    I really liked this down-to-earth review. Other major reviewers exaggerated how "small" the cabin size is and the "low" quality interiors, but I think they are biased after testing luxury vehicles. My parents drove a Kia Optima as their "nice" car and we grew up with it just fine so their complaints just make me 🙄😂

    I am an older retired guy that walks with a cane looking for a well-made, comfortable vehicle to run around town in and visit family less than an hour away. This fits the bill. I don't need AWD, so the front wheel drive is fine. I also don't need a turbo. It has enough power to get me into traffic coming from the ramp onto the freeway. For me, the SEL has all the features I need. Sunroof, tilt/telescopic steering, adjustable storage with a removable storage cover and a folding floor that can lower about 4 more inches for more storage. Several safety features are included. White, red or apple green would be my pick so more paint colors aren't needed. I like the gas door being on the driver's side. The lift hatch has a grab hold for closing the hatch without damaging the paint. Even a small thing like how closing the sun visor will also turn off the light hidden behind the visor. And the sensor that tells you left something (packages, a pet or a child) in the back seat and not to forget it could come in very handy. For the money, I think you get more than enough bang for your buck.

    I like how cute and compact this vehicle is!

    • @DriveAndBeDriven
      @DriveAndBeDriven  3 года назад +2

      For sure! Compact on the outside, and spacious on the inside. A great recipe for those that live in more urban environments where space is more limited. Also, the fuel economy I got with this inflated go-kart was quite impressive. 38+ miles per gallon. Not too shabby at all! Amongst BEST-IN-CLASS for sure.
      Can't wait to share my next video with you. Stay tuned, and thanks for your support. I really really appreciate it! 😊

      Yes, so cute! ❤ A bit too small for me because I have a Tucson. But I really like the style. Came back to this video because I just saw Marcus' Tucson 2022 review video. 🤗

    I live in New England and I am tired of awd being a make or break. It’s not entirely needed. After 20+ years with fwd, it’s just fine without any issues. It’s about how you drive it. Just me.

      At last a comment that is dead on. AWD is mostly underused and overrated in Frt wheel drive cars. Subaru and SAAB sold thousands before they went AWD.

  • @goldpony
    @goldpony 3 года назад +10

    Production quality always on point Marcus! And yes I agree with ya... Really the one major miss for this one is available AWD. It would sell so much better with AWD... it least where I'm at in PA! haha

      @DriveAndBeDriven  3 года назад +3

      Drew!!! You're the man! Thanks for stopping by and dropping a comment. I appreciate it! 👊🏼
      Agreed. The Venue being strictly FWD can be a rather substantial miss for certain people. Here in South Florida, it's not too much of a biggie... But, I understand that people live in all regions of the country (like PA for example). In areas like that, a lack of AWD may definitely be a deal-breaker for most. It'll be interesting to test out that "Snow Mode" in actual snowy conditions. I wonder how it performs.
      Thanks again for commenting. Your rendition was A+, too! :)

    I lease at 2021 Sonata, and while it was in shop, after a fender bender, the rental agency gave us a Venue for duration. WOW what a surprise! Not only was it easier to get in and out, it was nimble, quick, and fun to drive. Basically the Venue had all the safety features of the Sonata. So impressed is that I’m trading in the Sonata 1-1/2 yrs early, using the equity as a down payment and getting either the SEL (sunroof & Wifi) or the Limited (push button LED) and buying it!

    Definitely agree on all the misses you mentioned. Size wise I really like it, I wish Hyundai implemented more LED lights, a power trunk and an plug in hybrid model. And you are also right about the color choices, Hyundai has so many nice colors yet they have such boring color choices for the Venue. And I also agree that there should be another trim level that is higher then the Denim trim and there should be more two-tone color choices like white with a black roof, red with a black roof, silver with a black roof, blue with a black roof. If Chevy can do it with their new 2021 Trailblazer, then Hyundai can definitely do it as well.

    • @DriveAndBeDriven
      @DriveAndBeDriven  3 года назад +2

      Anthony!!! Thank you again for commenting. Glad we agree. :)
      I too wish Hyundai implemented more LED lights, but that'll be available on the slightly larger Kona. I feel like by the Kona being the middle-ground between the Venue and Tucson, it allows for Hyundai to package the Venue with a bit "less" in terms of "premium" features. Especially since the Kona starts in the low $20k range and is more comparable to the Seltos I had previously.
      A hybrid model would be superb, even though the 38+ mpg that I averaged was pretty gosh darn good! Haha!
      As far as the colors and power liftgate go, I'd love to see that improved upon in future model years... Especially when considering the demographics for this car.
      I forgot to mention it, but yes! The Trailblazer also offers a tasteful mixture of colors similar to the Soul, 500x, and Cooper 4-Door.
      Hopefully, Hyundai sees this video and rectifies as many areas that they can in the coming years. It's still a very solid car, but like all cars, it's not perfect. Can't wait to share my next video with you, Anthony! 🙌🏽

    • @DriveAndBeDriven
      @DriveAndBeDriven  3 года назад +1

      Haha! Awesomeness!! While the Venue may be on the compact side of the spectrum, it still packs a relatively spacious cabin. Essentially, you can rest assured that in a pinch you can seat 3 people in the back seat. That is, of course, if your 30-year-streak of having no one in the backseat changes. 😅
      Thanks for stopping by! I hope you enjoyed this review. Do you have a Venue now? Or are you considering getting one? Let me know if you have any questions. I am here to help out! :)

    Woof! It's cute, but I don't think my large dog bed will fit the way I like! Does the floor drop in the rear like the Kona? Agreed, more 2 tone options would be nice along with more color on the inside :)

      Right back at ya! WOOF! WOOF! Andie, I don't think your humungous bed will fit back here either. You're a big girl. Something like a Kona or Tucson would be much better for you. To answer your question, yes! The cargo floor features a two-tier feature (which I will cover in more detail during my cargo evaluation review airing soon). HANG TIGHT!
      By the way, for a pup, your taste in exterior design is impressive. More two-tone options would make this car even more of a hit for sure! Thanks for stopping by, Andie!!!!!!!

    I've had a VENUE for 1.5 years and 20K on the clock. Gas milage is great. 42.5MPG on 60mph trips. Keeps up with traffic on I75. Really easy to drive and I've had them all-Corvettes, BMW to Porsche. Its a great value - Starts at $19K- Vehicle is solid, feels really planted to the road. But, its not keen on Windy days. Bread Box design is the culprit here. Yes, a bit more oomph would be good. The sports mode really changes the mood of the car. Hope this CVT tranny doesn't give it up as in other makes. But it does shift smooth. The VENUE rides well, seats could be a bit longer under the legs - But I guess its Korean heritage accounts for the length of thigh support.Hey, it even comes with a REAl spare tire. Take that BMW...AWD is over rated - unless you are in Alaska or off road it -you really don't need it - so quit whining about the lack of it. I hauled a full recliner in this car - Yes, the floor does drop. Buy one and not the trail blazer- Save thousands..

    Honestly the Kona is better. The only thing I like are the square DRLs

    • @DriveAndBeDriven
      @DriveAndBeDriven  3 года назад +3

      Hey, Eric! Thanks so much for stopping by and dropping a comment. I 100% agree with you! Those square DRLs definitely look pretty snazzy on the Venue's front fascia. But, I wouldn't particularly say that the Kona is hands-down "better" than the Venue. Of course, it essentially comes down to an individual's needs, but they both have their strong suits.
      The Kona is "better" if someone wants more premium features, a more accommodating cabin, available AWD, and quicker/more engaging performance.
      While the Venue is "better" for individuals looking for something more budget-cautious and fuel-efficient, yet still somewhat SUV-like.
      Hopefully, I can get my hands on a Kona soon to analyze its highs and lows in more detail. Let me know if you have any questions, and please stay subscribed for more awesome videos coming very soon! Thanks again, Eric!

      Thanks for your suggestion. Please subscribe for more awesome reviews coming soon. Also, let me know if you have any questions regarding the 2021 Venue. Take care, Jaire!

    Why would anyone want more upscale options in a cheap basic economy car with shiny cheap hard plastic everywhere inside?

    I drive 40 miles each way to work on some mountain roads. I only need snow mode 2 weeks out of the year. What do you think?

    Your top 5 may seem like bigger issues to you, but they are fairly subjective. I think overall for what the car does feature for the money it's a good deal. I traded a 2019 Nissan Kicks SR Premium for the 2021 SEL Premium.

      😂 Happy you found that funny, Julian! LOL! I tried to mix in a bit of comedic relief in the "miss" section of this review. Glad it resonated well! More videos are on their way. 🙌🏽

    Well it misses a lot if the price is more. And we can argue since its price range is not that same as to the ones you looking for. We cant complaint since its more cheaper than the other subcompact crossover.

    • @DriveAndBeDriven
      @DriveAndBeDriven  3 года назад +1

      Indeed! You're absolutely correct, Alden! The price of the Venue is considerably less than a lot of its competitors. Thus, slotting it in a slightly lower pricing range. Essentially, we cannot complain too much for the elements that this vehicle is "missing" because it is more affordable than a considerable amount of sub-compact SUVs. In fact, the Venue starts under $19k, which is very modest nowadays.
      All in all, you make total sense. Thanks for sharing your insight. I truly appreciate it. Please subscribe for more awesome reviews coming very soon, Alden! Also, check out my other videos of the 2020/2021 Venue, when you get a chance. Many thanks! :)

    The Kicks gets way worse milage!! I had mine for a year, my wife got the Venue and she's getting way better milage over the "claimed" milage of the Kicks.

    I was dead set on getting this in white because it's just so gorgeous but then I was warned off of the white because apparently there is an issue with the white paint with all the car manufacturers across the board. Being knowledgeable in the car world is there anything you can say to that? I'm going to be disappointed if i have to pick another color, tho the grey I test drive was also really sharp looking.

    I carry 9 people in my 800cc car in hilly terrain and still does not feel under power, considering that Venue is sufficiently powered.

    I have a H Tucson 2016, I hit my head often when I jump in it to start driving. I’m 5”7. Is it me? Or car roof too low?

    • @DriveAndBeDriven
      @DriveAndBeDriven  3 года назад

      Ouch! That doesn't sound like fun! My uncle has a 2016 Tucson, and have driven it before. But, I have never hit my head. I am 6 feet tall, but it may just be how you have the seat adjusted. Let me know if you're still experiencing this issue.
      Also, thanks for checking out this review of the 2021 Venue. Hope you enjoyed it! Please subscribe for more awesome reviews coming soon, Patricia. Take care!

    I can’t see why someone who wants a cheap car like a venue would want a premium trim lol. Might as well just get a better car

    Well, I wouldn't pay 25K+ for an Accent redone higher. Needless to say, it wld be near 30K CDN in Canada.
