Great analogy. I used to play amateur football as a running back. Now, tell anybody that for 90mins of practice you’re taking 70 max effort sprints and from top speed, fall to the ground. They think your being silly. Ann like Davante said, that is still without hitting, grabbing, twisting and trying to breaknout from all of those. Football is a different sport.
He said Dame is his favorite nba player while simultaneously ignoring that Dame is bigger than most CBs and Safeties. Dame goes in the paint on dudes significantly bigger and stronger than him… but nba players can’t take the physicality.. 🙄
I personally watched a 6’8” Basketball player at my College play basketball for 4 years and in his 5th year switch from basketball to my football team after not having played football in 5 years and bulk up to play Offensive Tackle and he made it to the NFL. I absolutely think what Austin Rivers said is true but only IF the basketball player has toughness.
But that's not what Austin Rivers said. Your story is irrelevant to what Austin Rivers said. Austin Rivers made it seem like NBA players right now can just put on shoulder pads and play in the NFL and that's not true. So you having a story talking about somebody in your school played a basketball for 4 years and then their fifth year switch to football and it made it to the NFL well he switched when he was an amateur. Also with a lot of y'all basketball people are missing is that a lot of football players grew up playing basketball also. Chris Carter Hall of Fame wide receiver was an Allstate basketball player in Ohio. Reggie White the Minister of defense Hall of Fame defensive end was our Allstate basketball player in high School in Tennessee. Terrell Owens is a good basketball player. Randy Moss play basketball in high school and was a good basketball player. Barry Sanders Hall of famer used to enjoy playing basketball during the summer time to get a good workout, and from what I've heard from other teammates he was really good at it same with Walter Payton. Joe Montana and Dwight Clark were reportedly good basketball players. Dwight Clark and Joe Montana reportedly from other teammates both could dunk. Most NFL players also grow up playing basketball in some organized type of way. I don't hear about a lot of basketball players playing pee wee football or playing football in high school.

You can see the differences in muscle texture with football and basketball. You can actually see how dense football players muscles are compared to your typical NBA build. Years of impact makes the specific look. Thay being said....basketball players do look sick AF. My favorite by far
Impact has nothing to do muscle texture. You run about 8-10 miles during an average bball game. Try maintaining dense muscle with all that running. Guys like Lebron, Westbrook, Antman would quickly gain more muscle if they transition to football.
This argument is stupid considered most NFL players were once basketball stars…so why wouldn’t NBA players be able to play in the NFL when these players played multiple sports.
WTF are we actually talking about here? First of all, there's only 15ish players per roster in the NBA vs 50 plus on an NFL roster which means its more than twice as hard to make the NBA vs the NFL. Secondly, if we're talking about athletics, it's not even close. There's only 7 minutes of actual game play on average in the NFL vs 48 minutes in the NBA. Plus there are 82 games vs 17, you do the math on actual game play time and conditioning. 3rd, all basketball players are required to have multiple skills including passing, dribbling, shooting, footwork, post play etc. Vs NFL players only doing specific repetitive tasks assigned to their position. Overall skill of an NFL players is nowhere near the skill of an average NBA player. 4th, the average size of an NBA player is about 6'6 230 vs NFL at 6'1 210. As Shaq would say, that's BBQ chicken. And lastly, NBA players just make more money on average, on and off the field which means they're valued more. Even though the NFL as a league makes more money. Food for thought...
@@jonashardy9937 wrong, I played basketball and rugby from grade school through college. Also, what I said had nothing to do with whether you play sports or not. It's all factual. Funny how you couldn't even address one single point lol

Allen Iverson, Rajon Rondo, and multiple other NBA players were multi sport athletes before choosing basketball, they definitely could do it if they chose too it’s not impossible.
There's 360 players in the NBA and over 1,600 in the NFL, so by simple mathematics the NFL would have the advantage in players that could play the other's sport. Most wide receivers and defensive backs are going to have a similar skill set to NBA guards, and there are more players in just those two positions than theee are total players in the entire NBA.
NFL players def got a better chance. We play ball after a workout all the time. Any of my boys that play basketball only don’t have experience of an actual football game besides catching the ball.
I would like to see it addressed that there are collegiate basketball players who switched to football, went to the nfl and had success. Now I don’t know if the reverse has ever been attempted and if it hasn’t I do wonder why
NFL players willingly give themselves CTE and know they won’t be able to walk correctly at age 40 and yet the pampered nba players think they’d be able to play at a high level ??? Lol complete BS. There is literally players in the NFL who had never played the game a day in their life before signing their contract. There is literally 0% chance that happens in the NBA, debate over.
NBA players couldn't play in the NBA without having been trained in football because they aren't used to that physicality. NFL players couldn't play in the NBA without having been trained in basketball because the skill level it requires is far greater than any position in football.
Back when Marshawn Lynch said "Over and over and over and over.... and over and over and over," and you saw that kind of psychotic, intense seriousness in his eyes. You could see the physical pain flashing in his eyes-- more pain in one drive than most people experience in a decade. That's how people make it to the NFL: being able to endure that. It takes a special type of person.
Some NBA players have the skillset to play in the NFL. But when it comes to the physicality required, ABSOLUTELY NOT. These guys fake injuries to miss back to back games in the air conditioning. No way could these guys survive the heat of an NFL training camp.

You can see the differences in muscle texture with football and basketball. You can actually see how dense football players muscles are compared to your typical NBA build. Years of impact makes the specific look. Thay being said....basketball players do look sick AF. My favorite by far
Smh different workout

Similar athleticism not skills. Skills are totally different. Pg have way more skills than any position on a football field

Idc what anyone says football is hard in general and once you have to put on that equipment it gets even harder
