) would you say would work best. Also what Battery. I order the 450 and waiting for it's arrival. But the battery and charger are not in the package. I could use you help in looking for the Charger and Battery. Thanks.
Hey Tony, I decided to get this Heli, but I'm not really into 3D stunt flying. Can you recommend a set-up for just sport flying? I'm decent at 4ch fixed pitch flying, and this will be my first collective pitch heli. But I'm only interested in sport flying. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
is the 6-axis unit not working at all? Hmm... it won't auto correct on it's own, but when you give input and let go of the stick the heli should remain that position. Increasing the ail/ele gain will make the heli feel more locked in
Tony, for the life of me i cannot find a video on how to BIND A WALKERA DEVO 7 tx with a V450D03 that i bought BNF....The manual is useless so is thier any video out there that shows you ,how to do it???? Can you help please????
Negative...you are incorrect sir. As of right now, the V450D03 is not on the xheli site at all and the Master CP is and has been out of stock for weeks.
Hi there Tony! My name is Ray & I'm looking into getting into electric flight helicopters! Would you consider this bird for a beginner like me to start flying? How much does this bird cost?
I just got an offer from a seller on ebay for this helicooter with the rtf and extra batteries for 340 should i take or nah before the offer it was 460
@@tonytypes that's what I was worried about i did find lots of parts for it online and cheap still what would you recommend around this Size around 400 usd I got the v950 but the throttle curve is terrible the collective pitch its very unresponsive and 3d flying is possible just very hard because the tail motor is weak and spins all over the place also no glybar got an esky and the flybar is just stupidly annoying to adjust after a crash
No xheli. They usually don't get the first shipments in for some reason. You should email Wowhobbies for Helidirect. They can probably give you a better answer when the BNF kits will be coming in.
I have a sim and have been trying to decide what model heli to get first...I have been flying indoors on the WL Toys V911......I can now sport fly fairly well on the sim and notice the larger helis are easier to fly than the smaller models, I like the Walkera 450 size and the Blade 230 model.....does anyone have a recommendation for a beginner like me...thanks
Walkera has abandoned the helicopter market except for several models. I am lucky that I was able to get myself the V450D01 with the carbon fiber frame and all metal parts. I have 2 V450D03 that I am still doing maintenance work to make it fly again. The parts for these helicopters are getting scarce in the US. I had to buy parts from Hongkong. I am getting out of Walkera as they are limiting production except for selected models. They are concentrating in drones where they make more money. I have no interest in quads except for the Lady Bird that I no longer fly. I love helicopters and will start disposing of the different Walkera mini and 450 size that I have accumulated. Blade or Trex is the way to go if one wants to stay in the helicopter hobby which is safer than quad, hexacopters "drones" that will be subjected to FAA rules very soon.
+Ramon Kabigting This is still using Carbon Fiber.. It's a plastic Carbon Fiber resin which is stronger and lighter than the old D01 frame.. I have a question.. I just ordered mine is there a way to get more flight time? Upgraded batteries or anything like that?
After i got a Devo7. I vowed never to buy anything from Walkera again, one of the worst English manuals ever made and programming it is a pain in the ass.
He talk about the charger that's follow don't charge properly... it take's 2-3 hours. " wopss he say get a better battery #better#,,,, Nope . battey from walkera is hi standard. Get a proper charger... exempel : iMAX B6 LiPro Balance Charger this will charge the battery in 1 hour safely. You can buy this by banggood.com Remember to buy AC adaptor 110v/ 220V if you wanna charge the battery at home from your wallsucket . A hint... Tomtop.com They sell the same product for less money. "B6+Power Supply"..its orange the charger not blue but is the same charger.... WOLLA ::: its the same include power supply . NB: cord to the wall is flat to ground if you have european standard for the wall.. easy you have compur\ wire use it.. enjoy.

yea I'm really liking how Walkera is improving so much.
I don't think the heli is released yet, but you can probably get it first from one of the Walkera dealers overseas.
Interesting how Walkera is stepping it up...looking forward to your flight video.

Thanks man. I need to find someone to record while I fly. Been busy these past few days so it's hard to get a flight in lol
No idea when. But I would look at the main Walkera dealer in the US. They usually will have the helis

I've seen them available from walkerahelicoptersupply in the USA... They are in stock...
Why doesn't Xheli sell this or the Master CP. These seem to be very popular right now yet, not widely available in the US.

Doubtfull, not after they have released the MTC-1 Magic Cube. Id say that one is the best option for flying devo stuff with a older tx.
Tony, I don't see this on X-Heli site. Is this available? Thanks

Tony,,,who do you suggest to purchase from?
Jim
Xheli doesn't have this heli yet. Not sure when they will be getting it.
Hi there Tony! My name is Ray & I'm looking into getting into electric flight helicopters! Would you consider this bird for a beginner like me to start flying? How much does this bird cost?
I can't find it on xheli or Oder it? Where Is it at??
Hopefully they will get it soon
I just got an offer from a seller on ebay for this helicooter with the rtf and extra batteries for 340 should i take or nah before the offer it was 460
It's a pretty old helicopter. I would probably pass unless your able to get parts for it.
Tail blades are wrong direction no ?
they have it. It should be on their site :) I did a flight review on it lol
Quality is much better than the erazor in my opinion.
What's wrong with plastic? My futaba 9257 tail servo that I use on my other heli is also plastic :)
