Every once in a long time, an overbearingly hyped beverage justifies all the commotion. Monkey 47 is one of those. Several years ago, a friend of mine was in a lounge at Frankfurt International Airport. He noticed the bottle, asked "Monkey 47? What the Hell?" He tried it, brought back a bottle from the duty free shop, and tried it out on me. It got a glowing review from several influential critics and suddenly you couldn't find the stuff for several months. It's my favorite, along with Barr Hill Gin. Disclaimer: I live in Vermont where Barr Hill is distilled. So, I'm obligated to enjoy it. ☺
It is over 200 bucks here (500 ml) in Brasil, but shit, the alcohol balancing is indeed awesome. It leaves as little of a hangover as possible, it is smooth. The spicyness is pleasant, the florals and citrics are there and i haven't got a clue as to how differ them properly, but the adventure is worth it.
i just bought 2 bottles & they cost $54.95 CAD for a 375ml but i hear this tastes way better than hendricks as that’s my favourite gin brand! i’m most likely gonna age one & enjoy the other on new years or christmas
I really don´t see that score. This gin is in every bar here in Munich and I really only order it if there is no alternative. It really lacks refinement and imagination in my view.
We haven't managed to get over to Germany yet but we understand there is a great selection of gins available and we are desperate to try a lot of them. The great thing about gin is that it can open up huge debates about different flavour profiles and just goes to show how different peoples palettes are. thank you for watching this video.

The best way to enjoy this gin is in a dry martini. Along with just a teaspoon of Dolin dry and a single drop of orange bitters

One of my favourit gin. Always try to have a bottle at home. Only down side is the price here in Sweden
