    Should be able to, Fender are re-releasing the Bass VI soon which is tuned like this from factory.

    Nice review, thanks. I just wish the sound quality was better. It is difficult to judge the tone of the guitar with this recording.

    How would this guitar hold up with heavy metal and would it be alright to use Drop B tuning for it?

    do they make these Hagstrom guitars anymore, and if so, where? Fender should make a Stratocaster version of the baritone guitar. How much do they cost, in general? How would you play along with a standard tuned band? What adjustments would be made?

    Hi! Thanks for the video! Would you mind making a video like this of the Hagström Super Swede? I'm thinking of buying one and would like some more meat on the bone about the guitar! Thanks!

      Did you ever buy one? I just bought a super swede and haven't receive mine yet but was wondering what your impression was.

      +Fallinldols Ibanez's SRC 6 is really good for a Bass VI, I have one and it's definitely really good, would recommend.

    Blaming the audio of the camera is always rather a weak excuse. I don't know of many TV or film companies that rely on the sound from audio in on a camera.
    If you've got quality mics and an audio interface, record the audio into a computer and sync the audio track with the visuals at editing. That's what a timecode's for.

    • @philb2052
      @philb2052 4 года назад

      You dont even need time timecode if you've got working eyes and ears

    Sometimes hollow bodies feedback like mad. How does this handle volume? like let's say volume of the 40+watt tube amp variety through 2 cabs... to the level of tube drive?
    Anyone out there compare this to a Fender Bass VI, Schecter Hellcat or Blacktop Tele (more similar scale length)? I'm oscillating between the 4 of these fine instruments.

    Can ýou do a Eb-Ab-Db-Gb-Bb-eb tuning on this particular Hagstrom baritone? What string gauge would you recommend? Thanks!

    • @kazukihiratani
      @kazukihiratani 3 года назад

      You can do it with a set of 9s or 8.5s. Daddario and Stringjoy got you covered.

  • @MisterLumpkin

    Wow 28" neck...I'm newbie but how do you play that?! I thought 25.5 was just getting long.

  • @frankh2349

    soooo......lets say u tune this beast to standard E; does it break? just curious

    • @codycarter5902
      @codycarter5902 9 лет назад +2

      probably, basically the entire point of a baritone is to not tune to standard

    • @Psyfonify
      @Psyfonify 9 лет назад +4

      if you use very light strings, no, it will feel like normal tension and wont break. buckethead plays baritones tuned to standard just because he has big hands

    • @codycarter5902
      @codycarter5902 9 лет назад +1

      Psyfonify really? that's cool, I didn't know you could do that, I always thought it was kind of like for people who want a 7 string without the 7 strings

    • @Psyfonify
      @Psyfonify 9 лет назад +4

      ***** nope, just like how a les paul has a 24.75 inch scale length and a strat has a 25.5 inch scale length, most people use a heavier gauge string on their les paul to get the same tension they get with a lighter string on their strat. the longer the scale length, the more tension on the same gauge string tuned to the same pitch. if you tuned the stock baritone or any baritone strings to standard E that would be very bad, but if you got light strings, like 9-42's or 8-42's you could have a regular string tension tuned to standard E on a 27 inch scale length baritone.

    • @Psyfonify
      @Psyfonify 9 лет назад +1

      ***** and no, baritones dont have a relation with 7 string guitars, they have been around since the first half of the 20th century, but nowadays they do get used more for metal. me, i want one really bad, so i can tune it FFCFAD. id need lighter strings on every string except the low F, which id need like a 65 or 70 gauge string, but the baritone scale length would help that low F ring out better and clearer.

  • @noirextreme

    Unfortunately I am not a specialist, all I am saying is that the recording sounds "flat". Maybe it has to do with the way you capture the sound from the amp. You should try using a better microphone or an amp with a direct capture.
    Sorry I can't help further.

      burkhard lueneberg it's Kurt cobain, he was the lead singer and the only official guitarist of nirvana, he died on April 4th, 1994 due to a self inflicted gunshot wound to the head. Not sure if this was bait or not so I answered honestly.

    Please don't use heavy effects, chorus etc in your demos. We want to hear the tone of the guitar, not the pedals.

  • @greckendale
    @greckendale 10 лет назад +5

    Unless youre playing Come As You Are, please burn your chorus pedal!!!

  • @donjuan2611

    Was that a sensitive note? Because I made a comment about a guy demoing a baritone he's obviously never used? I'm sorry if all your "subscribers" can't get you out of working minimum wage at a guitar shop.

  • @TheMrturn1

    A chorus on a baritone guitar? Awful choice for a public demo.

    • @richardharrold9736
      @richardharrold9736 7 лет назад +1

      Why so? Some people like sticking a load of effects on a baritone.

    • @josephsmith8087
      @josephsmith8087 6 лет назад

      TheMrturn1 I personally use distortion, wah, tremolo, octave, delay, and phaser effects on a baritone. Then again, I play mine like a down tuned standard guitar.
