    I want to express my gratitude for creating and sharing the RUclips video detailing the repair of your Mercedes Benz's plastic problem. The video helped me fix the same issue with my vehicle, saving me $2,500 in repair costs. Your video is much appreciated, and I am now a huge fan of your content. 30:25

      @@314pickleball hey brother. I fixed the shifter, but the vehicle's driving issues continued. The next day, the problem remained, leaving me unsure of what to do next. Unfortunately, the vehicle stopped on interstate 35 in Ardmore, OK.

      @@pasorie3383 Oh no, what happened, shifter stuck again? If so there's likely another piece of plastic hiding deep in there. If that's not it what is it doing?

    Dude, thank you very much that helped everything when you said that I had to pick up that piece in the bottom that module that was gold

      The minor details right lol! You're very welcome dude, thanks for the message! The first time I thought I got it all out, so I'm glad I took it apart again and made sure all of the pieces were out of there and sanded down the shifter opening edges. Tiny things can create big problems ;)

    Great video, thank you!
    I have exactly the same problem. Disassembly all of this clean it and remove the small plastic part that was braken and it was underneath of the shifter but my solenoid doesn't work. Is there any chance to know where i can buy only this spare part? (Solenoid?)
    Thanks again dude.

      Thanks bro! My pleasure! How do you know the solenoid is not working? I honestly didn't test mine, but the sheathing on the wires fell off so I wrapped it in electrical tape and used silicone so it wouldn't ground to any metal. Let me know what's happening for you, have a great day!

    My car won’t shift out of Park until warm. It’ll also get stuck in neutral & won’t go into reverse sometimes. Could the shifter be the problem? Thanks!

    • @314pickleball
      @314pickleball  2 месяца назад +1

      Hi, yes for sure this is the issue. You need to follow the step of removing shifter and removing plastic debris that's jamming the mechanisms inside.

  • @a4892455
    @a4892455 Месяц назад +1

    My SLK350 sometimes gets stuck in reverse gear. It's the same as yours. But when I turn off the engine and restart it, it's normal again. Did you end up changing the gear seat or just cleaning it to solve the problem?

    • @314pickleball
      @314pickleball  Месяц назад

      I made sure to remove any and all debris which took some time and filed the edges of shifter so it would not cause more plastic to shear off and jam up the mechanisms inside shifter again. Still working perfectly since cleaning out. At first it happened, then it worked normally then happened again so the plastic chunks will move temporarily but then fall back in and jam it up again. I hope it helps :)

    Hi 👋 Thnks for the video, I just purchased slk280 , and there is a problem to shift to Parking, when I slightly relase the foot from the brakes it's enter to Parking, can be it the same problem?

    • @314pickleball
      @314pickleball  5 месяцев назад

      Hi, not sure. Mine was stuck in D and N. I could not move to R or P. I am not a certified mechanic, but you could remove the shifter and see if the shift rod moves properly. If so then it's something with the shifter. It is possible plastic pieces are lodged inside and causing the problem.

      Hi @ronik1974
      I have the same issue, have you found the cause of yours?

      @@shawalkassim800any progress on your situation? Mine was stuck in drive and neutral. Definitely felt like an obstruction though. Drove it home, turned the car off in neutral. Popped the E brake, took my foot off the brake pedal. Searched and read some slk forum posts... Looked back down at the shifter and decided to try one more time and bam’ she shifted into park!
      Not sure if the problem will come back. I think I will clean out the plastic debris as well by taking out and cleaning shifter.

    Im sorry I can’t tell what part of the mechanism you lifted up. Also once you placed that black plastic elbow lever do you place it under the part of the mechanism you lifted or over the top of it?

    • @67694
      @67694 3 месяца назад

      Is it that 2 prong fork that you lifted and I assume you place the plastic L over it? Lifting it though was the thing that released that last piece of yellow plastic right?

    • @314pickleball
      @314pickleball  2 месяца назад

      @@67694 Hi I apologize for the delay RUclips is not sending me notifications!! The black elbow goes in first then the metal fork goes over it and rests and secures on the plastic where the solenoid will be installed...the solenoid is installed which holds that fork down so the elbow doesn't fall out. I hope that helps, but likely you have figured it out by now!

      Please can you explain this

    • @314pickleball
      @314pickleball  2 месяца назад

      @@Montana10842 It's hard to explain, but the metal fork holds the plastic elbow/lever in place with the addition of the solenoid being screwed in place holds it in fully. It's tricky to carefully place the metal fork and elbow into position so just play around with it until it sits perfectly where it needs to be, then secure solenoid back in place.
