      David have any idea why the zima won't lift, and it doesn't zig zag to clean what am I doing wrong

    • @imdefinitelydavid
      @imdefinitelydavid  8 месяцев назад

      On the Path Planning tab near the center screen did you check to see if it's in Dynamic or Zigzag pattern? There are two patterns you can set the cleaner to move to.
      The lift retrieval button on the app doesn't work? And you're sure the wifi is connected? Like you're in range of your wifi

    • @pamelarichardson935

      Yes all set up for pattern, pool type floor, turning mode, yes hooked to wifi It shows that it's lifting but doesn't

    Can you put this against the Polaris vrx iq

    • @imdefinitelydavid
      @imdefinitelydavid  6 месяцев назад

      Well they're both different types of cleaners, cordless vs corded so I would say they're used for different reasons.
      Degrii Zima is good for the cost, convenient for being cordless. But struggles on steps and ledges. You will have to target those areas with the remote control.
      The IQ however does well on all surfaces and climbs steps and ledges by itself. Less need for user operation. But it's corded so that might get in the way.
      And then there's a big cost difference too so you kind of have to decide what features are more important. But on performance alone, the IQ is better I'd say.

    How long will this stay in standby without recharging? If you can schedule cleaning time for the week will the battery last a week assuming it hasn’t run and just sitting at the bottom of the pool waiting for the scheduled clean event to start?

    • @imdefinitelydavid
      @imdefinitelydavid  5 месяцев назад +1

      It will last a week depending on how often you have it turn on. Well, I should say it lasts about 3 to 4 cleanings to be more exact.
      So if you program it to turn on every other day, it'll go a week. But if you have it every day, less than a week. Depending on the time of year, when there's more debris or less, you would change the schedule and get more or less out of it. In most cases, turning on every other day works well enough so the battery should last a week before charging

    Any robot you can recommend. I’ve been debating on the dolphin premier or quantum. My pool is 18x36 L shape 8 foot deep end. 4 foot shallow end. Concrete walls and steps with vinyl liner. I remember you saying the waterline cleaning will be rough on the liner. Thank you!

    • @imdefinitelydavid
      @imdefinitelydavid  8 месяцев назад +1

      Oh yes, there are some cleaners out there with super aggressive waterline scrubbing. The Dolphin Premier and Quantum have great waterline scrubbing. Not weak, but not overly aggressive. You'd be fine with either one. I love them both.
      The Premier is my favorite for specific times of the season when I get overrun with leaves in the pool. The Quantum is easier to empty out and user-friendly though. Like I'd rather use the Quantum unless I get a storm and a ton of leaves, then I'd use the Premier.

      @@imdefinitelydavid thank you so much. Decided on the quantum because I get some leaves but not a ton. Appreciate all your help and videos. They definitely help in the decision 👍

    David my pool is long and deep 10ft I live in Vegas and the dirt is terrible the Zima or the Wybot C1?(the new one for 2024) in your opinion which one would do better for me?

    • @imdefinitelydavid
      @imdefinitelydavid  8 месяцев назад

      Well the issue with both of those cleaners is that they don't include ultra-fine filters. It's not to say that they won't work on dirt but it would struggle to pick up all the dirt.
      Out of the two though, the Zima has that app with remote control and a deep clean mode that uses more suction power on the spot. So in that sense the Zima would be better. But you'd have to activate it on the app and remote control it.

    • @pamelarichardson935

      Does Zima offer the ultra fine filters?

    Hi there... I must have missed this review while looking for a bot to be able to spot clean. This looks like this could solve the problem that other bots have in missing spots!
    do you think the small tether would get tangled up with a Betta?
    Also, are you able to use the manual controls to assist in mapping your pool? That could help to ensure that no spots are missed!
    great review... I could see myself buying this one!

    • @imdefinitelydavid
      @imdefinitelydavid  8 месяцев назад +1

      I've tried this with the Betta and other skimmers and it doesn't work well together.
      The skimmer eventually hits the floating control unit and sort of gets stuck. Then both the skimmer and robot at the bottom get thrown off and they pull each other around until eventually the skimmer gets loose. Sometimes it happens quickly but other times it's stuck on there for a while.

    I really like this one bud, one thing I love the way the seauto shark and seal clean the water line , I haven’t really seen any other clean it like they do , so you think it makes a difference

    • @imdefinitelydavid
      @imdefinitelydavid  8 месяцев назад

      Yup, I agree. The Seal and Shark of last year had the most aggressive waterline cleaning I've ever seen. Even more so then big name Dolphins and Polaris cleaners.
      It does make a difference if your pool gets really dirty at the waterline, especially if you have a lot of shade/sun mix because of the algae and bacteria that can grow there. The waterline scrubbing helps more so in those pools I think.

    I wish they can convert that control floating panel into a passive skimmer and better yet with solar panel. This is another patent to submit.

    • @imdefinitelydavid
      @imdefinitelydavid  8 месяцев назад +1

      There's actually another cleaner that with that exact setup that should be released within the next few months. A robotic cleaner tethered to a floating skimmer device.
      I've been talking to the company to review it when it's released!

    I wish I would have seen the review on this unit before I bought the AquaSense Pro. I love the actual robot but the skimming mode just doesn’t work, in my opinion, in my case and is the main reason I bought it. I don’t know if it’s just the unit that I got but I’m having the hardest time trying to get them to exchange it for a different one. I finally asked them how I go about just returning it for a refund and I’m waiting to hear back. If I can get a refund then I may just go with this and use the Surfer S1 for the skimming

      Yeah, thanks David. They responded this weekend and said the robot shouldn’t be operating the way mine is and are going do a return. I really like the robot as a pool cleaner so now I’m debating whether to try a new AquaSense Pro, go with just the regular AquaSense cleaner or try a different cleaner all together

    • @imdefinitelydavid
      @imdefinitelydavid  8 месяцев назад +1

      I think it's worth trying again if the company is willing to ship you another cleaner to try. I mean, I was worried they would ignore your claim lol so I was genuinely curious how they would respond.
      It's unfortunate for you though to have to ship the old cleaner back. These cleaners aren't light and easy to lug around. That's extra time and work for you so I understand how you feel.

      Yes! Airthereal reached out to me a couple weeks ago about the Aquamarvin and will send me one to review when it's released.
      It's got a cool design and much less expensive than the Aquasense Pro.
      Seems like having a tether in the pool to a cleaner is now a great idea. I also like the fact that the Aquamarvin has the option to be corded or cordless. That's a first! I'm always excited for cleaners with new tech
