Thank you guys so much for the coverage all year!! Really enjoy the pods and the little insiders that are going on and going strong! Looking forward to follow you for the coming years
A shame he havent seen pogi against remco with both at top shape yet, at tirreno remco was off, pogi didnt start at lbl, pogi was tired at donostia and didnt start at la vuelta, pogi was off at worlds and remco didnt start today. I think the race dynamic with these two could be really interesting.
Honestly, Fabbro did that even better for Bora. They probably told him just pull a "Kämna on Fedaia". Formolo once again confirms that he's a beast after a long, hard race. He did a great job for Pogacar, when he did his final pull only Landa and Mas were left on Pogacar's wheel.
This is days after this post Benji, but I wanted to mention after reading another persons comment here that I was really moved when you said you don’t rate the value of entertainment of riders on the results they get but on the way they ride. I’m a huge fan of Alaphilippe and Remco and I was so happy in the 2019 TDF when Julian rode so well, but your comment made me think of Thomas de Ghent in that 2019 TDF and how he rode throughout that tour. He did win stage 8, but he was an artist and his flare, the way he rode won me over big time. Thanks for making this statement Benji.
Well done chaps on another successful season. It was great to see you do a bit of traveling to actual races, hope to see a bit more of that. Ciao for now
Hey guys, I don't think anyone was going to beat Pog and UAE, but even though Mas's tactics might not have panned out, I was impressed that he had the legs to stay with Pog and did as well with Remco in the Vuelta. Thanks so much for your hard work this season.
this years pogacar has been on top as a puncher but his climbing in general seemed in decline after tdf, Mas had the oppornity of his life to drop pogacar but it seems to me he missed it, he could have tried a super effort climbing to try and drop tadej because clearly Mas isnt beating pogacar at a sprint, Mas managed to keep his form really well after La vuelta which is very admirable
@@Queen-be6md I’ve never rooted for Mas before, but I have a ton of respect for him now after he was able to stick many times with Remco in the Vieira and his ability to stay with Tadej. I don’t know if Mas could have dropped Tadej if he tried to push beyond his ability. Mas’s biggest efforts seemed to be when Landa caught up with them. It might have been interesting if he and Lands could have worked together to attack Tadej, but it probably wouldn’t have worked.
I think the way Pog is he will try Roubaix but not next season. Next season will be about TdF revenge and not much else I think, but if he wins TdF again I think he will ride Roubaix year later. We will see if he is planning to by UAE signings, they need to buildup their team for that.
If you can't understand why Mas was pulling and trying to outsprint Pogacar instead of riding more conservatively, it's because you have years of Spanish press to catch up on. 😅 This said, I think that if Pogacar and Mas had been caught by Higuita, Mas would have had a worse result, so good for him. He didn't want to be Pogačar in Flanders, and unlike Pogi, for him second place in a monument is a huge thing he never thought he could achieve, so he wouldn't gamble it away for anything.
Completely team Benji: Rating the value of the rider by they way he/she rides As well agree that is it not an entirely popular opinion for sponsored, they want to see their brands on the top step of the podium but as cycling fan, its definitely more valuable and exciting than just winning, don’t get me wrong, it is important but the way those wins are achieved really enhances the win.
When I heard Benji say that about judging the performance by the way they road as opposed to just the result, it really spoke to me. The artistry of the cyclist and their flare being just as important or sometimes more so than just the result was a thing of beauty. It made me think of Thomas de Ghent. How I loved his cycling in the 2019 Tour de France because of the way he went early and attacked the parcours.
i mean its easy to say Mas cant win a sprint one on one against Pogacar. but he wont win a group sprint either. what should he do? he tried on the hills, nothing more he could do. if Pog is strong enough he will win.
At the same time as I appreciate that Mas has improved quite a bit the last year, I am affraid that he is just too skinny and seems really unhealthy. Im not surprised if he suddenly gets burned out and fade away. I know it is a lower BMI limit for ski jumpers, shouldnt this also be a case for cyclists?
There are other riders that look skinny and don't burn out, as well as riders looking too bulky yet have the correct climbing weight. Sight isn't really that good an indicator.
Yeah, I don’t think it’s talked about now how unhealthy the weight of multiple cyclists are and the fact that many of them have eating disorders as a result of the obsessions with weight
@@sean7098 I really doubt it is that much of a problem in pro cycling. These riders need to eat a lot just to stay on weight and riders that are too underweight/fed won't perform optimally either, especially not for 3 weeks or more. They are definitely closely followed by dieticians etc. Riders with serious eating disorders won't stay at the top level for long, months at most.
Vingegaard makes Chicken Rasmussen look obese yet he put in one of the most ridiculous power performances in this year's Tour. Froome was radioactive while looking like someone who hadn't eaten since the last supper in 32AD. It is a skinny man's game. Remco dropped weight this year and flew. Pogacar arguably is too fluffy. If he dropped weight his sprint might suffer but his watts would surge
@@alanmartin1 But its still an endurance sport. Being able to perform for 4+ hours for 7 straight days is necessary in 1 week races. If your body isnt able to recover properly it wouldnt work.
Tiny print comment. I know it's the end of the season... LR's zwift spots are feeling stale. Mix it up with big "B" having a few go's just for the ear entertainment.
Did anyone else find it lamentable that Mas and Landa did not try to collaborate more at the end and roll attacks on Pogacar?? Mas stands everything to gain by refusing to work with Pogacar and is really only risking second place for 3rd...
Entertaining season coming to an end good coverage throughout the year guys
Thanks Jan!

Sorry fellas, a little footnote, Mauro Gianetti from team UAE is Swiss and not Italian
Probably Swiss Italian
Enric really just a set of teeth with legs
😂
They are a stonking set of choppers
And Jonas really just a set of lungs on legs
Jumbo did a great job of dropping themselves
Honestly, Fabbro did that even better for Bora. They probably told him just pull a "Kämna on Fedaia".

@@znalniaskas Maybe he was looking for a juicy UAE contact. Lead out Pog for the win haha
I might be mistaken but according to my expertise that sword in the background might just be Anduril, the sword of Aragorn from The Lord of the Rings.
God damn it. 😂 I love how no one else but us will get the joke. 😅
So two options: A the Naesen's are secretly related to Isildur, or B Benji doesn't feel safe in Belgium anymore :D
*nerd alert*
You mean Andruil, flame of the West, the sword Narsil of Elendil reforged?
🤣🤣🤣

LR looking like he is questioning his life decisions after Pog drops Jonas on a 10% climb, wins a monument, and cements year end #1
😂
What a stunningly beautiful race. I can understand why many would want this to be their last before retiring.

Hi guys. Now that the season is over. Looking at the results and impact on the team, what are your top 3 transfers this pass season. And Bottom 3?.
Why you gotta disrespect Paris-Tours like that? ;)
where Benji's shark suit
I was very disappointed

Was Mas actually pulling with Pog, or was he just turning the pedals on the front.
He was indeed pulling

Hoping we see more twitch streams from Benji in this offseason
I might stream some Zwift rides. 😄 Likely on my RUclips instead of Twitch though.
Mas was riding for second. UCI points are important. Valverde 6th also helps UCI points.
For Movistar.
What a season man
Great season! With an even better ending!
Go Pogi! 🇸🇮🇸🇮🇸🇮🌪️🌪️🌪️

Remco Evenepoel denied to go for the this race. Why no one is talking about that?
I think Ineos is just advertising more often than not.
Terrible sprint tactics from Mas... He probably learnt it from the Movistar master tacticians.
