An arc like structure is obtained So it's called reflex arc 3)Sensory neurons - these are those neurons which converts the stimulus into electric impulses and sends them to spinal cord Relay Neurons- these are basically the connection between sensory and motor neurons . The neuron that connects sensory with motor neurones are called relay neurons Motor neurones- these are those neurons which carry information To biseps muscles to contract for our survival . 4) diagram made in Notebook 👍 OP explaination 🙂
Umm...actually it is not necessary that motor neurons must connect to the biscep only..u can define'em as Those neurons that are connected with the effector muscle and yeah you can give example of the biscep muscle☺ WAS JUST TRYNA CORRECT THE MISTAKE ..NOT OFFENDING☺ ANYWAYS THANK YOU FOR THE DEFINITIONS🙇
Wow! I studied this topic for the first time and understood it completely in just 10 mins 😮🎉 this is the power of your teaching sir Love you Khan academy❤❤❤
Sir, My daughter understood it very well. You taught in such a way that she was able to understand at once. You took the best and easiest way to make others understand. Nice to learn with you!
Excellent video, what my school teachers and other online teachers could not explain in hours worth of time, Khan Academy has explained in minutes. An amazing explanation..believe me I was unable to understand a single word before watching this video and now I can take any question head on.
I just want to take a moment to thank you guys really. I am from Bangladesh and my 10th board exams are going on and this video literally cleared my conception in a matter of minutes. Never stop doing what you are doing now as you guys are a blessing for us.
Thank-you so much before i got this video I thought reflex action and reflex arc is very difficult topic but after watching this now am able to explain whole pathway orally... So thankyou for making this video
I am preparing for an up coming exam and i was so confused with this topic until i came across this video, it helped me understand the whole topic of reflex arc with out any difficulty. Thank you so much:)
Thanks kaha academy i understand we're will non of all topic of bio I didn't understand but I understand this topic by listening your explanation I really thankful of you you explain it very well I want you can explain all bio I request you to explain the heart structure internal structure of heart thank u so Mach❤
1.Reflex action are involntary action controlled by the spinal cord without involvement of brain . 2. Reflex arc is a method having one sensary neuron, Reray neuron and motor neuron. 3.sensary neuron- Transmit impulses to spinal cord. Reray neuron- it connect sasary neuron to motor neuron. Motor neuron- Transmit impulses to sensary organ. 4. Diagram done in my note copy.
The answer to the question is because when we wait for a response from the mind we will have burned from the candle beam so the immediate response is done thank you Mr for the lesson
Reflex action - In voluntary response to a stimulus Reflex arc It is a path which includes the sensory ,relay and motor neurons . Sensory neuron - send messages from sense organs to spinal cord Relay - connects the sensory and motor neuron. Transfers the electric signals from sensory to motor neuron Motor Neuron - carry messages back from spinal cord to other muscles as well as glands.
I know this concept is hard but after watching this video it's easy to me but I know that this concept was hard so, thank u very much Khan academy and I'm proud of myself.😀😀

Question : 1. When we walk , left and right legs communicate each other through reflex arc. Is this a fact ? 2. There are instances due to nerve compressions in discs ,say L1,L2, L3 knee reflex arc could be damaged due to falling or lifting wieghts or some other reason. Because of this a person might tend to fall when there is no even ground surfaces . Is this because each knee reflex arc actions do not communicate each other ? 3. After a surgery if the situation is restored , the reflex memory is said to set normal and it takes time. What is this reflex memory ? Where is it ?
😊 6:44 The signal does not go to the brain bez. Brain takes time to process then our body part is burned seriously. So spinal cord help for quick action.
reflex action is an involuntary response to a dangerous stimulus a reflex arc is the entire pathway where a reflex action takes place sensory neuron is the neuron that senses the stimulus relay neuron transfers the impulse from the sensory neuron to the motor neuron the motor neuron sends the impulse to the effector which is the bicep muscle in this case I'll do the drawing in my NB, thx so much Salman Khan sir lyy!!!
thank you so so much for this video, everything was concise and well-explained ! highly recommend, this helped me significantly for my biology test :))) all reflex-related questions i got correct thanks to you !
Involuntary response to stimulus - reflex 3 neurons involved: one detects the heat and converts to electrical signals => sensory, the other transmits the information to brain (but not in this case) => relay, and the third neuron transmits the information from the spinal cord to the bicep => motor. Why no brain? Because brain slow Number of neurons vary from reflex arc to reflex arc: knee-jerk reactions only require two neurons. (Why?) Loop = body of neuron

Please upload video lectures about developmental biology too .
reflex action is an involuntary response to a dangerous stimulus
a reflex arc is the entire pathway where a reflex action takes place
sensory neuron is the neuron that senses the stimulus
relay neuron transfers the impulse from the sensory neuron to the motor neuron
the motor neuron sends the impulse to the effector which is the bicep muscle in this case
I'll do the drawing in my NB, thx so much Salman Khan sir lyy!!!

thank you so much khan academy india . i am not joking u mde it mch simpler the textbook diagram was hard for me to digest . thanks a lot
Fact :
1. reflex action evolved before intelligence is evolved .
This is new to me .
Please come up with many other topics in English only.
In reflex action brain is not involved because it is explanted by theory of evolutionary relationship that is the Epic word of the whole video
So nice. Very clear. You know the things very well. Keep it up
Really nice video
But what app was used to make this video
Involuntary response to stimulus - reflex
3 neurons involved: one detects the heat and converts to electrical signals => sensory, the other transmits the information to brain (but not in this case) => relay, and the third neuron transmits the information from the spinal cord to the bicep => motor.
Why no brain? Because brain slow
Number of neurons vary from reflex arc to reflex arc: knee-jerk reactions only require two neurons. (Why?)
Loop = body of neuron
