This is a stable helicopter for sure. Beginner...maybe, if you followed a strict new pilot course (look up RADD's School of Rotary Flight). This helicopter RTF with Battery and Transmitter can be obtained for around $300 if you shop the right places. Remember, it's not available here in the US yet, so shipping can become a factor.
Flight time is about 8-15 minutes depending on how hard you're flying. I'm not sure about how much weight it can light, but a GoPro would be nothing for this helicopter to lift.
thanks i just replaced esc with hobbywing platinum 40A it hardly heats up i was not waiting for stock esc to fail cheaper to replace it now than crash thanks again
No you cannot switch 6axis off while flying. The switch is on the receiver inside the helicopter. I haven't flown the Master CP. The Master CP is smaller and therefore more affected by the wind, so I would say it is just as easy as long as conditions are calm.
hello my friend, I have a helicopter WALKERA V450D03 I have the same problem. The main shaft plays upside down has gaps and so go up and down and the main gear, my I have replace 2 times why spoil what you will now do to fix this problem, I also want to ask you do you know if it fits tail of T REX 450 in VALKERA? can you HELP ME? what I will now do to build ?? and now suddenly I give throtle just flipped the tail, (as do sometimes when they are on the ground and whirl lawn launch and spin) I have not hurt anything is with the factory settings ... How you will now pick up the gaps of the central axis ??
very nice heli. do you have to constantly adjust the sticks on the remote for stable hovering? if you let go of your fingers on the remote, will the heli level itself?

I'm interested in getting this Heli. I'm only wanting to sport fly first.Is that type of flying posible right out of the box. Setting up throttle curves seems a little overwheming . I'm flying a small 4 channel fixed fitch now but am ready to move up.
The control sticks on my Devo 10 are reversed. When I rec'd my V450D03 it flew fine but after some minor scrapes the controls becme reversed and I cannot change them back to original service. In other words, the throttle/rudder control is now the aileron/elevator control. Vice Versa for the aileron/elevator control, it now serves as the throttle/rudder control. Need help in solving this problem: How do I restore controls to the proper sticks?

I recentl bought a "WALKERA W450D03" and and still haven't even used it "2" PITCH SERVOS ALREADY BURNED OUT WHEN I ONLY WAS CONFIGURING THEM. Can someone tell me why? Thanks.
This seems to be a great heli....Can you switch from 6axis to normal and back again while flying...i am thinking this would be great to teach yourself to get used to normal 3axis then if you were pitching to much you could switch back to 6axis and regain control and not crash...kinda like a safety net....thax...ps is the master cp easier to fly or the same since it also is 6axis?

THEN IF I MOVE IN ANY COMAND (RUDDER / ELEVATOR / AILERON) THE ENGINE TURNS ON AT LOW ROTATION AND ONLY I CAN STOP IT BY TURNING OFF THE BATTERY ( including the "Throttle HLLD" does not act). I ALREADY SAW ALL THE CONFIGURATIOS OF THE RADIO. AND I CANNOT DETECT THE CAUSE OF THIS PROBLEM. CAN SOMEONE HELP ME? THANK YOU

First off, replace the stock ESC...it's junk. I suggest a 45a YEP. It has a great soft start. Otherwise, my pitch settings are: MODE - NORM Set EXP to OFF PL = -5% P1 = 15% P2 = 35% PM = 50% P3 = INH P4 = INH PH = +100%
I have a sim and have been trying to decide what model heli to get next...I have been flying indoors on the WL Toys V911......I can now sport fly fairly well and notice the larger helis are easier to fly than the smaller sim models, I like the Walkera RTF 450 size and the Blade RTF 230 model.....does anyone have a recommendation for a beginner like me...thanks

Gary listen to me bud and trust me. I wouldn't steer you wrong ok? I was new to collective pitch helicopters 2 years ago. The difference between me and you is that you had a simulator. I didn't so I had to start out on a micro pitch helicopter 6 Channel The Whole Nine Yards and I had so many crashes that I spent so much money but eventually went and bought myself a Walkera V 450 D03. had so many crashes on that I must have spent $300 and parts and went through about 6 sets of carbon fiber blades main gears and much more. in the end :0(. because it has a 6 axis gyro as opposed to most who have 3axis. It ok!!!!!!! But there much better helicopters out there. my honest opinion to you guys for you would be the wltoys v977 micro 6 Channel. you want to know why? because it packs all the channels and characteristics or should I say flight characteristics of a bigger helicopter packed into a really small helicopter you see the thing is that when you fly a larger let's say 450 class helicopter and you crash it it's going to break. number 2 you can't fly a 450 in the house its too big. obviously number three it can hurt someone including yourself and sometimes they can even be fatal. oh and I forgot number 4 they are qml extremely expensive. no what the wltoys v977 it packs everything minus all the headaches that I just explained you say you can practice indoors with it not only that but if you crash it or drop it you're not going to break anything and if it does Parts only cost a couple of cents or dollars at the most. Number 5 you're really not going to hurt yourself or anyone with it and number 6 you could pick it up for a little less than $100 so this is a win-win for you Gary and it presents a great opportunity for you to get your practice in the winter so by the time spring comes and summer comes you're going to be out there flying those helicopters with the best of them. good luck and write me back when you make progress
@ PJ.....I will always hate Dan Marino too...as I am an 85 Bears team fan...but getting back to the post....I was already thinking about picking up the small V977 too...I have read some positive reviews and you're right, they say it seems to fly with all the characteristics of the larger helis.....and I can definitely see your point about the costs of this hobby ......about the sim, I would recommend getting one...I have the RF 7.5 ( but I had to buy a new computer, the gaming machine type with a dedicated graphics card ) and was at first unable to even hold a hover..... now I set up some super windy conditions and love flying the different model helis , and I know if had to buy everything I have crashed, I would be thousands in debt...hahahaha....anyway, I have recently ordered the new Blade 200 S RTF ( not arrived yet ) but I might just pick up the V977 and fly it first.... thanks for your good advise...
i had 2 servos go up in smoke within days of each other the only servos i could get to fit are the originals does any one know of a good replacement servo make and model that will fit thanks

You should replace the ESC anyways. It's no good. I suggest the YEP series. The servos should be replaced with metal gear servos of a better quality than stock.

maggen007 I would replace all four of them or at least keep spares around to be able to replace them. The YEP 60A is a great ESC. Make sure you get a programming card with it.

DO NOT BUY if you crash it IS very expensive to replace because it IS impossible to remove the main rotor from the main shaft. That's why they sell an entire main rotor head. Walkera cheated by building them so tight with easily stripped screws so you have to spend much more than you should.

Yes. It's really stable right out of the box and you can adjust the settings on your transmitter to tone it down even further.
I ordered mine from Helipal... I've ordered from them in the past and I'm quite satisfied with them.

Yes, it's setup out of the box. You'll need to make minor tweaks once it's in the air to get flying exactly how you want.

It will self level, but hands free hovering can be dangerous. You need to make tiny corrections even on a wind-less day.

No, there is no beginner mode. You can turn up the correction of the 6-axis gyro to make it easier to fly.

Does this heli have 'GPS-hold' or 'return to home' functionality?
No, it doesn't have either of those features. This is a very old helicopter and those functions are very new, especially to helicopters.

Nothing has "failed". You just need to have spare parts in the event of a crash. That will depend on the crash severity.
i have a devo 7 transmitter i got with the hoten x brushed fpv, should i get bnf, and use my transmitter?

Yes, Walkera is notorious for bad servos. All I can say is...replace them with MG servos. Easy...

unfortunately drones/quads are very overhyped these days. It seems Walkera is now full in the Quadcopter area.

I think so. They are low cost (under $250) and you can still find parts for it (even Amazon has them).
