I think BEP really just want to try their odd music idea in here. but it's not like any other group experimental music. it's sounds normal instrumentally and vocally, it's just the song structure which is not usual. but still, sounds so goood! LOVE is one of the best b-song from them for me. it's empty... but somehow it fills. listening this song (and the whole album) with analytical ears most probably will sounds weird. need to enjoy the song to get the vibes, you will know what I mean when you react to it.

Yes, Isa and Seeun have the perfect voices to be the queens of pre-choruses. Young Luv’s final chorus is Yoon and Sieun, and I think the song can be best appreciated by watching the live performance they had; it gives me goosebumps hearing them sing this song live. It’s interesting that you pointed out Butterfly’s bridge gives you a SM vibe. They also have a highlight medley of this entire album that’s worth watching them singing snippets of all these songs live. Very chill and vibey.
Run2U was my official intro to STAYC and the song will never get old. And then I went to the beginning with So Bad (LOVED it) and it cemented what I already knew after RUN2U. That I loved this group. I say “official” because unofficially, I didn’t know anything until I saw Isa in the Fiction cover. She was so stunning. And I learned she was in STAYC. And then RUN2U popped in my suggested videos and well, that’s all she wrote. EDIT: Butterfly could have been composed by Jamiroquai. Loved the late 70’s/early 80’s r&b vibes and the lo-fi sound fits it so well. It’s SO GOOD.
The 2nd build up that didn't lead to chorus on 247 and butterfly is kinda a signature to BxN, I think this is the first time they had a new producer aside from BEP so it has a different structure. 🤔 The first background runs at the last chorus of Young Luv wasn't Isa but Yoon. 😅 And Butterfly's last chorus' harmony was done by three people Sumin, Sieun and Yoon. 😅

I don't really mean it as a critique, I'm just curious about your thoughts now, since I feel like it's a different experience listening to a song without pausing, though I get that it can't always be helped. It's funny, I actually listen twice and then just cut it up later cuz 5 songs would make a very long video! lol Young Luv has definitely grown on me, even I Want U Baby I've come around on, it is very simple but mixed and paced pretty perfectly that I agree this album could have a more simple song.

Anyway, I'll just be saying a bunch of nonsense that my fellow Swith have already said about Young Luv both the album and the song. At this point they are both my favorite in each category. Young Luv is one of the best albums I've ever listened to up there with Discovery, Homework, Mer de Noms and Disintegration. Speaking of Disintegration Young Luv the song is like Robert Smith wrote a Cure song for the 6 best voices you've ever heard in your life. Everything about this era is just perfect.
